Dude elemental x kernel with stock ROM does wonders. Went from 3.5 SOT to almost 5.5. This is on my 5x.

Question: what stops my phone from dozing? First night with custom kernel, slept around 3am and got up around 11am.

someone tell me something good/bad about nokia asha 210 or 205.

That 5.5in nexus sounds bretty good. What are the chances it won't cost more than ~400$?

>axon 7 has shitty bezels

Literally D R O P P E D

Can gooks get anything right?

Is the Moto X Pure a good phone for someone that doesn't care and has never had a smartphone before?

Yeah probably.

Thanks man phones seem too complicated for me I just wanna browse the web on it and send fun messages

It's pretty big at 5.7" so if that's your new smartphone bear that in mind. maybe play with it in a shop if you have the chance to see how it feels. pretty good specs otherwise.

first* smartphone

What are the chances the 128 gb storage option in the new nexus is

Impossible. $600 if lucky.

0

Just get a phone with a microsd slot and get a $30 128GB 70MB/s microsd card like a normal human being.

Should I trust the chinks with my fingerprints?

Cheapest phone(s) that can record 1080p 60fps that isn't an iPhone?

Guys I'm planning to buy a backup phone and so far I've been thinking of getting these 3. gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=7855&sSearch2=j7&idPhone2=7870&idPhone3=7590

Just get a $70 zte warp elite. This is a fucking backup phone, jesus.

Any chink CDMA phones?

How durable is this phone? Can you root it?

Durability is good, screen has GG 3 and is very resistant to scratches, so much that I never bought a screen protector for it. I've had one for about two months.

Well, it's been done. Few reasons why i went with this over other devices:

Screen: People made a big deal out of this. Got to play with one in hand and it's really not bad. you have to concentrate really fucking hard to make out any sort of play with the pentile display. Yes, the colors are saturated as fuck just like nearly every other amoled screen, but with the new oxygen OS update, you can make it just as yellow as any ips display. personally i liked the saturation, so i probably won't touch it.

-Capacitive buttons: The layout is completely customizable and that's fantastic. Just blank dots for both sides. The only other device that has their button layout the same is xiaomi on the mi5, but thanks to being chinks their LTE bands don't work on Tmobile.

Ports: Headphone jack on the bottom. No other phone i was looking at does this, and it's really fucking smart as most people put their phones in their pocket top first. Heard a lot of stories of headphones getting got because of the placement of the jack in their pockets.

Network compatibility: Phone has complete compatibility with Tmobile's LTE networks unlike the first iteration device which only works on band 4. Wifi strength is also a step above the first phones, so finding reception should be even easier for me.

Price - Shits only 40 dollars more than what i paid for my Oneplus One for 2 years ago. For the price of one samshit or HTC device, i've gotten 2 that'll last me till at least this time next year.

yes, well done oneplus, well done. HOWEVER:

-64 gb storage only, no fucking sd slot. fuck you
-the preinstalled "screen protector" doesn't even cover the whole screen. as retarded as that sounds.

Got it with the karbon case, it'll be here next week if i'm lucky. first thing i'm gonna do now is find a third party protector that doesn't suck absolute dick.

Even the 3 year old Xperia Z1 would do, better to trust reliable flagships than any midrange with meh components

So they finally made this chinkshit+ phone worth its price?

>axon 7 has shitty bezels
72.2% screen area according to GSMArena. The S7 is 72.1%. Unless you mean the black border area which is a real eyesore.

Not the greatest but that's probably the price for having the speakers on the front. Looks good to me but I'm looking to hear more about the battery life.

Nearly identical to the htc 10 in terms of specs sans the screen and sd card slot. oneplus 3 actually feels nicer to hold in the hand after comparing both. little more than half the price since oneplus doesn't charge tax and the htc 10 with tax shoots up to around 760 dollars.

Only thing I dislike is the lack of 1080p 60fps and the necessity for their stock to get rapid charge

these things piss me off too, but honestly for 300-400 dollars off of the competition, plus the fact that oneplus devices are developer havens, I'm willing to compromise.

Which i will admit sounds absolutely terrible when you take into consideration their motto is "never settle"

My 3 year old Z1 has better battery life than that on stock
With constant usage too.

I want a Note. Will the 6(7?) be worth it or should I get a cheaper 4/Edge?

If it matters: I've never used Android and I expect to use the stylus a lot.

>will note 7 be worth it
i mean maybe to previous note owners. if you've never used android, you're not going to be bothered by a lack of sd card support or the smaller battery for sure. note 5's new go for about 520 these days. note 7 will most likely hit 800-900 or somewhere close to that considering the s7 edge's price

I can't decide between meizu mx5(16gb version) or xiaomi redmi 3 pro. Here is as I see it.
MX5:
>better camera
>better screen
>slightly better processor
>better speakers placement
redmi note 3 pro(the 3gb ram, 32 gb rom version):
>better battery
>better price(30 less euro )
>more memory storage (although this is not a big deal to me)
>MIUI
The main thing that makes me hesitant is the fact that I dont know if FlymeOS sucks, cause even though I would take the meizu for the specs, I've had an mi4 and I liked MIUI a lot.
What would you guys do? opinions?

tl;dr what should my charging habits be to maximise battery life?

Also, wired or wireless?

Wait for the seventh Note, there isn't going to be a sixth. Wait to see what features are there first, then decide whether it fits or not. Personally I'd wait, mostly because of Samsung Pay, SD slot and hopefully an improved stylus, though that the rumoured battery life might be worth it not having an easily removed battery

Any opinions on the Wileyfox Spark X?

wileyfox.com/sparkx/

Seems like a good budgetphone for what it offers, 2GB ram, warranty since it's not directly a ''chinaphone''. MTK 6735 which is performing somewhat better than the 410, which already runs pretty smooth on the Moto G3 from what I've seen. It also has apparently a nice texture on the back.

, my second option would've probably been a Moto G Plus since it comes with a 3.0 charger.

I've heard it's for the best when you let the phone just discharge to about 10% and then charge it, also keeping it in the charger too long isn't good for the battery either.

Just don't sweat it, keep the thing on airplane mode when going to bed (

Fuck, its between mx5 and redmi note 3 pro, not redmi 3 pro

you should totally dedicate professionally to giving advice man!

How long until blackberry makes a relevant phone?

Thinking about making the jump to Android from iOS.

Should I pick up an S7 now?
Or wait and see if the S8 actually has the rumored 4k screen?

The S series are just bad memes
Wait for the Note 7
4k screen is a gimmick unless you're ass up in the even more gimmicky VR meme

A friend broke his phone and asked me to give him my old one, so I tried to charge to see if it worked.
It's an old Xperia so there's a little light that appears if the phone is charging.
I tried to charge it with 6 different cables and 2 different blocks but I couldn't get the light to work more than half a sec.
Most of the time it would just flash once, no matter how much I moved the cable inside the port.
Do you guys know what's the problem / how to fix it?

It's fucked.

Crack it open and have a squiz.

Most important, how's the battery. Are you satisfied with it? 3000mAh is nothing.

This is an emergency /spg/,

I touched my brand new smartphone with my hand when I was writing a document and a bit of ink smeared on the side. It's probably plastic - also conveniently white, so as everyone can see that fucking blue smear on it from miles away.

How do I fix this mess? I tried rubbing it with my hand also some fabric with soapy water but nothing had happened.
It's just a Huawei chinkphone, but it is precious to me. Help pls.

Christ, how dumb can you be?

Get a piece of cotton and dab it in some rubbing alcohol (or acetane if it comes to it, but I don't really recommend it, as it can be very harsh), and rub your phone hard.

>rose gold
>rose gold on black

Lads, I'm fucking bummed that Windows Phone has no apps.
Seriously, if the app game was up to par with Android, I'd fucking buy a Windows Phone tomorrow

Not him, but I kinda like it - it reminds me of something older.

So I let it charge for 1 hour without touching it even though the light wasn't working, and it works now. I guess that the battery was so low that turning the light needed too much power.
It works now anyways.

What's /spg/'s thoughts on the Huawei P9? I've never really been into smart phones but I'm looking for a new one to replace my IPhone 5s and the P9 has took my interest. I'll be using EE as my provider and am from Britain. I was either going to purchase the P9 or wait to see what the IPhone 7 brings to the market since am alittle intimidated by the switch from IOS to Android, but any advice is appreciated.

my dad just got P9 Lite and it's quality is top tier, plus EMUI is really nice.

Has anyone here ever got a bottle of fusso oleophobic coat and tried to fill in scratches with it?
Seriously considering trying it on my S7.

It's snake oil

Gonna need some pics

It's supposed to be copper. The white version has rose gold or something.

Byebye, Peter Pan.

Replacing my Iphone 4 finally.

And yes white devils we have Moto G4 Plus in India already :)

It's a feature

When I get home I'll definitely try that thanks!

I would, but my phone is not able to take a picture of itself.

Truly a cuck

>Marlin

Where the fuck have I heard that name before? It sounds extremely familiar.

f droid apps what should i get? I only have newpipe and vlc

I used to have a Xperia SP, i quite liked it, but it got stolen.

Anyway, im looking for a cellphone that can handle some decent 3d graphics without crashing every 5 minutes, like my old one did, as i like emulating.

Good phones for that duty?

Well good for you m8

Probably the ZTE Warp Elite. It has 2GB of RAM, 4-core A53 @ 1.2 GHz, and a 3,000 mAh battery which are all good things to have for emulating console vydias.

It's a fish

Is there any open source phone I can buy?

Looking for a new phone..

>location
Germany, import via netherlands possible
>budget
Max. 400
>size
5-5.5"
>storage
16/32GB + SD or 64/128
>performance/usage
Browsing, chat, music (!), some vids, good cam is bonus
Should be at least 3GB RAM + performance of SD 650 or 625 or comparable
>battery
The bigger the better. If the phone can't get me comfortable trough a whole workday from 10:00 to 20:00, it's useless. At least 3000mAh.
>connectivity
good wifi, LTE 800, 1800, 2600
>software
Near stock android or custom rom

Options i looked into: OP3, ZUK Z2, RN3P, R3P, R3S, P9Lite.
Should i get one of these? Should i wait for Nexus which will probably have a shit battery?
Should i wait for that mysterious new Xiaomi "markw"?

>tfw the perfect phone doesn't exist and never will
Why even live..

Question please!
I'm running a nightly CyanogenMod 13 on my S4 GT-I9505.

Looking for alternatives, other ROMs to try. I like CM but there are some little faults, while waiting for a stable.

Any input? A lot of sources points to AOKP or MIUI.

Is Android good? Can I modify it?

Xperia Z5

It's fluid, gets updates quickly, and a great app store, however it's closed source so you need to root it to be able to modify it.
Also If you like to manage your files your going to have to root it to access the file manager.

>Hong Kong

>Other than standard features, pretty heavy gaming. Shironeko in particular is reportedly clunky at times even on S7
>~HKD 4000
>Below 6 inches

Where on earth do you want to buy the Z5 for 400€?

Is it hard to root it? Do you recommend? Can I get rid of the default apps that come with it?

It actually worked user, thank you so much! There's still a slight blueness there, but it's invisible unless you inspect it from very close. I'm planning on buying some rubbing alcohol later (the pharmacy was closed wtf) maybe it'll get rid of that bit of blue even, as I used acetane.

Looking for the same. Only hope is the k6000 premium.

Installed Exodus on my G3 after being shocked at how unusable and slow some butchered up version of the official LG marshmallow software was. Thank god for people with lots of spare time who port new AOSP versions to all these "old" phones.

I just wish I could get rid of the fourth softkey, it's totally redundant and there doesn't seem to be an xposed module that does the trick.

Ye like miui? Well strapped ahead for redmi note 3 then. Performance overall is amazing, battery's pretty great. Only lacking in camera, speaker placement is quite meh but the quality is umph, lack fast charging but manageable with that kind of battery since you'll probably charge a day after.

Overall i like it. Oh yeah bretty nice metal build too if you into that.

>To say that OnePlus's new sRGB mode provides a substantial improvement in display accuracy would be an understatement. The display has gone from being the most inaccurate display that I've seen in years, to being among the most accurate displays that we have on record. Gone is the ghastly blue shift, and even in the standard display mode OnePlus has toned that down significantly. The gamut matches sRGB very well, and both greyscale and color reproduction is right on target.

Samsung shills BTFO

Looks decent on paper, but i don't know shit about Oukitel and i heared that some other phone has or had some huge software flaw.
Also, how about updates? If i spend 400 on a phone i don't want to bother the next 2-4 years other than maybe a battery replacement.
Oneplus let us down, Nexus did, too.. what next? Ultra thin Redmi 4 with 2000mAh?

Google Cardboard is ushering in the waifu age

>Samsung shills BTFO
Retard. OP3 display comes from Samsung.

Are chinkphones like Mi5 really high end competitors or are you memeing me?

Nexus or mi5?

...

...

...

So far 6.0 hasn't been able to be rooted, so you'll need 5.0. I recommend because it fluid and doesn't lag at using a two year old phone rn on 6.1 and don't see any stutter. On the bright side I heard that the newest version 7.0 will let you remove some system apps.

Just picked this up for $75 as a backup since I had to take my 6S in for repair.

Has LTE, a nice screen and runs CM13 smoothly; the only real downside is the shitty battery but I already ordered a new genuine one for $8.

>Taken on an iPhone
Fucking hell

Clover.

Mi5, OP3, Le 2 X820.

Where can I buy one. Are they only in brick and mortar store in the UK or can I buy one online. I had no luck when I was googling

Perhaps go for the Moto G 4 Plus. it has good specs, looks fine and has quickcharging which is great. besides that it 'll save you some dosh.
