So are HP laptops good, or bad?

So are HP laptops good, or bad?
Thinking of getting the spectre 13 and I can't tell. People here usually say it's shit but my friend has a stream 11 and it looks quite nice.

Plus I saw this last night so I'm not sure, will I regret buying HP?

I only had one HP laptop in my life.
Great portable heater, not so great computer.
This was almost 10 years ago though, so they might've improved.

Thanks for the input, not sure if it's possible for an ulv to overheat as much as older 35w chips

used to work at a place that used a lot of them, they were always hot as fuck. this was like two years ago.

Depends on what you buy. The EliteBook 8570W I had was pretty decent. Kinda heavy though.

I bought one of these, and for $419 it went better than expected.

Not bad but there are always better alternatives even when you consider price/specs so unless you have no options don't fear

Wait for the Zenbook3

>not zenbook pro

My experience with hp includes getting two free laptops because the hard drives failed in them and the owners didn't know how or want to replace them. I slapped new hard drives in and sold them.

I've heard their high end stuff is supposed to be pretty nice though.

Personally though I think I'd still go with the dell xps 13 if you wanted something similar to the spectre

>asus
Fuck off

That describes every Vista-era laptop.

They're bad, some of the worst.

Only the business ones. The consumer ones, and their budget clones (Compaq) are shit.

What makes them worse than other brands?

Almost 13 years old and still works fine. Battery died 5 years ago so I just keep it as a backup.

I own a pretty cheap HP laptop, it's got a shit processor in it but it runs okay if you don't want to multitask at all. (HP 15-f004dx)

It's fairly light laptop but it's very well made. It has 3-4 hour battery life if you aren't trying to play any games on it.

Currently I run ubuntu MATE and use it purely for accessing my bank account and emails, it does the job well.

I've bitched and moaned about this laptop on Sup Forums before but it has it's uses, have a desktop computer now, so I'm not stuck with it.

They really aren't bad now

if you get a good deal go for it as long as you are getting Spectre or the G business line

Spectre will do shitposting and media enjoyment just fine

wtf is cortana premium

My family has used HP computers forever. They never shat themselves, just became obsolete. I have a high-end dv6 which is 4 years old. Works perfectly.

However, go for the business ones. The Elitebook and Probook are all power without the gimmicks on the consumer versions. You can option them even down to having a webcam or not. Plus the business laptops all have matte displays (I think they all do.)

I will forever buy HP printers, but will never again by an HP laptop -- we have the pro models at work and they are constantly sending them out for repairs.

I use an HP desktop at work though, and it works fine.

hp laptops can be good or bad
all depends on the model

Can't you say that about every manufacturer?
Why does HP get bashed so much then?

HP literally stands for Hinge Problems these days.
Avoid

She strips on your desktop

Their low end is lower than the rest.

You mean like the HP stream 11?

are HP laptops still overheating pieces of shit?

why? asus laptops are bretty gud actually

Elitebooks are HP's thinkpads
You'll only have those recommended here

I still have my first HP laptop from maybe 2001 works just fine.

I am sitting on an HP envy at the moment, it was relatively cheap 700$ish, the specs are really good and battery life is something like 6-7 hours.

The Lowest end like A4 i3 or lower Just avoid regardless of company. A10 i5 and better goes into the better laptops and it should work great.

Another thing about HP, they often have these Sporadic Sales, like if You surf for coupons or Just general retailer websites You will eventually run into a deal to good to pass up.

Finally I hear HP's high end costly stuff is really high end.

All consumer are shit and all business are low speck and over price
The best thing you can do is pick the one with the best warranty and parts availability.

Far better deal

>3.5gb

Better than 2 in the Zenbook. Stop being such a fucking faggot.

I've got an HP Ae123nd, a more high end model. When using it for really CPU heavy usage (I.E vidya gayming), the CPU can heat up to around 90 celsius. Can be fixed by just putting a cooling pad under there.

Cooling pads help if it has good ventilation. They work great on my friends HP but they work like shit on my Samsung laptop.

Pic related is the Samsung.

>tfw using Vista-era HP laptop as a main machine to this day

The HP laptop has a lot of vents under it so it works breddy gud.

Yeah, his hp has an aluminum base with lots of vents for air. My samsung is a blocked off plastic heat box.

That fermi GPU doesn't help.
