HAHA YES AMD IS DEAD YES YES YEEEEEEEEEEEES!

Source on those clock speeds?
Brandon Martinez
That game doesn't appear to show much of a difference with more cores, therefore making it a shit comparison for processing power. Especially when comparing a processor possibly clocked at 2.8 GHz to a 4 GHz processor.
-Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2687W 0 @ 3.10GHz (16 cores, 32 logical cores) Average: 80.1 FPS Normal batch: 89.7 FPS Medium batch: 81.9 FPS Heavy batch: 70.9 FPS
I think everyone can agree that there is a much larger difference in processing power between those 2 processors than what is shown by that game's shitty benchmark.

>Benchmarking Zen using video games DEAR GOD, NOT THE 2 FRAMES
Show some x264 benchmarks, faggot

HAHA YES FUCKING FINALLY AMD IS DEAD!!!
James Campbell
There sure has been a lot of threads blindly shitting on AMD the last few days. Is it all one samefag or what?
Mason Ward
>let's compare amd engineering samples clocked at 2.8GHz with a overclocked intel cpu with clocks beyond 4.0GHz
Something about the linked 6700k benchmark stinks. Only the top 5 entries actually reach 120 CPU-FPS most of the hover around 95 CPU-FPS.
>he seriously believes that the 6700k at 4.0GHz is 60% faster than the 6700 at 3.4GHz
Adrian Brown
lmaoing my ass off

That picture lol. My sides need help

I don't know how that would play out. Might be interesting. Skylake and Kaby Lake have an SSE advantage over Summit Ridge, but SR has more cores.
They're doing another spin of Promontory chipset to fix the USB 3.1 bug before release, which is apparently not fixable in firmware and is a significant enough errata to push back release.
Better than releasing with it I suppose.

Oh look, sweeper waited a few hours to repost his thread again from anacuck. Thank god we're comparing overclocked skylakes to a engineering sample.
>b-b-but its a different version of the game I swear Intel gets 100% better performance now
Nolan Lopez
Fuck off, the bench marks were deleted from the website because they were FAKE ENGINEERING BENCHMARKS.
Zen is NOT THIS GOOD, FUCK OFF.
Jaxson Evans
So the Zen ES perform like a stock i7 4770 in that shit? Looks not that good but still depends on the price, if those things go for usd 200 by 2017 then they won't look that bad, the only thing i don't like is that if you want gayms the AM4 is only compatible with the shitfest of Winbot 10, or at least the vendors could go full microjew and never release drivers for 7/8/8.1
Michael Clark
If they can release processors that match i5s or i7s but price them for a reasonable amount of money less then they might grab some attention. At least the performance will be genuinely viable.
i get the feeling some people are just expecting them to release something that blows away a 10 core xeon but for $200. It's just not going to happen.
Cooper Nguyen
to be fair the Zen ES is at 2.8 GHz which is fairly low for even a AMD chip
>AM4 is only compatible with the shitfest of Winbot 10 It's going to work on Linux and you probably will be able to install Win 7/8 on it. Microshit just won't release any support for the new chip, just like Kaby Lake.
Gavin Carter
from what i remember even intel has a secondary chip for 3.1
that said, What I want is 2 fold. 1) decent frame rate, if the cpu can be a bottleneck for the framerate, i want it above 144 if the game can get pushed to 144 2) the extra cores for stability, lets say im playing a game and something decided to crash or just use 100% of a core, an 8 core handles that shift better than a 4 or 6 core. 3) I want power so i don't want to suicide on rendering shit when a gpu will not co processor.
If all 3 criteria are secured, Ill get a zen, if not, ill get a dual cpu motherboard and a 8 core xeon setup.
Gavin Garcia
why is AMD set to extreme and Intel set to high?
Ayden Gutierrez
because that's how AMD rolls baby
Jaxson Turner
I see what you did there

IT'S OVER, AMD IS FINISHED & BANKRUPT

cause you can't add half a core, oh wait...

What

Are you saying that we can buy it now and cheaper than an i5?

Nice links...

um this actually proves my AMD fears incorrect, it looks like the IPC caught up to intel.
If you think these are gonna be released at 2.8 ghz you are fucking high.
I'm impressed, was gonna go intel for my next purchase, now I gotta wait and see.
Already moved my NAS, virtual host and laptop over to intel, all I had left was my desktop.
they're both ran in standard, both at the same resolution, and both 8 core 16 threads. but they're different ES samples.
one is ES 102801A2M88E4 and scores 5,300. the other is ES 202801A2M88E4 and scores 3,100.
wccftech does touch on this but they decided to completely ignore the 202801A2M88E4 results. >There doesn’t seem to be any difference at first sight between the 1D and 2D variants. They are both purportedly clocked at the same rates and the only difference that we can see is the fact that the 2D variant fares much worse in terms of performance. .................. >In any case, because of these reasons, I decided to focus on the 1D variant for our comparison.
clearly these are indeed ES samples and being ES samples we cannot truly gauge zen's performance since they have TWO ES samples floating around with drastic performance differences between the two. these are not finished zen products, only test, ENGINEERING samples.
Brandon Perry
The little faggot who first posted this nonsense on the Anandtech forums got his shit slapped for it.
Alexander Allen
The 6700K runs at a higher clock and is faster per core, what's the issue?
Nathan Green
>AMD - Another Major Disappointment nice
Nicholas Gomez
Did you really honestly truly believe they were going to hit a 95w TDP on 8 cores with clocks close to 4Ghz? The 5960x is rated for 140tdp with slightly higher clocks and AVX512 capability.
Intel can barely manage 65w on a 3.8ghz quad core with no HT, with about half being the uncore parts and Zen likely being similar in that regard Zen is a server platform first, consumer second. Parallelism and wide+slow takes precedence over absolute single core speed.
