>Will Edge finally be worth using with extensions?
No, it'll never be worth sending your keystrokes straight to Microsoft.

>Will Edge finally be worth using with extensions?
No. Opera is by far better than Edge, in every aspect, while also has nice exclusives like video popout and native adblocking/vpn

>Will Edge finally be worth using with extensions?
If it's still a bloated RAM hog, no. Apparently it's worse than Chrome if you open enough tabs.

Any other goodies in the update or nah?

Ubuntu on Windows is just awesome. Made me switch from arch to Windows

Ubuntu on windows, colored title bars, more consistent right click menu looks, re-done start menu, some shit for taking notes if you're a tabcuck

>Bash on Windows

The year if the Linux desktop is finally here thanks to Micro$oft.

you can even run unity or any desktop environment

Fuck you, this is like the 8th thread today, niggerindian. Shill somewhere else.

Apparently goes live at 1pm eastern so pretty soon

might give edge a try

>Will Edge finally be worth using with extensions?
That's all I was waiting for to switch.

It's stupidly fast.

ids habbeding

Hello Sup Forums

It's beautiful. Why haven't you updated yet Sup Forums?

There are people in this thread who unironically still haven't switched to GNU/Linux.

windows is still better if you want vdya/media production or everything else which requires "mature" software like the adobe suite

Oh god. You can make borders black! REVOLUTIONARY!

This

what can't I choose a black color

it drives me crazy

>Goes live later.
I've been using it for ~4 hours. So far so good.

>black on black
cuck

It already is faŠ¼. It's literally the most energy efficient browser.

True, but even with battery saving mode on it's not as efficient.
Of course none of this matters on a desktop, but for laptops Edge is pretty good.

Hello! How often windows checks for updates?

I think it's daily.

high contrast mode

you forgot ms office

omg I'm doing it

>Anniversary update deleted my pirated GameMaker
FUCK YOU

don't steal shit

That's none of Microsoft's business

if it's pirated it's not your business either

So is explorer still the same color even with the dark theme? If so, it's useless.

That's not a counter point, dipshit.

I'm playing the world's smallest violin

Did Microsoft give you permission to do that?

no your terrible decisions did

check if it's on C:\Windows.old

also Windows didn't deleted any pirated software or game I had, so fuck off

He's right. You're using a windows past version 7. Bad decisions all around.

winaerotweaker lets you enable custom colors to add

Just done the upgrade, it made me remove my Symantec Endpoint Protection before the upgrade saying it wasn't compatible.

>using symantec
Using Bitdefender and I could upgrade without problems

Welp my computer freeze now after the update.
And i cleaned up the restoration point, i'm screwed.

just use defender lol

enjoy chinese botnet

>ms office
I guess I shouldn't expect more out of windows users, but are there seriously people who don't use LaTeX in the current year?
Do people still use shit like Excel and, lol, Powerpoint?

I've always used it as I get it free from work, I thought Defender was the meme malware protection or is it actually good now?

How the FUCK do I make it so the start menu doesn't show the program list anymore?

>are there seriously people who don't use LaTeX in the current year?
Yes. Mostly normies.

>American botnet
>Chinese botnet
What's the difference? Besides, the deal wasn't complete, so Opera isn't owned by the chinese after all

It's good but the free version doesn't have endpoint protection which I'm pretty sure is out of print

>Mostly normies.
College students aren't required to learn LaTeX?

American botnet still acts within the US laws and if some shit goes down, someone will be held accountable, with chink botnet the chinks are free to do whatever they want since no laws constrain them, they can even sell your data to private companies around the globe.

Yeah LaTeX sure is a great spreadsheet editor

Is the lock screen supposed to lag now? Like after I click on it, first the icons fade away and then the picture...

>Opera isn't owned by the chinese after all
Yes, it is.

How do i get the fucking update?

it's good

Anyone in britbong land got the update yet?

LaTeX isn't a spreadsheet editor. Gnumeric works well enough for basic spreadsheet editing.

Any real work done with spreadsheets has a dedicated program for it, like matlab or mathematica.

get off of a test build

Yes mate and I can't get rid of the hideous folders on my start menu now. I'm fuming.

What area? I'm in the West Midlands and I still don't have it.

You can use the Windows 10 Update Assistant to force it to download.

it looks like you already got it. That's the new config menu.

did this update just basically reinstall windows?? i had to reinstall a few things including graphics drivers because it broke nvidia control panel

Slowpoke, mate? The deal was a failure.

If you're going paranoid then go full paranoid. Opera has a ToS and a privacy policy, and they're still operating in Norway.

opera.com/privacy

Dude, you already have it.

Nope. All my software and settings were still there after the update.

East Midlands senpai.

reuters.com/article/us-opera-software-m-a-china-idUSKCN0ZY0CA

I'm not that poster, just saying if you're in the US you're slightly better off using US botnet, not the chink botnet.

>well enough

Fug, don't know why I don't have it yet.

MS Update Assistant a shit,it thinks i'm running a different version of Win 10.

Why arent I seeing the update :/

All I did was click "Check for updates" and it downloaded/installed it right away.

As in "does 100% of what a basic spreadsheet editor should be able to do."

Creating visual representations of 500,000 data points is something you should not be doing in a spreadsheet editor.

Technically yes, this is a OS upgrade, as the same way Windows 7 updates to Windows 8.

But it's semi-hidden so normies will see they're still in Windows 10, even if this kind of upgrade has happened twice during Windows 10 lifecycle.

>"Chinese takeover of Norway's Opera fails, alternative proposed"
Your point? The deal failed, a new deal was proposed, how this means Opera is already owned?

Still not as good as Excel

How to slim down the adress bar? Edge still seems like shit tbqh.

yep my AMD drivers reported an "unexpected error" and you can find a Windows.Old folder as well. Also have a couple other programs that won't even launch after reinstalling, I'm so fucking sick of this shit Im gonna go back to 7

Read the article. I'm not going to cut your food and put it in your mouth.

I updated. Enabled dark mode and explorer is still white. Dropped.

>Still not as good as Excel
It allows you to edit spreadsheets. That's what Excel does and is primarily used for.

It is just as good as Excel at editing spreadsheets.
Better, actually, because it's open source.

I fucking read it 2 months ago when I posted it here, dude.

The deal hasn't been settled yet, it will take months and it will fail just like the previous one.

>MS Update Assistant a shit,it thinks i'm running a different version of Win 10.
Wat?

>This PC is running version 10586
>OS Build: 10586.494

IMPORTANT

if you're logged in via remote desktop and your PC's monitor is in power save mode, DO NOT reboot to apply the update via remote desktop. you will get no visual feedback. the PC screen will stay in power save mode even when you hit a key.

if this happens, wait for the disk activity to die down and hit the reset button, as there is no other way to wake the screen up or reconnect to do anything useful.

>I fucking read it 2 months ago when I posted it here, dude.
Impossible. The article is from July the 18th. The board of directors from Opera has already accepted the deal.

Nah, Excel has a much more up to date and fluid UI, not to mention it's available online

So what the hell does that mean?

There are dozens of cloud enabled spreadsheet editors if you need to use one.

Excel is bloated and does many things poorly.
Like I said, real work involving data manipulation is done in dedicated, cross platform programs. Excel is only used for those purposes by idiots and those unwilling to learn.

>The board of directors from Opera has already accepted the deal.
They accepted the previous one too, user. It's not up for them to get the deal, didn't you knew that? Both USA and China has to accept the deal too.

Also I have been following this since it began, around January.

...

>download update
>you gotta restart to start the update
>hit restart, goes to restart screen
>windows is restarting...
>a minute goes by
>windows is restarting...
>sweating intensifies
>another minutes goes by
>windows is restarting...
>fuck fuck fuck fuck
>give it another minute before hitting reset button on my case
>finally changes to "windows is preparing to install updates don't turn off your pc"

i fucking hate it when it does that

You have protected music, probably bought on your zune

I stand corrected then.

lol what so microsoft is refusing to potentially play/support it? what the fuck?

Every major update to Windows 10 is basically like a service pack on crack. It performs a "refresh" and basically reinstalls Windows.

Hooray for DRM

when will i be able to use a functional WM?

Wrong board.
