If you would like to try out GNU/Linux you can do one of the following:
0) Install a GNU/Linux distribution of your choice in a Virtual Machine using VirtualBox or other software made for this puporse for safety purposes.
1) Use the Live ISO (if your distribution of choice has one) to boot directly into the GNU/Linux distribution without installing anything, that way, you can get to experience the GNU/Linux operating system without installing it.
2) Dual boot the GNU/Linux distribution of your choice along with Windows or macOS, this is recommended if you want to know more about the GNU/Linux operating system.
3) Go balls deep and replace everything with GNU/Linux.

How about no?

Yeah crazy stupid retard
sudo mkdir -p /var/cache/apt/archives/partial
sudo touch /var/cache/apt/archives/lock
sudo chmod 640 /var/cache/apt/archives/lock

Sasha grey uses propritary hardware, to produce her propritary movies, which are not free and cannot be distributed or sold

>touch
>molesting his apt lock file
Please, just don't touch and then cp

Pretty clearly a GIMP'd image.
>careful not to say photoshopped

But why would be support here? She is an enemy of the free

Who the fuck put a picture of a whore in the OP?

DELETE THIS

Stallman uses hardware which is cast using proprietary design software and mould designs. He also utilizes aeroplanes and ships which are designed using proprietary software and use proprietary software to function. He also listens to music which was record, mixed and mastered using proprietary software.

fuckk off and kill yourself

>He also listens to music which was record, mixed and mastered using proprietary software.

I highly doubt that. Have you heard him sing?

stallman is not a philosophically pure person. he follows his ideals when convenient, and ignores them or slightly alters them when the conflict isn't worth it.

stallman is an egoist in denial, afraid of admitting that he just wants some fucking source code instead of a world where he has to rely on other people because he knows he wouldn't get it that way.

his system has some practical merits but his attempts at creating moral justifications are completely pathetic and nonsensical. how low do you have to be to have to make up bullshit "oughts" when you can just say "it would be fucking better"?

Hey guys I might be about to interview with a department lead for a DevOps engineer position.

I think they use google hangouts.
Should I boot into Windows for this or is there an actual solution to video chat on Arch/Ubuntu?

You are asking if he has ever heard music?

You should watch some of his speeches to fully understand him.

You can take apart and study "proprietary hardware", and even modify it if you wanted to to suit your needs

There is nothing he can stay to me, in any timeline, any dimension, that would benifit my life

Tell them Google doesn't respect your essential freedoms and you'd be happy to correspond with them ethically via the post.

>no need to educate myself about the topic, I already know it better

>listening to neckbear who has no accomplishments since the early 90's

>Free as in free beer, not as in freedom.
Stallman hates freedom.
Fucking anti-American Stallmanazi's

Look who's talking.

Where the fuck is he getting all this free beer anyways? I want in.

How stupid are you exactly?

I see a lot of people with a /bin/ folder in their home directory, I assume it's for their own scripts?

Also, this
#!/bin/sh
feh --bg-scale '/home/user/data/pictures/wallpaper/wallpaper01.png'

is a script right?

like six or sleven

Yes, but it needs to be executable (chmod +x file) and your ~/.bin directory must be in your $PATH if you want to use it as regular command from any location.

...

I'm looking at yakyak right now and it seems like garbage.
Any alternatives to google hangouts besides USPS?

tfw

Having sex =/= being a whore. Apply your judgment to men the same way and see how stupid you are.
And no I'm neither a feminist nor a grill, just fucking think and let people who have pleasure freely without hurting anyone have their way without insulting them. I'm a virgin too so I can see how you can get frustrated but please.

How do I do that? I want to move this file to /home/bin, currently it's on my /home.

Who is this semen demon?

What would RMS's stand look like?

>Apply your judgment to men the same way
>implying I don't

Go back to Tumblr you piece of human trash.

Ariana Grande

>How do I move a file
I think that's beyond the skill level of anyone in this thread.
Their main skill is flaming.

mv myscript ~/bin
chmod +x ~/bin/myscript
export PATH="$PATH:$HOME/bin"
myscript

How can you apply you judge men the sae way when there is not equivalent for whore for men?
Also, what is a whore?
Someone having lots of sex?
And? What are you, jealous?
Is it a crime?

...

I'm bored of Ubuntu Mate. Suggestions for something a bit more customizable? Debating going back to Arch.

Jesus christ man speak english.

The girl in the OP is a literal prostitute. Are you retarded?

master_lock_shitty_key_analogy.jpg.exe

Try Solaris, dude.

About time you installed Gentoo.

>compiling from source every time
>on Sup Forums
How's your life going? Do you need me to come over honey?
- Mom

Oh God. I have to use Oracle Enterprise Linux and Oracle databases at work. I felt my butthole clench.

Well sorry I'm actually not english or murrican. Please point my mistakes if you got some times thanks.

>The girl in the OP is a literal prostitute
Not in a bad way. It's bad if you're a prostitute because your situation forces you too or because you have mental problems, if you are unsane.
From what I know, she's perfectly at peace with herself and just having fun.

Workbench 2.0

Haha same, we run a bunch of VMs off of solaris and people crash them every other week. So much down time. Not really solaris's fault, but still.

>2.0
1.3 masterrace

Discussing other operating systems is prohibited.

>From what I know, she's perfectly at peace with herself and just having fun.

Yes, porn stars are perfectly well-adjusted, happy people...

There's just so much retardery with Oracle DB.

WHY THE FUCK DOES THE DUAL TABLE EXIST

> select 4;
NOT OK
>select 4 from dual
HUNKY DORY

>I've got one fictitious counterexample
"Everybody freeze. What's going on here?"

fedora or debian and why?

I'd assume Ron Jeremy is a pretty happy guy.

debian, freedom

debian because your gay and redhat is hitler

I'm confused. Is this a GNU/Linux thread or a Sasha Grey hate thread.

Debian. Fedora is AIDS

>implying anyone cares about the slut's name

I like her.

Well I guess I'll stop the discussion here seeing how you think, but yes, "deviant" people can be perfectly happy. A friend of mine is a pro domina and if you didn't knew it you wouldn't know, she's adorable and intelligent.

>Be me
>Be DevOps engineer candidate
>Interviewer's first question: "How does HTTP work?"
>Persistent or non-persistent?
Did I fuck up or am I now employed?

>if you didn't knew it you wouldn't know

Impenetrable logic. I can tell because of the way that it is.

Ah I see what happened here. Your 'friend' cucked you out and convinced you it's okay.

You'll make it buddy, just let her go.

This made me laugh way harder than it should have.

>tfw I've missed the last two threads cause uni
I miss the old days when I could sit all day and shitpost.
Also, what do you use to keep your scheulde? Testing taskwarrior but I'm not sure it suits me, any recommendations?

...

A paper calendar.

>Also, what do you use to keep your scheulde?

I just use a simple text file and organize things by the day they should be finished by.

so what do i look at if i want to transition from windows to something else

is it on the wiki?

also some other anons were saying mint is a good choice but one of em said it was shit, thoughts on that? is mint a good transition

please don't install mint without a valid reason
Ubuntu is the beginner distro, but you should disable unity and the update manager asap

...

Under no circumstances should you listen to anything on the fucking Sup Forums wiki. It's pure autism.

Just pick a popular distro and try it out. Use a search engine when you encounter issues.

Mint prefers stability over security, it basically blocks "dangerous" updates, that makes the system stable, but also insecure.

neat is there any good resource for installing ubuntu

also any reason why its the preferred beginners os

What are you talking about? I'm laughing so hard at how people love making stupid assumptions and how close-minded they are.

Mint is a good transition. I would recommend Ubuntu for starting out, since there's a fuckton of support and is very Google-friendly and retard-friendly. There's value in "just using what everyone else uses" as far as support goes.

Oh I thought we were doing a "make up a backstory for the other person and base our argument on that" thing.

It has a GUI for almost everything.
You could probably get away with never opening the terminal if you really needed to.
Mint might not be that different.

>install Ubuntu MATE
>it ACTUALLY just werks

holy fuck, Linux is fun when it actually works.

based Compiz and wobbly windows

Ok.
Jesus. Have a nice day.

This. There is very little reason to use the command line for basic tasks, Mint/Ubuntu do a good job of hiding the hard stuff from the user.

>Compiz
Goodbye CPU

>Also, what do you use to keep your scheulde?
When you're NEET, what day it is no longer matters.

Please stop recommending Mint ppl.

I use MATE and have annoyances with the volume taskbar thing, there ought to be a better way to toggle between targeting the analog audio and USB headset.

okay, why is fedora & redhat bad though?

I read something about them being partially funded by one of the 3 letters - how is that so?

also, stable or testing debian?
I already have this on dvd as you see in pic related but I learned from anons a while ago that testing does not = instability

which of these
cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/8.5.0/amd64/bt-dvd/
is the version I should download? I can't tell the difference between DVD 1, DVD2, DVD 3

pls spoonfeed and respond

I only see one person who actually said anything positive about Mint.
Maybe this one, but slightly negative.

No. Mint master race.

What terminal do you use?
>inb4 "I just click on the button that says terminal"

You are aware that you're bending over and spreading your ass yelling "WELCOME" to every script kiddie checking 0day kernel exploits?

>implying 90% of people here don't use their computer solely to shitpost on Sup Forums

I installed a new moonrune font for use in one application and it seems to have made itself the default font for moonrunes everywhere. It's very unreadable at standard sizes, so its annoying.

How do I fix this?

I_just_click_on_the_button_that_says_terminal.jpg.sh

I have never had reason to switch. I've used Arch before for about 18 months and just dgaf about most choices it gives you.

Depends on your DE/WM. Which are you using?

GNOME Shell.

PS: Openbox master race though. One thing I sort of miss.

pretty sure xterm comes on every standard debian-based install.
Could be wrong.
Definitely comes with ubuntu.
