Ergonomic mouse for bad wrists

Anyone else have bad wrists?
I need help finding a mouse that can keep my wrist strait, comfortable to grip and has at least a few macro buttons I can program.
Thanks

>Have a shit genetic trait

fuck off

use a trackball, i don't have one so don't know what to advice, there are cool looking ones on google though.

>wrist injury
>genetic flaw
Fuck off back to Sup Forums

The good thing about those is you don't have to move your arm/wrist.

oh, forgot to ask about what companies are good?
Obviously this isn't my home board.

/thread

How is that /thread?
user didn't even explain the merits because he doesn't even have one.
Do you use one?

I have bouts of carpal tunnel. You don't need to move your wrist at all really, so it is good for RSI in your wrist. He could also wear splints.

Fuck off with your sub-par genes, I bet you're also a manlet.

I've worn splints when it gets really bad but it's such a nuisance. Please don't berate me when I ask what RSI means.

Yeah, I use a step ladder to get on my toilet and shop at kids r us for clothes. I just signed a deal for a new show on TLC

b...bump

As has been said, trackball is the correct answer. Find one with good ratings online. No further bumps are needed

I use a trackball. I like fingerballs more, but thumb balls are closest to using a mouse. I'm currently using the elecom fingerball, but I've used the elecom thumb one, m570, and logitech $20 finger one (with the red ball). All of them aren't bad.

Thanks user, I'll check it out. How long did it take you to get used to it coming from a standard mouse?

My favorite is the Logitech M310, I have medium sized hands and I have tried others even the more expensive Razers, but they were too big and heavy or the buttons were too stiff, there is probably something out there that is even better but for now I am happy with the M310

Thank you, I appreciate your help.

No problem, I forgot to mention that there are no macro buttons but maybe they make one similar to the M310 with that feature, it is worth looking into.

Thanks for the info.
Do you Sup Forumsuys have ergonomic threads?
There's a bunch of other things I need help with too. Had a few back surgeries and need a good chair.
Pic related is what I got installed in October. Still recovering.

I don't see many ergonomic threads, I have CP so repetitive motion kills me, 10 minutes on a Razer mouse and my finger is done. I am also looking for a descent chair, right now I use an office chair with two memory foam pillows to lesson the impact on my spine.

>CP

Jokes aside what does that mean? Carpal tunnel?

What chairs are you looking at and what's wrong with your back? Sorry for all the questions.

I have cerebral palsy, it is mild and you wouldn't notice it unless I told you to watch my feet as I walk, most people just assume I am fragile lol

Three months ago I sort of gave up my search and started looking at massage chairs, I found one for $6k but it is massive and it's $6k so I just sort of stopped actively looking.

Derp, I should have know that.
6k is insane for a chair.
Do you have foot droop, drop? Can't remember the term.

No drop or droop, whatever that is... lol

My feet may turn a little bit toward each other as I take steps no one would notice it, but if you put me in front of some stairs it would become noticeable that my knees aren't the best and I gripping the rail for dear life, I usually go up them sideways. I didn't even know I had CP until I decided to join the army at 18 and my parents were then forced to tell me that I was ineligible, I just thought I was a chronic pain sufferer.

I do not have bad wrists, but I am considering getting a trackball mouse (the ones with the ball on top of the mouse so you don't have to move it around on a flat surface) for gaming on my bed. I am curious how bad they are on the wrist.

That's fucked up if your parents. Pisses me off actually. Stairs still fuck me up sometimes but I'm way better than I was.

I don't have bad wrists, but they definitely get less sore with trackballs. I collect both mice and trackballs, but much prefer the latter (especially the fingertip ones).

Microsoft Trackball Explorer (3rd) and Logitech Cordless Optical Trackman (5th) are my personal favorites

They just wanted me to have a normal childhood and I my dad still is in denial of it, what is really messed up is that the Mental health and Retardation place was doing all types of test on me and I have scars all over from them test that they were doing up until I was 10 years old and I have absolutely no memory of it, my mom said they were even cutting skin away from under my eyelids, how messed up is that? My brain is probably repressing a lot.

If those are all yours sweet collection.
Cutting? What the flying fuck? !
That's so fucking cruel.

lol At least I don't have to remember it, which chairs are you looking at?

I don't even know anymore. I like the look of those race seat ones but I think I should get something that can slighty recline and that lets me put my feet up.
I tried using an actual recliner but it was too cumbersome and I couldn't get it far enough forward to be useful for my desk.

My chair has no neck support and I would suggest making sure your new one does so if your sitting back you don't strain it.

Oh yeah, def.
>31
>feel like I'm 61
And I don't even have what you do.
I don't know you user but I wish you the best. Keep fighting the good fight.

40 feel like I'm 60 and look like I'm 25 (got lucky with the 25) I am actually glad I don't have what you have sounds horrible, this is all I know and it has made me more creative, anyways I hope you get better too.

Razer deathadder. Sounds shitty but perfect shape

Don't do it, that is the darkside, see

user, I've been through six years of pain. The last 2 being hell. Had the bone soften and the implant slipped inward. (They went through my stomach btw) then my dad had a heart attack while I was still recovering in the hospital. Then we made the decision to take him off life support a week or so later. And on top of that bullshit I was going through withdrawals when I got home.
/blog
Feel like I had to rant, sorry

I use Magic Mouse because it's the best for RSI that I found. Trick is to keep your hand firmly on the desk.

It's cool, I know the feeling, do you take pain meds now?

Yeah, morphine and oxycodone. Luckily I'm waay down from my max dose in the hospital. Still struggle with physical therapy, especially as I reduce. Been 7 months strait of pt now.

that might be a pygmy jerboa

for the last three months, I had to take a really low dose of oxycodone which I am coming off of, if you ever get nervous about quitting them when the pain leaves I would suggest weaning, there are some tricks I learned which actually make it fun. I prefer not taking them but I have been on them most of my life.

>nervous about quitting
Yeah, I've fucked up so many times and went into withdrawals and the pain spikes on top of it.
Having trouble even weening down. Six years of narcotics does that. I don't know how you do it user, most of your life is a lot.
What's your tricks?

When I ween cut the pills in half and just take the half, when the sweats kick in I take the other half, then later when it hits me the sweats never really went away I take another half, by then I am usually content, I do this until the sweats are completly gone maybe 10 days then cut it in half again. The odd thing is when I do this I will end up taking more milligrams than my normal daily amount would be for a couple of days and my mind is fine, but my body thinks "holy shit it's time to sweat!" I never get full blown sweats or diarrhea, just slightly sweaty and you can't be hard on yourself, if you fuck up who cares sometimes you need a break. I will end up at 0.1mg or maybe less before I get off it, it is hard to tell because then my dose is literally pieces of dust.

basically I space the dose until the sweats are gone which is further apart each day, also there is never a rush and I don't take it too serious or it would become a chore and I wan't to enjoy the sweats and the fuck ups.

What mg pill was prescribed to you?
What's weird is I don't get the sweats. The first signs are an increase in pain until the point I'm in a fetal position. Then I start to do that cry thing and think about killing myself because I don't want to suffer anymore. When I finally get my hands on something it was sweet opiate relief. And I hate to admit that. I was on a boom and bust cycle for awhile.
>mouse thread turns into addiction and pain management thread

Thanks though user.

>I wan't to enjoy the sweats and the fuck ups.

You enjoy that? Good for you m8, I'm not man enough.

I have 15mg and 30mg but right now I am taking 3.5mg cut the 15 into twice and I might drop down in the next week or two

You have to understand I am not in full blown sweats just slightly and I get to feel enjoyable emotions that are unattainable when I am on a normal dose, I was on it for 13 years straight scared to death of the withdraws and this worked without much unpleasantness, just slightly sweaty and I sneeze a lot for two months after I stop.

>I get to feel enjoyable emotions
Damn, that's amazing. I've never had this experience. What's it like if you don't mind me asking.

I'm down to 15mg morphine and 10 sometimes 5 mg oxy.
Was doing 30mg morphine 3x/day plus another 45 fast acting morphine as needed before surgery. It was higher than that after. Just started doing 15mg morphine twice a day instead of three times a day. If my post is full of errors it's because I'm falling asleep.

Just wait until you are ready, after about 8 years it changed something in my brain where it became unenjoyable and I started getting more side effects at I high doses so naturally began lowering it because I felt zombified.

when you take it you lose most of the little feelings that are hard to explain, but it gets replaced with the euphoria so at first you feel better, but as the euphoria fades over the years you then end up taking it and you miss out on both. I would suggest waiting until you are either out of pain or just fed up with it but keep this in the back of your mind so you don't have to be afraid of getting off it like I was. Also if you need something to transition you can always use Kratom.

And by doing it this way you don't get any anxiousness like you would from cold turkey because if you need a little more you can always cut some more.

>Kratom
Yeah, I've come across this in my searches. Interesting plant. When I had my own place I would smoke weed to help. Can't do that anymore. My mom would kill me.
The anxiety sucks. It makes pain worse. I remember taking my last pill and knowing I had to wait until I could refill was stressful as fuck.

> I had to wait until I could refill was stressful as fuck.
I have a doctor that goes on vacation all the time so I learned my lesson and always had to keep at the minimum an extra two weeks worth because who knows when he would be gone, I actually ended up in the hospital over this once. You will not have the anxiety like this.

Yeah, I learned that even if you follow your recommended dose you really need to squirrel away back ups. Hell, I've been delayed by snow and the office closed the day my appointment was. I also had a pain clinic I was going to literally close without warning and I was fucked. The shitty owner told me to go to the emergency room. I said that isn't how it works, they won't give me anything and hung up on his faggot ass.

I've been to the er for pain too many times. Thank goodness I don't have that type of pain anymore. I got labeled a "seeker" even though I explicitly told that bitch I wasn't there for opiates. Found out later when I was getting medical records for surgery.

The first time weaned I did it very slow over 5 months, movies and TV were my best friend, now if I need to go back on it at most I take 7.5 which is usually more than enough with no tolerance, but even if I need it for a week I still ween myself off it because it is much easier on my body than just stopping. The way I found this was when I learned how your brain grows neural networks for the opiates when you up your dose and removes them as you lower it, when parts of the network die off you feel withdraws but you if I do it this way I can manage it and feel almost no withdraws while clearing all those networks which drives your tolerance to nothing, even taking 0.1mg for a few weeks I could still feel the euphoria and that is way below the threshold, they say you are not suppose to feel it at that low of a dose but you will.

I love how we can talk about pills and getting high more than actual fucking ergonomics.

Anyone try vertical mice? Are trackballs/vertical mice bad for gaymen?

Have you considered this?

I forgot to mention that since you will be taking less with each dose but more dosing more often that you will end up taking more milligrams within the day, this will sometimes confuse your body to the point where you get full blown euphoria while your body thinks its detoxing and you will end up sweating, it is kind of funny because you lowering your tolerance while getting fucked up.

That animal doesn't look like a mouse

Sup Forums has been my brain numbing pain killer. I know what you mean about movies and tv. I also do that. It's a distraction from the pain. The brain physically changes, it's amazing.

At least it's semi related and it's not Sup Forums tier getting high 420blaze it fgt posting.
The whole reason I started this thread was because I need solutions for my handicaps.

Since I'm clearly from /o/ among other boards I don't know if this is a serious post or not. If it is I'm open to all possibilities.

By the way I use both hands for my mouse so when the left hurts due to the Cerebral Palsy I switch to the right and it works just as good, not sure if this qualifies for ambidextrous though, do you do that too?

I'd say it qualifies, friend. I've been trying to switch mouse hands too and it's hard.

Didn't realize you are from /o/ I going to take my retarded self to another thread lol

I have two computers so sometimes I will be using both mice at the same time wondering is this normal. just kidding about that nasty /o/ business you guise helped me pick my car.

I've switched mouse hands before a few times. Especially in winter.
Most of my posts have cars in them lol.
No need to leave, this is a pretty comfy thread imo

How the hell are you using two computers at once with two mice? What are your even doing? Legit curious.

And what shitbox did we con you into getting lol

There were times where I was in so much pain I put my keyboard on the floor and started to learn how to control VLC player with it, the space bar was easy, the arrow key were a little tricky, I never quite new what would happen.

The main is Linux Mint and the second is a Win7 gayming PC and I use it for screenwriting that barely touches the internet due to all the virus's out there for windows, so if I need to download something I look it up first on Linux to make sure it's safe and then proceed with the other mirroring the same steps I did before usually at the same time so it goes through the minimum amount of websites.

Audi S4 for half price, if I wreck I will double my money.

I was using my feet for VLC

Fuck user, that's terrible. Hang in there best you can.

Once I can start focusing better I want to mess around with Linux. I fell out of tech when I got hurt and I want to get back in.

Nice. I've driven the twin turbo v6 from the early 2000's iirc and it was a fun car. Also drove an allroad (a wagon) with the same engine. So awesome. Dem turbos were quiet but made addictive noises.

I figured.
> you must be at least 18 to use this site.

Out of curiosity where are you anons from? It's almost 6am on the east coast of the us and I still haven't gone to sleep. Fug

I have the twin turbo, although it is an automatic, I was looking for 6 speed but the price on this for the condition was too good. Here is the interior, it was owned by a rich guy that had it chipped and and put a custom suspension that took it out to race every once in a while, so I have all the records from the master technician.

>autotragic
Even so it's still a fast and fun car. The only thing I hate about Audi is their parts are expensive and some repairs or heck, even changing a headlight bulb can be overly complex and a pain in the ass.

My mechanic was selling it for him and he didn't care about the price he just wanted it sold quick, I miss my 6 speed but I am kind of enjoying this, sometimes my knees dislocate and it can make it painful pushing the clutch, but I love the control of a good 6 speed.

I started having mouse-related trouble 20 years ago. It even affected me so badly I had to ditch regular keyboards entirely. I bought Kinesis Classic, and that helped a lot. Still had to take regular breaks and stretch. Also I replaced mouse with a Cirque touchpad that I simply taped in the middle of the keyboard (since there's a big empty spot there). It works out pretty good for my uses, especially since I tend to use the command line + keyboard shortcuts as much as possible.

Forgot to mention: the old IBM Thinkpad keyboards were also pretty ok for me to type on. But now nobody makes any decent laptop anymore, so I have to bring my keyboard if I'm going to type a lot.

By the way get Linux Mint Cinnamon, it is the best to transition to and it is so much easier to use than windows, once it is installed 95% of everything you will use is pre-installed and ready to go and you never have to worry about viruses.

>but I love the control of a good 6 speed
Yup, it's a fantastic feeling. But it's painful to drive my car still but occasionally I can manage to do it.
Oh wow. What is your ailment user? I'm going to look up your suggestions in a min.

leprosy

What do you think of ubuntu? Pls no bully.
I also need to get rid of norton, I know it's poo in the loo code among other things. Avast perhaps?

I give you Blimp Train™ from /n/
Some user actually animated it for a class and the professor loved it. That was a fun thread.

Damn user. You on antibiotics?

I use one. Saved me from most of my hand and wrist pain. I recommend getting one with 3 real buttons on the finger side (especially for loonix).

I can't gayme with it though.

I wouldn't suggest Ubuntu due to the Unity DE and the fact that they are against 3rd party software, so when you go to use flash or watch a video you find that you have to do some installing which is different than Windows which is can leave a bad first impression. Ubuntu's Unity really sucks they are trying to merge the desktop and tablet with little regard for the end user. Linux Mint has Cinnamon which is very good and similar to windows so I would use that. Here are the reviews for both

I put the wrong Linux Mint video, use this one

Oh shit, I had no idea this existed. This actually might be what I'm looking for.

Anyway, thanks to all you helpful anons. This is one of those rare threads that are laid back and everyone is chill. Max comfy. Good night anons, stay based.

Goodnight, I had fun.

Thanks, I'll check them out when I wake up. I'm looking for a better alternative to the inevitable windows 10 upgrade
rape.
You guys have been so friggin helpful you don't even know. Thank you all so much, I have a few starting points now.

Me too user. Ok, out for real this time. Good night

Tendonitis in the wrist area and lower arms.
But I also had a very unergonomic setup, with the mouse up high, and for my work I had to constantly move my arm between the keyboard tray (below desk) and the mouse (on top of desk) for cut & paste, and this somehow also affected my back and shoulder to some degree. It was a very stressful tech support job, where I had to handle many cases per hour, with lots of manual-intensive work.
After that I moved to programming, and it was better because I could work at my own pace. And also the keyboard/touchpad setup helped a lot too.

im 34 years old fag

What are you doing here, shouldn't you be on reddit? Most old timers I know use that.

reddit sucks, i like anonymity. I mostly lurk, not too good at interacting.

Thanks just signed up for Steemit I have been out of the crypto game for about a year but I still have a lot of altcoins, it would be nice to see one take off that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
