VPN thread

So then... what does Sup Forums recommend for VPN usage?

Openvpn

Self hosted openvpn/shadowsocks server.

Mulvad definitely

That's been suggested a few times to me - anything that makes it stand out?

None. VPNs are shit, use Tor instead.

Is HotSpot Shield any good?

>only tor is good
>only proxies are good
Why does g hate vpns so much.
For most providers having no logs is a big selling point.
How many occasions do you know of where they actually disclosed any customer information?
Unless you're invovled in cp production vpns seem perfectly fine. Not even tor could save in that case 100% of the time.

Free vpns could very easily be honey pots.
And I don't think it allows p2p traffic.

I have the elite version and torrentig works great under the vpn. What i actually meant was if its secure and if anyone had any problems with that.

aren't they the same crew that operate tpb? If so you can count on them giving the finger to the alphabet boys when the time comes

>tfw your ISP is chill and you don't like kiddie porn so you don't have to bother with any of this shit

guys help.

I bought ipinator VPN but it sucks ass:
it's slow
i can't access gmail
i can't create dating sites

I need VPNs to create trolls on dating sites
from free ones:
spotflux - didnt work
hidemyass - didnt work

premium ones:
steganos - kinda works on some, but very limited IPs

>Use Tor instead
What if you want to torrent, dipshit?

There are TONS of web proxies out there. Try a few less known. Or use a free vpn like openvpn. (Its a honeypot but I use it anyway)

That's not a VPN, thats general software for routing your connection through a vpn

If the VPN provider is based in America they are required to keep logs legally, if they use it as a selling point they're lying. If you are using a foreign VPN you have no idea what they're doing with your information.

I use my VPS with OpenVPN as my VPN server. But all I need it for is to bypass the NAT gateway of my dormitory, which won't filter/timeout any amount of OpenVPN traffic. However, for privacy, this actually seems like the worst solution to me.

It can come in handy when using public WiFi and wanting more privacy, or when torrenting on school networks.
