It's a simple misunderstanding, you think you're paying for Mbs but you're getting Mibs, read the fine print.
3.5 megabytes per second download is what im paying for
>2001+15
>3.5 mbps
Holy Christ what kind of shithole are you from?
Do websites throttle download speeds? I have 100 mbps according to SpeedTest, but when downloading things online or updating packages, I rarely see anything higher than 3mbps.
Welcome to the 3rd world - pajeet

>3.5 Mbps is NOT 3.5 MB/s
KYS
I'm sure that's what the retard at the front counter told you sure.
It's what I was getting until my connection and router started fucking off 1-2 days ago and now it's shit
what the fuck
i live in putanothershrimponthebarbie-land and i get nearly 50mbps
how is fucking burgerland internet so bad
monopolies and corporations
I get 17meg just on adsl. 3.5? what
Such is life in Australia
Obviously you should post about it on Sup Forums instead of calling your ISP and demanding to know what the fuck is up.
>2 mbps upload
>thinks it is good
Never said it was good
I pay $5 / month

dunno how the terms of use apply in your country but in mine it will always say that you can get a constant 40% of the offered speed the rest depends on your luck on some days
try testmy.net and report back
Yes, but go try out www.testmy.net
I know your pain
Its been two decades since the beginning of the broadband and we adsl users with no alternatives, are lucky if we get 6/0.6mbps plus you have to pay the standard monopolized prices that in some cases is higher than fiber, cable or even unlimited 4g movile data traffic.
Not to mention cooper lines in rural areas are barely capable of any kind of QoS in data transfers.
have you tried unplugging the router? Or just cleaning your dns cache?
>living in rural area
>apply for a 5mbps local aerial connection offer
>next day I see a 10mbps offer for same price
Fuck.
You're paying for 3.5 Megabits down
You're getting .7 Megabytes down
Networking is in bits, storage is in bytes, don't ask why just go with it.
>get 50mbps at the router
>wifi only reaches 14mbps in my bedroom
>adjacent bedroom gets 42mbps
>wireless
you asked for it
then it's almost definitely an issue on your end, have you tried changing ethernet cable? i had a similar issue once and it was the ethernet cable, served me well for 10yrs but his time had come
if that doesn't fix it call the isp, tell them your issue and they'll help you out
3.5?
What do you need 3 for?
how crap is your wifi router? or how big is your house?
The router is diagonally from mine so even though it's close it passes through many solid walls and rooms
REEEEEEE
>3.5 Mb/s
You move to a place with normal connectivity
Get a Ubiquity AP. Those built-in radios on the routers are ass.
