y tho

Read the OP subject u dumdum :^)

I'm already using the laptop of choice for furthering human knowledge and civilization. Why would I use a facebook/starbucks machine?

Thinkpad T460s/XPS 13
For mobility

Precision 5510/ HP zbook Studio when you need a lot of Power and nice Design

What is the fire suppression test? Like how well you can put out a fire by hitting it with a thinkpad?

>tfw I can just put an image in the EFI partition of my HP elitebook and it will be the custom bootscreen
Even lelnovo can't do that

That's nice dear.

Now go do your chores before grandma comes round.

The current generation of Thinkpads isn't that impressive. They're moving away from metal builds and falling for the touchscreen and thinness memes.

Surface Book is the future, but it still has too many 1st generation problems to iron out. 8GB RAM standard, good battery, 3:2 screen, and none of that Core M bullshit. I think Dell may be the only other manufacturer to have a flagship laptop worth a damn.

You'd look pretty weird if you had to boot up your computer at a meeting and your waifu came up on the screen, user.

Sager Notebooks

...

Surface Book is even more delicate than current thinkpads. I fell for this meme, and as I type this, I have to be careful to not jostle the computer too much, or the shitty hinge will fail, the tablet will become briefly disconnected from the power supply in the base, and everything will force shutdown after about 20 seconds of angry rapid fire beeping.

Surface Pro is pretty nice though.

SNSV won.

pic related. girls think it's a macbook, keyboard is luxurious, ssd is fast as fuck (9 sec reboot), touchscreen is lovely
>im sorry youre too poor to experience a good touchscreen laptop
also runs lincuks like a champ

>that bezel
Truly disgusting. At least it's not silver/back like facebook machines.

>spectre 360
>not spectre 13

I don't get it. Why is the screen so far up on the monitor? isn't that extra space that could be used for more screen? Why have a huge black bar like that?

It makes it look like it's made out of megablocks or something, to a thinkpad's legos.

>runs linux like a champ
>not on the ubuntu certified hardware list

Hahahahaha. No.

>one random key on the keyboard is constantly illuminated even when you turn keyboard lighting off

Thinkpad X1 carbon.

XPS 9550, MacBook pro, Razer Blade 2016
There you have it. The three all round laptops. Some people have more specific use cases so they might disagree, but these are the choices most people would agree on

Yes, no, yes.

What's wrong with the MBP?

The specs/price is in the same bracket as the XPS and the Blade. Build quality is slightly better or at least on par; and it doesn't look full on autismo like the Blade.

Most people won't agree on macs, as they are a controversial subject to begin with. You can get large arguments about their pricing, their unethical manufacture, and the shitty culture that surrounds them.

Thinkpad X

>and the shitty culture that surrounds them.
Never quite understood this. I mean, it's not high school anymore where the people associated with stuff in any way matter to me. I simply never had any contact whatsoever with the supposed "shitty culture".

considering picking up XPS notebook plus razer core

You must not have been on Sup Forums very long then.

>what's wrong with an 800mhz facebook machine

They're solid machines but they're way too expensive for what you're getting, they haven't been refreshed in over a year and they get blown out of the water by the XPS in the specs/price department.

>haven't been refreshed in over a year
>A year

>haslel
>2016

1070m laptops when?

XPS is a gamble.

>Current release

But CumPads are one of the best laptops out there, not much more makes sense.

Either you're poor and buy a "good enough" used laptop for minimal price, or you spend a bit bigger sum of money for the very best, which is sadly just Apple.

All the memes like XPS aren't good enough to excuse the price nor cheap enough to take them over Macbooks.

Because 16:10 screens are more expensive and this is a budget product with a pricetag of a premium product.

The fuck are you talking about? You get way better specs for the money with the XPS over the retina MBPs, you're paying a several 100 dollar premium for arguably better build quality and different software with the MBP.

>>Current release
>haslel

>You get way better specs for the money with the XPS over the retina MBPs
That's simply not true, at best you could argue that it has a higher screen resolution, which brings more downsides than positives, specially on Windows or Linux. Also it's 16:9.

Other than that, they are very similar, XPS got a newer CPU until Macbook refresh is released but given that rMBP got a 28W instead of a 15W CPU, i7 from XPS is pretty much identical with i5 from rMBP. As is the rest like SSD size and speed.

>you're paying a several 100 dollar premium for arguably better build quality
And a much better trackpad and better battery life. Pretty important things for a laptop I'd say.

The software itself is an even bigger factor worth much more than 100 bucks but it's hard to make discussions about that objective.

>higher screen resolution, which brings more downsides than positives
>b-b-but when apel has high res screens it's a positive!!!!
Go back to /r/eddit mactoddler.

>macshit
>battery life

Even gamer trash with 10x the processing power get better battery life than macshit. Enjoy 50% of your facebook machine's weight being in the battery at the cost of performance and still getting utter shit battery life.

No trackpad can beat the clit.

Thinkpads win again.

>16:9

Better than 16:10 shit, that's for sure.

>b-b-but when apel has high res screens it's a positive!!!!
Because they hit a reasonable balance between resolution and battery life, unlike the 6h on XPS with 4k.

Also there is not much use for high resolution screen if the OS you going to run doesn't support scaling well.

It would be news to me that XPS has a clitmouse. I mentioned Chinkpads as the very best budget version already; but you must be deluded if you think they matter in the premium sector.

Besides, clit - trackpad is a lot down to preference either way.

...

>Because they hit a reasonable balance between resolution and battery life
Here's (You)

It's surprisingly effective!

>HP
>not EliteBook
Enjoy having it break after two years I guess.

This. 16:10 and 16:9 are near indistinguishable in real use, except 16:10 produces fucking hideous black bars when watching media.

For anyone that cares about vertical space they're both shit, and a 3:2 Surface works far better for "muh productivity depends so much on vertical spaec".

16:10 wankery is solely from mactard shills that have completely and utterly run out of things to defend on their overheating throttling facebook machines.

...

>oh shit, I can't refute a fact, gotta post something out of my meme folder

>16:10 and 16:9 are near indistinguishable in real use
If the "real use" is gayming or watching movies, people who buy laptops tend to care about a bit more. Besides 16:9 tends to add an ugly lower bezel to your budget product priced at a premium.

>3:2 Surface works far better for "muh productivity depends so much on vertical spaec"
It's pretty much identical to 16:10 for productivity.

>your budget product priced at a premium.
The ironing.

>16:10
>shit for media
>shit for productivity
Fucking disgusting.

>APPLE IS SO OVERPRICED BECAUSE I CAN'T AFFORD IT

>unironically defending poverty aspect ratio
Yap, summer arrived.

>Yap, summer arrived.
This.

>he thinks apple products are even remotely expensive
>when mcdonalds burger flippers driver around $10,000 cars
Spotted the literal welfare nigger. How many food stamps did you trade for your McBook nigglet?

>tfw bought a Samsung Ativ Book

>macfag can't refute fact, gotta pull out his "apel is prmiem produx!" maymay

Keep defending your budget product priced at a premium.

>he thinks apple products are even remotely expensive
That's what poor people like you preach, I never said that.

>when mcdonalds burger flippers driver around $10,000 cars
Sounds like you're doing well. If you keep working hard, you will be able to afford a macbook next! Don't give up, poor friend.

>mcnigglet still trying to paint his povertybook as some kind of unattainable object

Stay poor macfag.

But really, 16:9 just looks cheesy as fuck compared to 16:10.

...

look mom i posted it again! xD

>windows performance
>relevant
Also please, do check the site and their final rating and don't pick the facts like the desperate poorfag you are...

notebookcheck.net/Apple-MacBook-Pro-Retina-15-Mid-2015-Review.144402.0.html

>85% for the worst Apple product since 11" Air that got an outdated CPU
Man, Macs sure suck. Also while you're at it, check their toplist for subnotebooks.

>Sup Forums tard is out of Apple memes

They're all terrible compared to 3:2

Checked

>macshit
>relevant

Showing off any sort of 'premium' computers makes you seem poor in general.

>faggot pretends that there is a relevant difference while never using either of the screens

Spotted the 16:10 poorfag.

>"I-if I call him poorfag, it means that I am not a poorfag anymore, r-right?"

Stay mad poorfag.

Now how will that allow you to afford a decent screen, friend?

Try and tell me that this doesn't have the greatest touchpad on a laptop ever

>small
>physical buttons
Welcome to 2016, time traveler.

$1500 gets you a 13 inch rMBP with a quad core i5 processor or a 15 inch Dell XPS 15 with quad core i7 processor and a dedicated GPU. The $2000 rMBP has a quad core i7 but no dedicated GPU. You have to spend more than $1000 extra to even beat it in benchmarks

Thinkpads on the ISS got replaced by HP ZBook 15's user

For one, you got your prices messed up a bit.

Other than that, you're comparing 13 with 15, and please don't bother with the LE SMALL BEZELS. They won't negate the huge size difference.

Also lolbenchmarks. This is where software comes into the play and depends entirely on what you do. Something like video editing would be still faster on a mac for example. Most of CS stuff probably faster on the Dell.

youtube.com/watch?v=KnapaZYD2cU

They weren't replaced, they just added more.

>Other than that, you're comparing 13 with 15,
XPS15 is the same size as your steaming pile of shit Memebook 13. Deal with it.

>This is where software comes into the play and depends entirely on what you do.
Exactly. No one gives a shit about your blurry ass pixelated 20kbps videos on iMovie Pro. Anyone of importance ditched iShit for Premiere half a decade ago.

>iMovie
>Premiere
Final Cut it is, nigga

You misspelled iMovie.

Not even Applel gives a shit about FC anymore.

if budget is not a problem, rMBP.

Everything else is one step bellow, unless you're a gamer fag underage kid

ayy

Which makes it even more sad that it's faster than the competition.

If budget is not a problem, Precision M6800

Everything else is one step below, unless you're a starbucks fag underage kid

It actually isn't when you don't purposefully turn off background rendering in Premiere. Fuck off shill.

>Precision M6800
Retarded.

Macbooks have unmatched software-hardware integration. You can't match it.

Only underage gamer kids and jelly poorfags would deny it.

>unmatched software-hardware integration.

Stay poor jelly starbucks fag underage kid.

>Unmatched precision that can't be matched

Spotted the Apple™ Marketing Genius™

>he can't even follow a simple youtube video

>posting cropped articles and pictures like they mean something

How many of those have you saved in your computer? You must be really jelly

rMBP is literally the best notebook.

>throttling overheating facebook machine
>best anything

How is poverty treating you?

Even your dump fact picking meme image got ML winning at every relevant metric.

How gives a fuck if you reach more points in a benchmark if actual tasks like ripping music or copying folders are slower?

>macshit
Retarded.

>he has a folder full of cropped articles dedicated to apple

lmaoing @ ur life

From the same source:

>This time, we want to start our verdict with the negative aspects, and there are some despite the final rating of 88%
>despite the final rating of 88%

>On the other hand, you get advantages like the (especially in OS X) great TouchPad, the extremely fast PCIe-SSD or the surprisingly long battery runtimes for this notebook class. Apple puts all of this in a flawless aluminum unibody chassis, which is still the quality benchmark even three years after its launch.

>All things considered, the Apple MacBook Pro Retina is probably still the best multimedia notebook on the market – but the competition is closing the gap pretty quickly.
