Bamping for old computer boxes

>speccy thread

What's the actual speed of this thing? 24bits/s?

bump

...

You really like those machines, don't you?

Loved line printers. even the slowest could do 400 lines per minute, and can your laser do 4-part stationery?
IBM used to come out with a new way of printing every year.
Chain printers (1403), train printers (3211), belt printers (3288), laser printers (3800), wheel printers, stud printers, inkjet printers. You name it.
I once wasted several boxes of fan-fold stationery by printing out the entirety of the comp.sys.apple2 news group on our "Tree Eater" 3800 printer in the Data Centre.
Luckily it went unnoticed, even when I did it twice.

Bamp, where are all the awesome shitboxes?

My wife in our den

>NSA bird
kek

Heh. I re-named that pic especially for this thread

Time to upgrade dude.

>PC and Amiga
careful there you are playing with fire

>x86 boxes have no soul

Seen that one.
As I already have said.
Idiot. Any machine has a soul if you put one in it.

He's the kind of person that makes Amiga folk look bad.

I'd fuck her on the spot

I wonder if she fooled around with the other engineers

Say that to my face motherfucker.

How's the Sup Forums telnet program going?
Also, never noticed before, are you running GEM in that picture?

Its going well, I'm going to try and finish it off this weekend.
And yeah, I've got GEM installed.

Awesome! Will it be a gift for us all?

I'll stick it up on my VPS as soon as its stable.
May post the source on bitbucket too.

That's great, good luck!
Can't wait to try it!

Had to sell it all :(

Oh god why? I could never sell something like that, that's beautiful!

How much did you get for that lot?

Fuck yea

Radeon 9800 Pro 128M

I was unemployed for longer than I thought I would be, had only really planned for 3 months but it ended up being 5 months; so just needed the money for rent and food.

sgi i got like $120, quadra i parted out, got like $30 for mobo and $30 for psu, but it had an ultra rare 80mhz 601 card w 4 72 pin ram slots, only got a measily $180 for one of rarest and fastest quadra upgrades ever

I just farted.
I have a box on top of a wardrobe full of mostly AGP video cards, all inside antistatic bags and working, around 30 of them, kek.

Aw shit, that sucks, especially if you have to sell something rare for cheap because you have no other choice.

the iifx i got like $90, the Mac II and IIx I barely made anything on, maybe like $10 profit each after shipping. I got about $100 for the //e, I got like $150 for the Sun Ultra 2, the oscilloscope I got like $20 for

pictured there was not even half my collection, I had lots of other stuff, mostly Apple but also SGI and Sun. Also tons of rare NuBus cards

That's cool.

I upgraded the fuck outta this. running debian and openbox, the dual 300MHz CPUs browsed the web fine as long as i wasnt visiting bloated web pages. had 2GB RAM, a 9GB SCSI drive, and a 15MB framebuffer card

It's beautiful user!

...

yea one of my favorite computers Ive ever owned.

heres the inside

BTW, Im in USA, and some dude in Russia bought it off me

Holy shit.

This Green SGI got pretty demolished in shipping. I didnt pack it well enough. The guy was pissed, but once I explained I had to sell everything I loved in order to eat he sorta just dropped it. I offered to send him all sorts of random old computer stuff but he just wanted that SGI

ooh found some more pics... still looking for that 80mhz powerpro 601 though

HERES THE BOX!

Underratedpost
Phwar!
BLIMEY!

Wanted Sun Microsystems and SIlicon Graphics.
Not dissapointed.

Here is my BS:
See anything you want info I'll get a proper picture and tell you about it.

The amstrad I got as a amstrad bundle for £20 to test a 6128 base.

I had one of the newer Dells like you have pictured

FYI caps on the mainboard started bulging and the machine would constantly power off randomly

About 6 hours before it's recycled. Kinda a damn shame, but it's not worth it to me to buy it... already bought a bunch of 5.25 floppies and the like.

Box pic.

>friends all have shitty FX5200's
>they bought them because 4200Ti was a great gaming card

>I got this
>Playing CS:S maxed without a hitch
>They all struggling, have to use shitty looking DX8 mode

Haven't decided to strip the paint and use bare metal, or repaint yet.

Also need to figure out removing these stain spots on the caps, without taking off the pad-printed front legends.
