real world results tell a different tale, every chip fabbed on 14LPP so far has underperformed relative to competition that was fabbed on intel's 14nm and tsmc's 16nm process.

This piques my curiosity - imagine fury x on 14nm LPP. Getting higher clocks might still be a challenge due to the sheer density of the chip. Then again if you kept die size the same that wouldn't be an issue but I suppose that sort of defeats the point.

the price difference here has nothing to do with clockspeed, it's about PCIe lanes.
6800k has 28, 6850k has 40.
They both are unlocked "K" CPUs and both OC to identical levels.
