Returning 480 to Microcenter?

Returning 480 to Microcenter?

>i fell for the rx480 meme

I bought the card and opened the box but something happened yesterday and i couldnt install it. the videocard never was removed from the anti static bag.

would it be possible to return the card to microcenter?

No you keep it

>returning a perfectly functional and best price/performance point for 1080p.

>returning a card that overdraws from the pcie slot and runs very hot
Return it and wait for aftermarket cards.

FUCK OFF STUPID KIDDO NOBODY CARES TELL YOUR MOM

microcenter accepts returns even if you do have it out of the static protector, also if you have warrenty you can buy lets just say the best card one year then the new best card comes out the next year you can just turn it in and say it doesn't work (KEEP YOUR RECEIPT) you get all of your money back towards next years card

Works just fine on my machine. Best purchase that I have made all year.

AMD just released a statement.

The power overdraw from the PCIe is soooo meme.

It is not the GPU's responsibility to limit the power draw from the PCIe, if the motherboard can't handle more than 75 watts, it should cap it. Just because a GPU has superior connectors for extra power, doesn't mean it's at fault.

It's no different than complaining about a PSU getting pulled more power than what it's rated for, it's not the hardwares fault for pulling 400 watts when the PSU is only rated at 350 watts.

It's just another excuse for us to allow motherboard makers to be complete utter garage.

Even if it is a meme, it's pretty stupid to buy a reference card.

>buying a reference card
>current year

I bet you preorder your gayms too

Yeah, the onlu thing reference cards are decent for is when running multiple cards, so you dont have all the heat output inside the case.

Did you drop it or something?

no,was about to install it and i had to take a phone call. ended up going out.

literally only one side of the boxes seal is broken.

that additional $30 warranty?

Why the PCI problems then?
Why does this happen, then?

>I bought the card and opened the box
>the videocard never was removed from the anti static bag.

>tfw many computer shops sell builds with reference RX480

is this just a way to jew people? nowhere on the build it says reference RX480.

How long do you think till the non-reference cards come out?

3 years tops

I'm to impatient to wait that long...

>AMD PR
you don't even try to make your posts sound like they aren't ripped from Poojeesh's PR script

>something happened

That's because of your faulty psu you retarded shill.

>your
I dont own a faulty PSU and I dont own a 480 you cunt.
Also how the fuck is the PSU at fault if it works with every card except for the 480 (even with cards that draw more power)? Are you fucking retarded?

I did that with my 270. Waited till the aftermarket ones released and retur ed the referance one saying that the fan didn't work. Gonna do it again with my 480

>Card not meeting standarts
>Fuck cheap mobos not being able to do not being able to do more than required
Pajeet 101

>3 RX-480s
Is that twat joking?

>Implying anybody would ever dare to lie on the internet

I still don't believe it would fry on the connector, it would probably fry some small rail or blown up cap, connector and PSU are perfectly capable of drawing as much current as any GPU wants.

>three RX 480's

What a fucking idiot.

>buying reference in the first place..

im selling a graphics card for $0.01
it runs games at one frame per second at 1080p
best price/performance ratio on the market give me your money

It would/should have blown a trace in the motherboard.

Funny story: I was running two GTX 480's at one point (yes, Fermi house fire cards). One day I turned my computer on and a big puff of smoke came out. I found one of the traces on the top side of the mobo blown.

I was running a Corsair HX 850 watt PSU as well.

>using the cards one way they were intended to be used
3 way XF is stupid as fuck but it should never ever under any cicumstances kill your board if the PSU is strong enough.

>being THIS poor
