do you have an Xbox One controller connected by any chance?

no, but I do have a ps4 controller connected at times.

Don't worry, probably done with Firefox its starting to be trash even to me.

Most likely one of your drivers have a memory leak.
I had it happen to me with Xbox One controller. Killer cards are known for this shit on 10.

Yeah updating them currently, hopefully it is as simple as that. Thanks for confirming that could very well be what it is.

manually open each process and look at private data to figure out which is taking more than a few gb

svchost i susing 2gb
systemsettings is using 3gb.
they're all windows processes, this is madness.

>calculator is using 1gb and not open,
Don't worry, its just submitting your calculations to microsoft to improve their producst

>calculator is using 1gb and not open,
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA
wincucks everyone

What can I say, windows loves my math skills i guess.

>calculator is using 1gb and not open,

I was gonna say I only started having this problem with win10, but then I remembered I said the same thing when I got win8. At least 7 never gave me random memory leaks in the system processes.

you know what to do, format and reintall 7

Hahahaha holy shit how is this acceptable
