I have an old Nexus 5 and figured it was time to upgrade, I have about 500 to spend, any suggestions for a good upgrade?

i dont even have to ask if you're mentally retarded, you're delusional as fuck

the site compares cells phones by feature and price

go die in a fire

Is there any way to root the Galaxy on5 SM-G550T1?
Both Metro PCS and T-Mobile sell them

xda

Not on there, that's why I asked here just in case another poorfag like me knows

My 5x is good except for the following
>If I lie on my side and talk on the phone, ppl complain I'm "underwater"
>Speakers are way too low. For both music and phone calls. I don't care about extreme clarity but I can barely use the speakers for decent home use.
>Audio jack is not that good. Low input volume.
>Battery is decent for me. I'd like the next phone to be "good", I don't need amazing.

What's the next phone for me?
Sell the 5x when the next nexus comes?
Get the OP3?

Finally back on android and installed clover. Feelsgoodman.jpg

Who here buying the OP3 in Gold tomorrow? (Canada)

Canadians out there?

Coming from a Nexus 5, simple android apps and Pokémon go.

What's the best phone out there, contract or no contract doesn't matter?

If by contract, WiFi Spotify / YouTube

>No Gaming except for Pokemon GO

>Decent phone speakers

Not sure if I'm overspending but want to use the phone for at least 2 years

Yes.

You can import phones from AliExpress, i've found it's a decent way to deal with the garbage CAD

Why can't I send text via NFC? I highlight some text on my screen or select a note in colornote, pick send, select Android beam and it sends; but as an NFC tag that contains the text rather than as anything I can use or select. This is completely useless to me because I can't use that for anything. I need some way to be able to then interact with the text I sent on the other device.
Do any NFC autists here know how to send stuff like that via NFC? I can get it done with bluetooth only currently

Is there an app or an Xposed module (I'm running CM13) which can spoof a address book for each app instead of the contacts which are usually system wide the same? So that apps can't see the contacts on the device but (other than by just turning off access to the contacts with the privacy guard) can create and read their own contacts.

I'll never buy Asus phone ever again, really poor software support and optimization.

How is the worry about warranty?
I've never bought a used phone before.

Any alternative OS phones that aren't shit? I'm getting sick of all the problems I have with my Nexus 4 running CM13. Sailfish phones have that proprietary layer that can run Android apps, but I don't know how well it actually works. Ubuntu Touch doesn't have Android app support but is more open. Really, I just don't want to be stuck on whichever OS dies.

Okay, so I've have my HTC one m9 for a bit over a year and out of no where the power button got stuck pressed down. The phone also loses battery quickly, gets very hot, and charges slowly. For my next phone I would like none those problems. Basically I want a phone that works and continues to work, without bullshit. Any recommendations? I'm on verizon.

Is the LG v10 any good? Someone is offering me one for $200 and it seems like a good phone.. it has 4gigs of ram, but only an 1800mhz processor (according to phonearena) but it's hexa core. I've never had anything with more than a quad core. Does having two more cores mean it runs faster/smoother even it if has less over all Hertz? My gf has a Note 3, is it comparable to that?

Will the OnePlus 2 last me a while? Need a new phone and I don't have much money.

Th-thanks for a good answer

we dont need a smartphone general...they are all EXACTLY the fucking same. ALL OF THEM!

Best ROM for Xperia Z5.

>SD810
Ehhhhh

sorry to repeat post from last thread, just looking for more opinions. Feel free to ignore.

I have a few questions.
In the market for a new phone, budget $400.

Currently using Moto X 2013, but it has tons of issues now.

Anyways:

What is the best I can get NEW for $400? I was looking at OP3, N6P, Axon 7.

What is the best option of those?

What is daydream and why is the Axon 7 the only one that is certified for it? Does that matter?

So... General quality and features?

axon is good

daydream is android vr

get the 6p

>can't unlock the bootloader on my LG G4 because it's the SEA variant
>Forever stuck on LG's shitty UI

Looks like saving 30-40 bucks or so wasn't worth it in the end. Kind of a bummer, because I could keep this phone going way past its prime otherwise

oh well, I'll just use it until it can't go any further or Googlel get's their shit together with the nexus line.

what's your opinion on the 6p vs op3?

i personally like both. Sup Forums will shit on the op3 because of the pentile display and oxywhatever os, but i think they're fine

i like the 6p because of how open it is. it's a nexus, itll have updates forever. it does have less ram than the op3, so, something to keep in mind.

I just bought an lg g4 for 200 bucks . Did i do the right thing ? Also any tips on what should i do with it ( avoiding some updates , buying it some accessories. ..)

nope

enjoy your bootloop

plus, the 6p costs more and has lower specs.

Bootloop happens for phones that were realeased before October 2015

youtu.be/gtAB34sBBx8?t=1m48s

sony m4 aqua
metro pcs (usa)
is it shit?

btw currently using chinkshit coolpad $30 phone
do any lenovo phones work well with metro pcs (tmobile LTE bands)? i like lenovo, htc, and sony phones.

>tfw everytime I try to post on my phone I'm banned because someone on my service keeps posting furry porn on blue boards

Its just a glitch using a third party app like Clover when using mobile data.
I believe using Chrome outside of WiFi works fine.

Is the blackberry classic a solid phone?

qt

>I just bought an lg g4 for 200 bucks

From where?

Ebay . Its "new" .

The LG V10 is a very nice phone, arguably the best phone last year.

The Snapdragon 808 hexacore uses ARM's big.LITTLE configuration, which in this case means there are two big cores and four little cores. The big cores handle the heavy lifting while the little guys run background processes. Several flagship phones last year used the SD808 because the octacore SD810 reaches hardware thermal throttling limits within several minutes of heavy usage, so the SD808 ends up producing better performance per watt over time because it had two less big cores generating heat and saturating the heatsink. Samsung's Exynos line of SoCs did not suffer from this limitation and the Galaxy S6 was a sales success.

However, the LG V10 was essentially the G4 redone. It shares the excellent camera and has a good audio DAC while losing the odd curve. For $200 in excellent shape, I would consider the V10 a very good deal.

An unlocked lg v10 is between 300 and 400 bucks .

The person I was replying to has one available to them at $200.

News on next nexus?

october

Different poster then you were replying to, but I may be getting a 6p tomorrow for $200. I've never used a Nexus phone before, I always ever used Samsungs. Am I gonna be ok? I'm scared. Hold me.

5" and 5.5" variants, differences will be in size, screen resolution, and battery size (both will have AMOLED screens, Snapdragon 821, and 4GB RAM). Storage sizes may vary too (more base on larger device). Will both be made by HTC and both will feature "premium" metal+glass enclosures.

Retard, read up on how NFC works

Something with a replaceable battery.

So is the axon 7 really worth it?

>been waiting my phone to come back from warranty repair for a month now

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

So I'm a poorfag who can get a galaxy s6 for 1.00 with my upgrade, is that worth it?

>redmi shipped

how long do you think I'll be able to use my lg g3 without it just being ancient technology? it's pretty much paid off and i dont really want to start a new phone contract any time soon

>poorfag
>s6

Yeah, right.

Jesus christ that's a terrible photoshop job. The hats don't make any shadwos, the Trump 2016 on their bosoms looks like the guy just pasted it and changed the perspective a little...and the thing that bothers me the most is the logo on the closet door - WHY would you put it on there? In reality it wouldn't stick there..or if it did, it would be slightly droopy.

Whoever photoshopped this needs to apply themselves.

Thanks for showing you didn't read friend. :D

I did. If the phone itself costs one dollar with it, that means that you're probably on a very expensive plan. Which you shouldn't be able to afford if you're poor.

>tfw no phone for a week
Aren't carriers supposed to ask you if you want another phone if you returned one?

I'm not it's just a deal that's going on atm. I was just asking if the phones decent regardless of price. It's the newest phone I can get for that cheap that isn't an iphone s6 and i'm sick of iphone. I hate my 5 cause it runs like shit.

What the fuck is this shit in america? They take your old phones when you buy a new one?

jesus christ

I (personally) don't really recommend samsung devices for long-term usage. And if you're poor, you're gonna be using it for a while..

The hardware is really good, but the exynos CPU makes developing AOSP-based roms (read: CM) extremely hard. It's not like there is anything wrong with the recent stock firmware on Samsung devices, but you might want to update to newer android versions when it's eventually abandoned.

Still, if it's as cheap as you say...I'd buy it. It's a recent phone and it should be performing good for a while.

Alright, thank you very much for that well thought out statement. I will probably end up getting it then.

Moto X Pure is now £249 in UK, still worth it?
>Need a upgrade from my Moto G 2014

if you turn them in they will give you a discount, or they can just deactivate them and you can sell on ebay.

You can't keep it and use it with an another sim card (from a different provider)?

How are the american people tolerating this? Carrier-locked phones were a thing in my country 10 years ago, but now if you buy a phone WITH a mobile plan, you can just pop in a sim card from a different provider and use it normally.

>"land of the free"

How is S6 battery life compared to S7?
499€ for S6 and Gear VR, I'm kinda tempted.

I'd like to know this as well. Plus the S6 has much nicer color options. Also, I heard the S6 Edge somehow has better battery life than the regular S6. Is it significant somehow? Don't want the edge since it'll break sooner or later and fuck that gimmick. But better battery life sounds tempting.

>500 for S6 and meme gear
Its your money to waste..

Mum needs a new phone lads. Should I get pic related or is there something else even cheaper worth considering?

anyone have experience with tempered glass screen protectors? do they actually protect your screen if your phone falls?

Need opinions

OP3, 6p or Xiomi Mi5?

Op3 if you want it next week, xiameme if you can wait A month

htc10 or 5x gotta buy one tomorrow :') 5x is $340 in aus htc10 is like $820

OP3 is the most complete package of the three

buy 5x, the rest is for hookers

HTC 10 or LG G5?

Easiest way to get OP3 in Aus?

Are there any western phones that comes close to the xiaomi redmi note 3 pro in terms of value for the money?

I'd really like to have decent warranty on it. Also SD card slot and 1080p is a must.

I know that fucking feel, considering a OP3 or a Nexus because it's not worth it

is 1440p actually noticeably better than 1080p?

Guys what do I do here

I have the Xperia Z5 Premium but the phone is faulty as fuck, like I've already sent it off for repair 4 times and I have had to do an insurance claim which cost me a ton as well.

I'm going to get a new phone obviously but what phone should I get?

Budget € 600 max

Priorities:

Battery(user replaceable/removable) >smooth/bug free performance>screen (5-5.5inch)>micro sd (or at least 64gb rom)>camera>premium build>speakers

no SD 810 phones please.

Basically all i do is browse, play a lot of music over bluetooth or trough wired headphones and a lot of texting/calling. Some light apps here and there.

Not sure if i need the latest an greatest flagship, but i don't want a phone that doesn't get any updates a year from now. Plus i don't want it to get slow as shit after a few years like my GS3 now.

So are the new nexus devices my only option?

GS7: exynos variant in Europe, samsung is shit with updates and only cares about their latest shiny flagship.
HTC10: too expensive (€670), nothing makes it really stand out?
LG G5: bloat, Always LG Always seems to have some big issue with hardware/software, low resell value, okayish battery life
applel: too expensive for 64gb version of 6s.
OP3: big numbers on antutu but software is far from optimized + no physical stores
Axon 7: questionable software support after android N, battery life isn't great (?)

Are nexus devices more optimized to use the hardware to it's fullest potential? Kind of like apple does? Or is it just smoother because it doesn't have any bloat?

From my experience with my old folks they just care about battery life, camera (Nexus has neither) and screen. I think something like Samsung A3 or decent chinkphones would be OK for them

where did you read metal + glass? I hope they don't start making fingerprint magnets that break easily like GS7. Why does everyone care for design so much? If you don't have Insurance any sensible person uses a protective case, making the fancy design useless.

Since i don't care for VR i guess i'll just get the one with best battery life. Smaller screen + lower res might make up for the difference in battery size.

why not LG G4? its not SD810 MVGame

Best case for the nexus 6p? prefer something drop proof, screen protector too I guess I should buy one.

Just bought a nexus 6p, did I fuck up? (I can't wait 2 months, I need a phone now)

I have a Lumia 640 LTE

>good screen
>good battery life
>absolutely dire software support

help me switch to something similar/better
€300 budget

Any reason to avoid the oneplus 3?
i have an s3 right now and i want something that will last some years.
I don't need the sd card.

Was "jim" tired of her stalking?

considered it untill i read about the bootloop issues. The way LG handled it (some people had to send their device in multiple times) doesn't give me a lot of confidence in LG. Plus SD 808 gets destroyed by SD820. For the €120 price difference i'd just get the G5.
I don't mind paying a premium price if it means the device is more futureproof, wich the G4 isn't.

i rooted my redmeme and installed cm 13. I have no regrets, but atm I cannot use some banking app due to it recognizing that the phone is rooted.
Can I circumvent this by unrooting and keeping cm someway? I tried to use xposed installer and rootcloak, no dice.

adding to this because I'm a retard who cannot read

UK, Vodafone, decent battery + decent specs, no budget and big.

nexus 6p? I just bought one through contract for vodaphone australia

Cant you simply disable root rights for the app?

the only thing with the Nexus 6p is the lack of sd-card

Have a galaxy s5 right now, want to buy a new phone.
Am very appealed by ios and the iphones look. I'm not a heavy phone user, I don't play much games or really need to take it to it's limits. Is iphone ok?
