Atom

Why haven't you switched to the best text editor ever created?
Is it because your shit computer is too slow?

i already have mousepad.

There's something to be said for learning the editors which are installed by default on nearly every modern OS.

Is it "don't waste your time"?

>Is it because your shit computer is too slow
If you're going to use bloat, use an IDE like jetbrains' since Atom takes just as long to fucking open

>opening a web browser to edit text files
>le sour grapes ur computer must be so slow le poorfag
It's the principle of it, you teranigger.

>Why haven't you switched to the best text editor ever created?
I have, as its VS Code.
It is basically Atom only made by people who know how to develop software.
To a certain degree.

Atom is a decent GUI editor.
I prefer it over Sublime nagware.
However I'd still use Notepad++ on Wangblows.
I'd also just stick to Vim baka desu senpai

>has intellisense, i'm already sold
>install it
>run it, takes more than 2 seconds to go to be able to start editing
>uninstall.png

Do you spend all your time opening and closing Atom?

Sour grapes? You're saying that I want to have your shit computer?

>Do you spend all your time opening and closing Atom?
If your argument is that you don't have to close it, then again, may as well use a fucking IDE

Just get an SSD bruv

Yeah, and then it'll give me less reason to use Atom

VS Code is just Atom but with no developers

They're both shit

What makes all these text editors good? Is it how they look or their functionality? Do I have to use my mouse for navigation? How would they impact my productivity?

An IDE is just a text editor with extra bloat that you can't change. Atom lets you add the bloat you want so it doesn't get in your way.

>100 MB installer

yo why

Jesus christ Sublime text is the most perfect and fast editor, also beautiful and practical

Oh yeah, and it wasnt written in meme languages like html/css/js

wtf is this shit

what's wrong with using gedit

all you really need is a way to run the code and some color for key functions in the text editor to make it readable

someone explain to me how vim/emacs/atom/sublime and all the rest makes you a better programmer

i have only limited experience with emacs, so i might be ignorant

>all you really need is a way to run the code
in a terminal i mean obviously not 'in' gedit itself

i use phpstorm

Two reasons

Emacs is better
JavaScript is for websites

>Is it because your shit computer is too slow?
This program is fucking useless because my computer IS to slow. I don't get it. 980Ti, 32GB of RAM, i7-4790k. But no it can't open any file over 15MB. It just freezes solid.

Programming in Vim is much more efficient than how you would in gedit. You don't need to learn about all the autistic features Vim has to get the benefits of its editing design.

I think the search and replace function is shit.

Atom is typically used by people who like to slap nut sacks together & fuck assholes.

I have a great PC but it still takes more than 2 seconds to open. Literally text editing outside of a terminal setting always take wayy to long. Vim is always fucking instant open. I'll stick to vim.

>written in html/css/js
holy shit I hate nu-programmers

I have.

I wish we had spoilers on Sup Forums
I actually use vim.

PLEASE VALIDATE MY OPINIONS I'M SO PATHETIC AND SELF CENTERED ALSO I SUCK COCKS
