Are you ready? Excited? Meh? Fuck off botnet?

Note series had this for almost 5 years now, and even on a 5.5" screen there's still little point in doing any multitasking. Usually it's just youtube and something else that people run with it, and that's because they're too dumb to install xposed or just don't have root.

>notification shade was also redesigned, featuring a smaller row of icons for settings, replacing notification cards with a "sheet" design, and allowing inline replies to notifications
Doesn't CM have this since like 11?

>"Doze" power saving mechanism introduced in Marshmallow was expanded to include a state activated when the device is running on battery and the screen has been off for a period of time

Isn't that what Doze does anyway? When it senses that the device hasn't been used for an X amount of minutes it goes into a super power save mode? Either way, if they made it work better, that's neat I guess.
>new "Data Saver" mode restricts background mobile data usage, and can trigger internal functions in apps that are designed to reduce bandwidth usage
...Okay, I guess? If you don't have unlimited data then I guess that's neat, but most people who own a $600 smartphone have it on a plan that supports unlimited data. Others just use it sparingly by not streaming youtube and shit.

>coming next month
lol no in 10 years maybe
see

I'm on CM Nightly Marshmallow with my Samsung S4. All works perfect, including Xposed network.

As for switching to Nougat, it will probably be months before CM has a working build for my phone.

Personally, I'm liking Marshmallow. Pretty solid.

>experimental multi-window mode is also available as a hidden feature
omg we are living in the future!

>neo-Sup Forums can't use open source to their advantage and flash rom's themselves

As expected.

same here. I'll probably wait until there is a fully stable build and features are present that I would use. At the moment I see no reason to upgrade.

>android

Is that it? What's the point?

>rom's

Is this going on the old Nexus 5, or are we abandonware now?

L i t e r a l l y already exists
every single thing you wrote

I'm just sitting here with my 4.4.2 stock rom since there's only unofficial custom roms for my phone.

Yeah, but only 0.00000000000002% of android phones will ever get it

epic post, bro.

I heard is lags and crashes a bit less. That will be nice.

iirc nexus 5 is stuck on 6. However you probably will have a lot of roms to flash.

>a $650 toy that can't download files to local storage

Who cares about the tech illiterate. Even normies can install custom roms these days.

Can't wait not to receive this milestone update

>99% of Android users

i probably wont get it anyway

>tfw stable af "official" CM13
I'm probably getting N a month after its release

None of those features sound appealing. Also this

I still have lollipop on my One Plus X. When am I getting an update?

>he unironically bought a non-Nexus Android device

Lolipop 5.3 wow is fucking nothing!

Ran management issues haven't been fixed yet.

>be on settings app tweaking some screen settings, get WhatsApp and switch to read the message. Return to settings app and wtf? Why am I on the main settings page instead of where I left off (screen settings)

No carriers in my country offer unlimited data except for one or two small companies with miniscule network coverage.

>international Snapdragon Note 4
>CM development is pretty much stalled
>too lazy to do it myself
Eh, will probably get one of those new HTC Nexus devices when they come out.

It might be comming this month but most Poodroid users wont get it for another 3 years.

waaaahahahahaa

Do you guys remember when Firefox 3 was announced and then Firefox 4 years later? That was a huge difference in terms of design features etc. Nowadays we have version 32+ which is exactly the same as 14 or 23.

What the fuck is wrong with software development nowadays? This is nothing but a little update over lolipop it should be android 5.3 not android 7.at this rate we will reach android 24 by next year.

99% of Android users are missing Google's monthly security patches which fix a bunch of critical vulnerabilities every time.

If you don't buy Nexus, your device is vulnerable.

Vulnerable to what? 99% of users won't download weird apks from Russian sites. All they do is text, call and browse the Internet and maybe use 5-6 apps and a few games. Le security meme is stupid, as stupid as android antivuruses

But user a higher number is better think about Windows 10 or note 7 skipping version numbers

Vulnerable to something as simple as receiving a MMS, or viewing malvertising through legit apps or websites, or being MITM'd because of an outdated OpenSSL library, or having your full-disk encryption blown away when it'd come handy...

Media handling is an especially large and dangerous attack surface (you can get a video from anywhere on the internet or it can be sent to you through many apps, including messaging) because the mediaserver library is a total mess security-wise, but with Nougat they're improving it, so there you have another reason for upgrading/buying a Nexus.

I think Android security matters quite a lot given how many people put very sensitive personal and financial info on their phones.

>Doze
Nah, in Android M it simply activated when the phone has stood still for a while (accelerometer data)

Does this mean the new nexus will release soon
