Why is it so hard to make an IDE that works out of the box?

Sure smells like summer.
I like vim with plugins but for bigger projects I use qtcreator, it's surprisingly nice
Not sure why but I hate it. It feels bloated as fuck, somehow.
>He doesn't know
As opposed to what? Fucking GCC?
Yet it doesn't have that much features.
Also, horrible code style settings.
>install Visual Studio
>crashes and bugs out constantly
Visual Studio is ass dude
I've started working on a project using a cypress psoc board and the psoc creator IDE is pretty baller. If you think normal ide's are bad, try doing embedded development.
seismic, half life 3 joke, yiff in hell, etc
Visual Studio has always worked fine for me
IntelliJ has always worked fi- well, it hasn't with something I've done recently, but that's not IntelliJ's fault.
Notepad++ is wonderful for any old text editing on windows
Back when I used Eclipse it was fine
Padre, a fucking Perl IDE, works just fine. Don't ask why I downloaded it.
Nano works great for anything on Linux over ssh
I've never experienced a bad text editor/IDE other than vi(m).
>install visual studio
>tons of basically irrelevant shit and 100 useless runtimes and sql servers get installed as well, in both x86 and x64 versions
>has the same functions as the 16 year old VS .net but is 10 times slower
>some functions are missing because MS wants people to switch to their proprietary java clone
>Don't launch visual studio in a month
>Needs to activate even though it's the community edition
>Used Atmel studio which is based on visual studio
>It's a wrapper for GNU Make and GDB with a fuckload of checkboxes
I wanna fug liru
Would you believe Never, Ever actually came just a couple of weeks ago?
Get in line
I compiled some telemetry in your mom's bedroom
You have to set up the jdk in IntelliJ. Which is probably too advanced for a retard like OP.
I use gcc and netbeans. works great, don't see the issue.
>sure smells like summer in here
>install netbeans
>try to make a file
>cant
>have to make a whole folder just for one standalone file
wew fuckin lad.
>Install something
>Never read instructions
>It fucks up.
Oh the future is bleak.
How could i miss that.
>tfw I prefer to use Code Blocks because everything else is even worse
If only CLion wasn't such a lagfest on my toaster. Can't even benefit from autocomplete because it's too slow.
seeding that shit
