I live in Europe and the 970 is STILL more expensive than the rx480. Even though it's not a wide margin, you have to consider the 970 is an older architecture, has way less ram and already the reference 480 is right on its heels or in some benchmarks getting the best of the 970.

I think it's sensible to wait for non-reference 480, they will run cooler and quieter.

wew ok how about no.With most modern Flat panels you can get close to Black so the black bars on the side of the aren't Black but dark gray and it is distracting to me and the only other things that would be dark enough would be OLED or Plasma neither of which are cheap so why not just go ahead and pay like 50 at most for a decent used CRT or hell even get it for free of Craigslista and not have to look at the bars and anyhow i have a Flatpanel i just have the CRT as a Secondary monitor for old movies
