Why haven't you made your own OS?

So i used to provide functions and variables for GTK2, and "made" my own distro called "Redundancy". It was really just a blackbox fork with fbpanel

I'm not smart enough

I installed Ubuntu, it's pretty much the same thing

I have a job and it doesn't involve making my own OS but is similar enough to it that if I did so in my spare time I would almost definitely kill myself.

Why would i?

Because the existing options satisfy my requirements.

Because I have no idea how

i have a life

because i don't have the need to brush up my CV with some useless projects that only make me look like a pretentious loser

I don't have Schizophrenia.

Because I haven't had an idea to make an interesting OS. The languages I've written have been exploring a design space that I wanted to explore and didn't see many existing options in that area. If I were to write an OS it would exist in a similar niche.

I did. I took ubuntu, added some new packages and made a simple DE. It's called mint btw

3/10 b8

Why haven't you make your own processor?

ITT: Excuses

Boy did this one really trigger the failures.

You're not dead yet...

i got into idols ;_;

Why reinvent the wheel?

I have some ideas, but they'd only pay off on my CPU.

Why not replace it with something better? Like hover shit.

I'm the actual creator of Mint. Buzz off.

prove it, imposter

You first.

I just described the distro in detail, now you

>Why haven't you made your own OS?
but i have you cia nigger

>in detail
Not really, no.

Post pic with timestamp

I have neither the knowledge, nor the need to.
Linux does all i want, literally.

Because NET installs of ____ linux distribution with my own desired packages is more convenient. You can create your own thing with JWM. The only gripe I have is that I can only automatically do 1x1 split panels, and not 2x2, etc. like tiling managers.

Fuck off you dipshit, not until you prove anything

I took Ubuntu, added some new packages and made a simple DE and named it Mint.

ITT: 2 niggers pretending they made Mint.

>Why haven't you made your own OS?
but i have ?
fuck, every CS student has done it..

>CS student
Counter Strike? Go back to Russia.

Affirmative.

If I hadn't put tape on my webcam I would've proved I'm not a nigger.

Take it off, negro.

I did it was called TidOS

I got up to the point of having a half-working shell and then I just sort of stopped working on it.

github.com/TidOS/TidOS

>A preconfigured/prericed Arch Linux installation for those that want a quick and dirty setup.

Because I can't do something of that magnitude. Not alone, at least.

Then again, I could just contribute to some project like KolibriOS and it'd feel the same way.

I did in college, and I wouldn't want to do it again

>biebian.sourceforge.net/
>The idea began on Sup Forums's Sup Forums.

Well i've thought about it before. but never really felt the motivation to start and go through with it. I'm sure it could be a fun and tedious project, but as a solo project it'd never get done.

Sup Forums should make an OS

A few weeks ago I actually came up with a design proposal for a processor capable of natively executing brainf*ck.

i installed i3

Get on it. Ill make the logo.

I enjoy how this entire concept is based on pronouncing Debian wrong

Because I have a job.

I'm a horrible failure at life and any attempt at making my own OS would result in horrible failure

where is your self esteem lad

negative megalomania is still megalomania

I'm not skilled enough yet. I am going to though. Not a normal one though, I'm going to learn Forth and write an OS on top of Open Firmware.

Same reason I haven't done anything else:
Every time I try, someone comes out and shows me somebody has already done it better

I did. All it did was print "LOL" over and over.

This. I have no need for my own distro. Besides, if I really wanted to make my own OS, I'd install Arch and basically customise the living fuck out of it.

Watch her panties get wet when i say i made my own network protocol

Too late buddy

github.com/install-logos/logos

you can say the first step was successful

Square wheels are best though.

I like to start with the basic, like how to create fire with rocks.
