ITT: We're in 2116
It's the year of Linux for real this time guys
/Thread
What is ram?
Oh I looked it up.
It says spintronics led to ram and storage becoming one.
>2116
>Using Fene$tration 162
Enjoy your cyborgnet
Guys, you will pay for the new Nvidia GTXY2080 rendering service?
i make fenestration products.
I can't fucking believe I still can't change the gmail address associated with my account
It is called AMVidia now, grandpa. I am waiting to see what Samsintel is cooking.
hi everyone, does anyone know how to disable the google collective intelligence tracking system in your brain implants.
At least you still have yours, those guys with yahoo e-mails really got fucked in the mass wipe
i finally upgraded to a 16 cores and 10 meg pipe
There are people on here that actually have over like 64 or 128 gigabytes of ram
Ive seen 1TB of ram here
Today I received a warning from NSA for thinking in contribute to ReactOS. They said if I insist in that delusional behavior, they'll send me to Google Reeducation Camps.
Hoy many warnings have you received user?
Remember back before AMD was acquired by Microsoft 20 years ago? I wish I could afford their new new series of CPUs but Canada's economy hasn't recovered from when my grandparents were teenagers. I wish I lived in a 0th world country like India, I'm going to have to get a shitty Bargain Bintel i19 because the new AMD CPU lineup isn't available anywhere outside of Silicon Delhi for the first 6 months.
Google server speccy.
Hey guys, i've just got this MiSo electric collar with my VROptiX3000. The eula said, that they can murder me any time, but I don' think they would do that. Soooo... VROptiX3000 thread?
Still upset I didn't qualify for the governments male quota, but the reassignment surgery went well enough. I start estrogen injections next week :)
Oh fuck off
>that will be one infraction for the violation of verbal moralities
Anyone else looking forward to the first 4 GHz processor next year?
Considering that we moved from KBs of RAM to GBs (two orders of magnitude) over the last 4 decades, in 100 years it's plausible to expect that we'll have petabyte RAM sticks.
No, not really my cpu is fast enough. Just wish I could afford a 1070.
>Beastial marriage is now legal in glorious India
Looks like upgrading animal intelligence really paid off ;)
...
You are forgetting the Intel monopoly already ending tick tock.
:ˆ)
Congrats and good luck, I am a really nice guy and we should hang out unless you don't want to.
My fucking mom didn't have money to buy a new core for the reactor so we are on emergency power and I can't play my Holodeck
Why is real life so dull? If there were a god he would have made life more like being inside. Glad we finally got rid of religion though.
Jokes on you, I run game theory simulations that actually use up to 1TB RAM to find equilibrium solutions.
Intel will be crushed by RISC-V. Big corporations like Google and Oracle will be more than glad to stop paying the Intel tax.
It's funny that OP sees 1tb of ram as a far future thing, 1tb of ram is fairly common in decent servers, even some "just fuck me up" overkill builds have 2tb or more in the form of loads of 128gb Hynix sticks
Solving problems by brute force is the lowest form of scientific research.
HALF LIFE 3 ANNOUNCED HALF LIFE 3 ANNOUNCED HALF LIFE 3 ANNOUNCED
I'm not talking tic-tac-toe or RPS here. I'm talking game trees several orders of magnitude bigger than chess. There's no other way to find equilibrium solutions for something this complex.
Yes there is. You just aren't another Einstein.
Guys I've been in a relationship with my dog for 9 years now and we've been active in the fight for maritial rights now for two years
Should I propose to him or should I wait for him to propose to me? We are both male by the way. We've been considering it for the last three years or so and he's such a smart and great guy, can't wait to synthesize some children with him.
I hate to tell you this but dogs don't live much longer than 9yrs. Well German Shepherd anyway.
>tfw my thinkpad t420 still runs in 2116
I just checked on wikivegeta, it says german shepherds live to 40.
kek. today's whole scientific research is about brute force. As it has always been in the past. They try and try hard until they find something. So stop crying.
Haha, and to think we used to share the planet with those dumb meatbags.
>2116
tfw you'll be long dead by then
>tfw my inferior genetics will probably hold me for 10 more years, no more.
Read the Sleepwalkers by Koestler and then comeback.

Bruh it's not the 50s any more, he's 16 and I'm 23, and we're in Silicon Delhi, he'd live until 45~ without his augmentation, he'll likely outlive me and Indians live until they're almost 160. You're probably a poor American, how's it like living 30 years in the past, mayoman?
It basically takes massive amounts of "brute force" (in terms of human, rather than electronic computational power) to come up with non-brute force algorithms for very complex problems. In the real world, most of the non-brute force algorithms that are used were discovered long ago, putting effort into finding new ones only really makes sense if the algorithm will be used frequently enough to justify it. For a specific one-time problem, putting an extra month into developing an efficient algorithm just doesn't make sense if it only cuts running time from 84 hours to 6 hours.
>sonytendo touting their new Playstation NX U as a "super quantumcomputer"

When will normborgs stop buying into this shit?
Hey man my boyfriend and his friends like consoles for gaming because it's easier to use with paws and their accent doesn't work well with Google's speciest speech to text systems
We still both use PC's but it's a real inconvenience for him and he wasn't able to help out with the assembly. Anyone know how we could make his PC more accessible?
>tfw still running win 7
>he bought the AMD RXXX 6660
Pretty big talk Pajeet, you wouldn't even be where your are if it weren't for us bailing you out after the great Poonami of 2067.
Yo guys do you remember when AMD was still a thing? I still have my granddad's VEGA GPU lying somewhere in my basement - At this point it's a relic - last AMD's card that killed them off. Now don't get me wrong. I still love Nvidia but I just wish there were some cheap shitty Indian alternatives poorfags like you could buy - Granddad used to tell stories about pathetic mentally ill men he encountered online who defended those garbage products with their dear life. Ridiculous if you ask me.
Sounds like he needs a Applesoft pc.
Oh look, another chink who won't admit to the fact that India overtook their economy in the fourties. Just a reminder that in the '67 recession only put us behind your economy for FIVE YEARS
What's AMD?
Jeez dude he's a dobie not a dalmatian
>Microsoft's acquisition wasn't the best thing that ever happened to AMD
Sucks that they stopped making GPUs in the late 90s though, Huawei cards are no where near Nvidia's price to performance in comparison to late AMD.
Microsoft. You must be 18 years of age to post on 64chan yknow. You probably aren't even old enough to remember USB 16.1 Type K if you don't remember the Microsoft AMD acquisition.
Maki just blew my avatar in the metaverse, shit's so cache
>he actually got the brain implants
You fell for it.
It's gotten much slower in the past two decades. The standard for a reasonably powered PC is 8 GB atm, 20 years ago it was probably something like 128 MB. That's just 64 fold. Extrapolating that to 100 years into the future (5 x 20) that's just 320 fold, so you end up with 2.5 TB. I would expect that so sharply slow down though, the trend is that memory needs don't grow continuously, neither in RAM nor in storage. Media doesn't magically grow larger (even though the industry is trying to push that with ridiculous bullshit like 4k or "TrueHD"/lossless audio with bazillion channels).
Grandpa forgot his pills I see
>just 1TB
I'm sure you're doing fine with your 96 y/o computer.
How do I use the three shells?
enjoy your 3.5tb

Yeah, you fell for the old 2023 meme
You don't know shit until you fell for the 1PB of RAM meme
I'd love to stay and chat, but it looks like I'm at the end of my electricity usage limit for today. Can you believe that people a hundred years ago had electricity 24/7? But I guess we would too if the environmentalists didn't ban all of the efficient modes of power generation including nuclear.
Still, some good came out of all this. Now that we're all living in mega cities as mandated by Agenda 21, there's a lot less to worry about. No need to have a car. No need to even deal with thugs like before. Autonomous drones armed with stun rays patrol the streets at all times and call for police APCs whenever needed, so violent crime and muggings barely exist... not like there's a lot to steal mind you, but it's nice to have that peace of mind.
>People still posting anime images
Japan doesn't even exist anymore, much less their dated means of slideshow tier 60 fps eye cancer.
> great-granddad, tell me what it was like in your youth
Well, you learned how to do addition, right? Like how you know how many bullets it'll cost to buy some bread or a new filter for your gas mask? Back then, when we had to calculate really really difficult things we would use a machine that used electricity -- that's what lightning is made of -- and it would tell us the result within seconds. We could talk to people who lived on the other side of the world whom we had never met, we could buy anything we needed to live or wanted to have, we could look at pictures and even see movies.
> what are movies?
A movie is when you can see something that happened in the past. People would make movies of other people playing music, or they would invent stories and then let other people act them out just to make a movie of it.
But enough of that, have you cleaned your rifle yet? You don't want it to jam when there's muties coming at you.
If they became singular companies what would Sup Forumsbe for then?
Pleb I've had 64 for a year now. You need to get with the 0.12nm already. This is why you don't go with the i27 processors.
Wait Canada Canada or Canadamerica when trump won and everyone moved out of the country to avoid the now terrible 16th Reich of trumpu-sama

You mean the Trump walls true use? Truly was a sad day, to see such a great wall to waste.
Will Ubuntu 16.10 have Unity 8?

RAM volume went x1000 in the last 20 years. If it'll continue its trend, even slower, we'll have 16TB office PCs in 2056.
>spintronics
it will never work

The average IQ of india is to low to allow them to get even close to a 1st world nation.
Unless you indians kill your idiots you will stay a slum nation

Do you think a small child in a post-apocalyptic world has any notion of how short a millisecond is or has the capacity to imagine computer graphics? I said something about people inventing stories and filming them. Could say something about puppet shows being filmed instead of live actors but that's beside the point.
Windows is still more bloated than ever.
My son came out as a martian today.
just tell the child that the result appears instantly instead of in a second
and explain CGI movies with moving drawings
WOW THAT WAS HARD
