Please ignore the LG shills above, the G4 is a miserably horrible device.

>LG Bloat
>still lags but less
>heavy games run like crap (PokemonGO)
>gets hot
>battery life is a bit better but still suck(4h SoT)
>flash Cyanogenmod
>Camera becomes shitty

Just don't.

is this guy right?

Daily reminder that the only good android phones are the 6P, the S7, and the HTC10 and even the android flagships can't match the level of refinement that Apple offers. Once the 2018 iPhone comes out with OLED and a return to glorious glass design it'll be over once and for all.

what about the g5?

>HTC 10 is $600 plus $50 tax

I want it but so I want it that bad

I'm looking for a phone with these features. I'm in the US.

>No contract or no Verizon.
>Android
>2g of ram or higher
>4.3. Android or higher (If you can run it, post pictures)
>Good MP3 support
>Headphone jack support
>GPS support
>Not RL ready for importing phones

I have found two moto G phones and a samsung s7 that could work. Do you guys have any suggestions for android phones for a podcast addict?

Pretty much any flagship or mid end phone meets these criteria.

I'm looking for unlocked phone for around $350. I'm in the US

Your criteria apply to almost anything, at this point you can roll a dice. If dubs, you buy a used Galaxy S1.

If you're looking for a budget phone the Nexus 5x fits all of that IIRC

Alright. I did answer my own question.

I want to help my mom with finding a less lemon phone. She's not lucky with her phone purchases. Bumping her iPhone into an open container of soda was her latest mishap.

Despite that, thank you for the feedback and the confidence.

>sdcardandshittyopinions.png

Or you could not be poor/retarded and buy sufficient storage for your needs.

>but an SD card is way cheaper

You're comparing flash storage to an SD card, not a relevant comparison.

s7 active

Got my s7 edge yesterday after my Nexus 5 finally died, loving the phone so far.

Have you heard about the headphone jack?

YOu fucking cuck.

GO back to drinking Jobs' piss.

Well you can get a xperia z1c for $200~ I can't remember if it is a 2013 or 2014 phone. I have one, still using it.

You mean the ability to now use external DAC's and not be locked in to whatever quality DAC they put in the phone as an afterthought? An adapter is included and when attached to headphones it'll be just the same as before.

>but I can't charge and listen at the same time

A pretty rare scenario and I'd give this up any day to have access to external DACs and another speaker.

Xiaomi Mi Max 2/16

vs

Redmi Note 3 Pro 3/32

SERIOUS RESPONSES ONLY

What are you smoking? Listening to and charging your phone happen simultaneously pretty often and you can get an external dac and adapter for literally any phone as is.

>having access to an external DAC and another speaker.

And don't even bring up front facing speakers. Nobody has yet to make an implementation that isn't ugly.

The big difference I can forsee is in the ROM

is the Mi Max rom cucked? Seems completely iClone.

Currently no phone right now, using iPhone 6s as daily from work.

Nexus 6p is going for $347 on jet.com right now. Is this a sweet deal for a no phone guy?

I was underwhelmed with the Nexus 5x, had planned to get the Moto X Pure but lol Lenovo.

Had Nexus 5 before the digitizer died. Help me my dearest Sup Forums

>needs change
>(on android) better get a new SD card
>(on iOS) better get a new phone

Good one!

The most I would pay for a 6P right now is $400
so yes, a 6P at 350 is a great deal 2bh

ayy it arrived at last

>sell android "flagship" 2 years later
>worth $200
>sell latest iPhone
>worth $400-500

Same goes for my MacBook. Every 3 years I can sell it and buy a brand new one for $200-$300.

I don't think something fits this bill, but let's try

- Budget: Unlimited
- microSD
- Unlocked bootloader/ROM support
- Removable battery

Hard mode: works on Verizon
Impossible mode: under $300

Is there anything, Sup Forums?

RN3P

Nice, how long did it take?

That's the thing with iphones/macs, really fucking expensive to get into, but really healthy aftermarket for constant upgrades.

Probably LG V10.

just curious can you tell me why you feel this way?

I'm genuinely asking because I'm really on the fence about picking it up.

Because the next generation of Nexus devices are about to launch in ~2 months, therefore the 6P/5X should be going on sale to a permanent ~350-399 (for the 6p).
It's a really solid device, and you'll get android N and O at the very least. On top of a pretty solid camera, great design, stock android... I mean it's the definitive android device right now. If it had a microsd slot it would be perfection imo.

Is the Galaxy s5 worth it?

I am looking into buy an Att Note 4 with a ZeroLemon 10000mha rugged battery case for $225 altogether (Merican)

Am I getting a good deal? The guy is a nerdy PC gamer type who has taken immaculate care of his phone, so there's no chips, cracks or scratches. He's selling it for money to go to a con.

Is there anything I can do to/with a Note to make it run better? Any have to have accessories or apps I need to get?

how much

you'll probably want it rooted
look around to get a glimpse of the procedure for the device

awesome thanks so much for this user. You're a gentleman and a scholar.

>LG V10.

Huh, how about that. Only the Tmo is bootloader unlocked but it does check all the boxes. Thanks, user.

Probably look into the other LG devices then like the G5. I don't know if they hit every single checkbox, but they're really the only high end devices offering remo battery + sd

Its 240$ new.

I feel like LG is kind of a nest of problems. Sup Forums hasn't had a lot of good stuff to say about their phones. Bootloop issue on the G4 comes to mind.

Fair point.

yes

You can look into the S5 then.

Why isn't this productchart.com/
in the OP?

Pretty useful 2bh
Including the ability to search for smartphones with removable battery productchart.com/smartphones/sets/3
and a similar smartphone search
productchart.com/smartphones/similar

I'm deciding between the LG G5 and the Galaxy S7, thoughts?

I was going to complain at you for shilling but that's actually a great site. Thank you.

S7

OP3 beats both of them easy unless you care really a lot about the wide shooter on the G5.

So I'm fucked with buying LG, can rooting help me move apps to sd card? Apparently Marshmallow's "sd card to internal storage" doesn't exist in LG.

do you absolutely have to do it? I'm no expert but my experience is that android hates apps on sd and it creates all sorts of issues on the long run.

HTC One a9
LG G4
Nexus 6P
Samsung S6
or 1 day access to the Goat Tower

My internal storage is just 8 fucking GB. I probably just install it for game apps or not-important apps there while the important apps will be in true internal storage.

Bought the 6P in gold for $346. Most I've spent on a phone, hopefully it's damn good

Thoughts on One Plus 3?

>Typical social apps: Snapchat/Facebook/IG

>Whatsapp/Texts

>WiFi Spotify / YouTube

>No Gaming except for Pokemon GO

>Decent phone speakers

Not sure if I'm overspending but want to use the phone for at least 2 years

Is there ANY reason to believe that the Axon 7 is the best phone?

Waiting on the nexus, but axon 7 appears to be god-tier.

No real reason, just a lot of anonymous opinions

Camera isn't quite Samsung S7 good (night/low light sucks), Chink and locked bootloader so support down the line might be iffy. Battery could be bigger. Supposedly the speakers aren't as good as others, but who the fuck uses their phones speakers to play music?

None of those are deal breakers, unlike the fucking 1+3's lack of a SD card, or the S7/top tier phone pricetags.

>Decent phone speakers.
Nope

I meant to say ISN'T the best phone?

Don't care for camera, I have a dslr. Only thing that slightly concerns me is the chinese development - better said, the support won't be there. But I agree, they really aren't deal breakers.

Woops I meant,
> these are factors I want out of a phone. Simple but I want them to work near flawlessly.

You're telling me they're not even decent? Compare it to... A nexus 5 where they are quiet as fuck with zero bass. Because I need an improvement from that.

I still have a G3 and Pokemon Go runs fine other than the fact that the game is shit

So if I mostly care about battery life and camera, which phone should I get? I'm willing to pay about 400€.

Just ordered the 5X. I can't hold off on getting a new phone anymore. As good as the 4 is I just can't stand the poor battery and not having LTE.

I have the choice to choose between getting an LG G4 and a Oneplus One from a friend (either one for free). Which one should I get? I value root/ROM support > battery life > performance > camera > music quality, in that order.

Enjoy it m8

G4 easy

But no SD card slot.

If this helps anyone else out:

Mini review of 5x

Pros:
>still the cheapest bang for your buck outright phone in Canada
>camera and bloat free Android is great
>constant Google updates fix """"any problems"""" monthly
>good phone size for one handed use
>videos and text look great
>charging is good / 1-2 hours full 100% if you DON'T use the phone while charging
>upon fresh reboot, phone is the fastest device I've ever held
If rooted:
>easy to root / Pure Nexus ROM + Ex Kernel made my device faster and last longer battery wise
>no reboots necessary, always runs great

Cons:
>overpriced in Canada. Find a friend in the US to buy it for you. I made the mistake to buy it full price at $499, 32GB
>battery does 4hrs SOT tops
>gets hot as fuck. Slows down if it gets passed 45 degrees C.
>plastic build makes it feel cheap as fuck. Again, get this for the ~$250 US price tag to justify
If rooted:
>battery is still 4hrs SOT
>phone stays WAY cooler, no heat issues

tl;dr I love it, esp coming from the 5 and didn't want to cash out $700. If in Canada, do NOT buy full retail price from the Google Canada Store. Go for a Newegg or some type of reputable retailer that will sell it to you for the US prices

I may go for the One Plus 3, just because of the pricing of the 5x compared to the amount of features you get for the $$$

iPhones are a huge fucking meme. I'm getting rid of mine and getting an S7 Active + 256GB microsd card next week. I'm done with apple, fuck their overpriced pieces of shit.

I got the 5X for $270. Unless I could get the OP3 at a similar price I think I will stick with the 5X.

Get the OPO.

>Incredible ROM support, CAN INSTALL GENTOO ON IT
>Great battery life
>Performs well (not as good as G4 though)
>Camera is decent (again, not as good as G4)
>Great audio quality

I feel like there'd be no contest for the op3 if it just had a goddamn microsd. It's what's killing my g2, I'm constantly running out of storage.

Agreed, sad to see such a great phone be completely ruined by not including that. We'll probably see $50 200GB microsd cards soon.

it'd be about the same.

you would literally be right. there stupid fucking loss

hurr EVERYONE NEEDS DUAL SIM! fucking retards honestly. every single time they make a new phone they fucking compromise on the wrong thing. i'd rather them compromise on price and just put out a phone that doesn't suck complete ballsack.

Yeah, I could put up with its flaws if it had a SD card slot. Why would a "DEVELOPER" phone not have the capability to store excess files and media?
Same with Nexus, they're phones for "hardcore" android users and developers.

I know, hard to believe dual sim is apparently more necessary than fucking storage
Most of us aren't pooinloo's who must travel to Amerika for software contracts

Which BLU phones are recommended? I want to buy my mom one.

Recently got the HTC A9. Is there a better option?

What are our other options bros? At this point I feel like I'm forced to get an s7 which is way over my budget.

Out of these phones, I should have said:

Advance 5.0
Advance 5.0 HD
Energy X 2
Studio X 8
Studio Selfie 2

>Never settle, they said
For mid-tier phones you either need to go with the OP3 or bet on the chinks with the Axon7 at this point, there's hardly any other options, maybe the Idol 4

When you guys get a new phone, do you set it up to look like your old one, or do you just make a new set up?

I've been using the same look and feel for my mobile desktop for a long time now, ever since my Gnex

Take a look at the idol 4s

>idol 4s
>3gb ram
Why does every phone have a flaw

> (You)
>bet on the chinks
So I'm fucked basically.

What's /spg/''s rec music player for Android?

Would LG G4 to a OP3 be a decent upgrade, besides the SD slot?

no

My iPhone 5 broke recently and I'm looking for a cheap replacement until I can save so,e cash for a decent phone. I'm thinking about buying a htc thunderbolt for $30. I have Verizon so as far as I can tell my options are limited. How's the phone run these days?

Like shit? Same as always, that device was god awful. Do yourself a favor and get a Moto E or something like that if you really need a $30 phone. Or go suck a couple dicks to get $125 for a Moto G4 with ads on Amazon

Just got the G5 today. A lotta bloat? Holy fuck yes. Amazing phone? Absolutely

What kind of shit could you need more than 3gb of ram for. As long as it performances well you shouldn't concern yourself with specs.

why is everything in that list a lie except the first two things?

Black player.

Goddam Negros and their loud music.

Never really see the moto z discussed here at all, does anyone have one?

None of us bought one.

I like doubletwist, manages all my podcasts nicely too.

Why not family of mine?

Get Lumia 540 instead. It just werks and run smooth as fuck while it's cheap.
