no

Only if you play a bunch of games with shitty omnithreading.

So yes?

*downgrading

If you're into gayming, do it. Its a great upgrade. The 8350 is shit in so many non-specialised uses.

Thanks senpai

no, if you do anything other than gaming like video editing.

Amd to intel is always an upgrade

Wait for Zen to come out, even if it's not as good as Intel it will drive the prices down.

If you are using your rig mainly for games the i5 would be an upgrade. If not, stick with the fx 8350.

If you are willing to wait for months to buy a CPU that doesn't mean everyone wants to wait. Why should he wait? Do you have some leaks that prove it will be better for the same price or just as good for a lower price? Remember Bulldozer? What if Zen will be the same shit all over again?

Because they will finally have something that is (even if it's not good) at least somewhat competative with intel. Intel has been fucking around with their prices in the last few years because they know they don't have any real competition.

No.

While you'll get about 20% improvement in some gaming, its not worth to upgrade it tbqh.

Just wait out 1 or two more generation for the Zen or Kaby Lake. Chances are you'd get much better performance from these two.

I hope we will finally have a competative market again.

>he fell for the amd fx meme
lmao, it's a pos of shit.
get the i5

>pos of shit

not really, wait for something better and just OC it to 5ghz

>Zen turns out to be bulldozer 2.0
>competitive
Look I am all for AMD getting back into the game and give Intel a run for it's money (at least in the mid-range market) but waiting 3+ months for at best a slight price drop is not worth in my book.

There is no way in hell to OC it to 5GHZ and hope it will be stable on air.

just wait for zen

Sure you are, goy.

ZEN!

>OP asks if he should upgrade now to i5
>You tell him to wait because Zen will be the best CPU ever made
>I am somehow the shill

Why is everyone saying "wait for Zen" when it is so far away? Is there some info about how it performs or something that I miss?

Just overclock it.

i5 2500k is a bigger upgrade
no joke

4.0 is the FX's stock clock speed and 4.1 with turbo

Buy an i7 6700 at minimum for that

Its literally coming in 3 months. I have an 8350 myself. It's been fine for the past almost 2years, I can handle 3 more months.

If he hasn't already, op should see how far he can overclock it. That'll sate your appetite for a bit.

why on earth would you buy that for gaming?

you wouldn't.

It's super easy to overclock the i5 to that, too.

>going from 8 cores to 4 cores
Just cuck my shit up

It doesn't matter if all of those cores suck. Also, they aren't full cores. That being said, god damn it amd save us from intel.

Yeah, fuck off

multi

good thing zen will have +40% IPC

Yes, but it you want to edit and tender videos you should go with the 6700k.

Good thing I can enjoy this machine for 1 1/2 years before you will even see the msrp of zin, much less purchase it

Form a complete, coherent, and even remotely logical argument and I might actually respond legitimately.

>its a wait 4-6 months for zen episode
by the time zen is out intel would have something that would smoke zen on release let alone kick the 8350's (which isnt hard to do now)

I'm enjoying my 50% IPC right now.
Kaby Lake will come out the same time as Zen, and bump that up another 10%. 60% IPC improvement from FX series. All for $245.

I've never heard of either of those graphics cards.

In the past few years Intel has done next to nothing in terms of IPC improvements, skylake had around 2.5% IPC gain from Broadwell. I seriously doubt that Intel will be able to do a 10% IPC boost. This is not to mention that AMD only around 40% slower in IPC than intel chips to begin this.

Also, you do realize you sound exactly like an ad right?

>All for $245

Source?

i5 k series are always that price
