EU-FOSSA - open source audit survey

>What is it?
A project sponsored by the EU (1.000.000 € budget) to audit one open source software project.
>How is the open source project selected?
By having a survey. Everyone can participate. No signup needed and it only takes one minute.
>Link?

I highly recommend that everyone participates.

Is this some kind of money laundering scheme?

>the jokers voting Notepad ++

If you can get a full audit done in a better price, go put in your tender to do the audit

Voted for glibc

Where did you get the budget figure from?
Don't see it mentioned on the survey page or on the 'more info' one.

Voted for ffmpeg

I feel retarded but can someone explain to me what the point of such audit.

I forgot to mention:
You can specify a project of your choice. You don't have to choose one of the listed projects.

According to the 'implementation' section on their page, July is when the code review is supposed to start.
Why is the voting open still?

And what does 'sample code review' mean?
They'll be reviewing a portion of the code to see how it goes?

I read in an article that ends on 7. july. Couldn't find anything on the official sites though.

Truecrypt audit collected 46 thousand dollars, these guys have a million. They have nearly 21-times the budget Truecrypt audit had but they are only doing a "sample code review".
Britbongs please crash this union with no survivors.

Meant nearly 22-times.
Them off-by-one errors.

The wonders of bureaucracy.

>Truecrypt audit collected 46 thousand dollars, these guys have a million.

the truecrypt audit also missed two privilege escalation bugs, while I don't think the eu audit would have done any better there's something to be said for not putting complete faith in audits

>EU is getting cucked by Google
>An institution too stupid to implement own solutions
>wanting to improve security
