Why aren't you using wireless headphones and earphones yet?
It's not 2012 anymore, battery life isn't shit, they don't sound like shit, and they don't cost an arm and a leg anymore.
Why aren't you using wireless headphones and earphones yet?
Lag, interference.
>it's not 2012 anymore
Stale memes are stale
bluetooth audio still sounds like shit.
>wireless anything
Literally trash.
>what is Bluetooth 4.0
>what is aptX
Nice meme gramps
>battery life isn't shit
That's subjective
I think battery life is quite crap
Being a bully isn't going to make your protocol good.
You can get headphones with 40 hours playback time
Because having to charge your headphones is incredibly retarded.
But my wired headphones have unlimited playback time!
Why should I switch?
Having to plug them in is retarded
You want an honest answer?
Yes
>Having to plug them in is retarded
Not at all.
>implying you don't have to plug them in to charge
Bluetooth 4.x still sucks.
For music
It's more a matter of convenience.
>10m range in standard low cost headphones
>no wires hanging about
Those are the 2 main reasons I ordered my pair at least.
They're better for jogging, they let me use my phone while it's charging and let's me answer calls from the next room.
I will use wired headphones though but I'm debating the switch to something cheap like the bluedio turbines.
I've had the wire catch in the most annoying places and yank my earphones off, but when I tuck it under my shirt it feels like shit.
The Bluetooth ones sound almost as good as my vmoda remotes despite costing much less, more bassy and a bit weaker mids, but they were also a sixth the cost so I'm not complaining.
It's a choice, but once you try it out you'll realise that being anti wireless is just a meme.
Also, for the people bitching about sound quality, from my personal experience I'm going to have to say you're the same fucks who think there's a large discernible difference between flac and 320kb mp3. Stupid audiophiles.
t. Someone who hasn't used it
So what's a good wireless headphone, which is not overpriced, meaning you can buy it for less than 150 bucks.
Right now I am using the Creative Aurvana Live! with Denon drivers.
Was the best bang for your buck.
Welcome to the future, this thing called removable cords exist.
Because
>bulky as fuck and pointless for anything but sitting around
>less than 3 hours battery life
Pick one
>inb4 chink shit
Look up reviews, it's fucking amazing for the price, can't wait for mine to come in.
Also ordered the n2.
>implying you can't run good Bluetooth headphones off the aux connector
>implying you can't run good Bluetooth headphones off the aux connector
I did not imply that.
I was asking a question.
I legitimately didn't not know hybrids we're a thing
Yeah m8, bulky as fuck. These have 18 hour battery life too. As OP said, it's not 2012 anymore.
>less than 3 hours battery life
Maybe on $4 chink shit.
Bluedio n2 lasts 5 hours and only costs ~8 usd last time I checked.
Pay more for better earphones and get better battery life too.
Hybrids are amazing. It let's you save the battery for when wireless is more convenient.
>They're better for jogging, they let me use my phone while it's charging and let's me answer calls from the next room.
Do small earphones also have good battery life?
dumb girlposter
why heteros are such idiots
Depends on which ones you get.
I got the n2 which only cost A$9.8 and battery lasts a day for me. They say 5 hours playback time which I'd say is fairly accurate. For the price, I'm genuinely pleased.
Pretty sure I've seen some that can get more than 8 hours though, but again, I just went with the cheapest option because I was a little worried, since hpg was so hostile about it when I asked I didn't want to risk it.
Bluedio m2 only costs a tiny bit more and gets over 7 hours, just checked, probably should have gone with those instead, kek
>implying i can use those at work and not have them fall off 100 times a night
So you bitch about them being bulky and now they're not bulky enough? But alright, just get these then, even longer battery life.
No they need to be less bulky or the need some way of staying on my head when i move it around alot
They look fucking retarded, pic related.
>they don't sound like shit
I buy some headphones/IEMs because I like how the sound, I'm not gonna some bluetooth ones just because they don't suck anymore
10 hours battery life, designed to stay in your ears during intense workouts.
Good enough?
>Also, for the people bitching about sound quality, from my personal experience I'm going to have to say you're the same fucks who think there's a large discernible difference between flac and 320kb mp3. Stupid audiophiles.
Bluetooth is ~200kb/s, which is disgusting.
Objectively worse sound quality than their wired counterparts
They look like they would be ok of course it depends on how long they last at full volume
Stupid audiophile
this look and I'm 100% sure they sound like shit
they're not paying you to shill this poorly
Your audiophile tier garbage looks even worse ;-)
But it sounds good
I don't like having a battery close to my ear.
I'm poor.
I like the assssssthetic.
Probably one of my favorite designs on headphones.
That's not an issue anymore
I don't know what timeframe you're living in, but here in 2016 America we don't have free college, universal healthcare or basic income (yet).
What in the fuck is basic income and why does it sound like a thing thats going to piss me off?
They may not sound like shit but they're not top tier yet either. Maybe one or two companies make truly audiophile grade headphones with the necessary amp, DAC, and wireless hardware.
And they may not be absurdly expensive but they're still more expensive than a wired headphone that will beat the shit out of it in quality.
LiOn has given us lighter batteries, but batteries plus DAC and amplification hardware still weight more than nothing, which still decreases comfort.
Don't get me wrong, I'd love not having to have a cord dangling off my head, but that's not worth a single one of these other trade-offs (well, I'd pay more money for it, and maybe accept ~30g extra weight).
Oh, I do use wireless earphones for exercise. Never having to worry about a wire catching on something has been nice.
I've been thinking about getting a wireless headset for gaming, but that seems silly when I already have a decent headphone and mic.
Basic Income is a stipend given to all citizens of a country. Two European countries have actually voted on implementing it, and others have discussed it.
Various figures in early US history touted a similar concept, Negative Income Tax (sounds like what it is, at a low enough income, the IRS gives people money instead of takes it).
There are various arguments for it, particularly compared to welfare. Savings in administration costs would be quite high, and it would allow workers greater freedom to do things like strike for better working conditions, stop working to retrain or reeducate themselves, or move to follow work.
You can literally buy chink earphones from 5 dollars or headphones from 20 dollars.
because my DAC doesn't work over bluetooth and I like having a low noise floor
I have a pair of Sony MDR-ZX310s for $15 and they sound great. I don't think cheap Chinese knock-off bluetooth headphones would sound better than that.
No that is a horrible idea take it burn it and kill yourself do you want a bunch of lazy good for nothing lounging around? Or people rioting when they decide its not enough?
>do you want a bunch of lazy good for nothing lounging around?
That's already happening.
>bluedio
>chink knock off
who's that cute slut?
Yes and they get what they deserve for it too nothing with this we would be handing all of them an excuse to never try or never do any god danmed thing and at the point we are doing this becuase robots do all the work why even bother keeping money? Whats the point?
Basic income is inevitable and will be necessary as automation kicks in and causes major displacements in the labor sector. Human labor workers will need a source of income to live.
I want to punch that cunt right in the face for making that expression
At that point money is pointless and might as well be tossed in the bin along side arranged marriages
...
Ayy, love my 310s too, got them for 35 aud.
But I also enjoy my bluedio n2 earphones which only cost me 9aud and sound really nice for that price
>tossed in the bin along side arranged marriages
You know this is still popular right?
Popular and heavily looked down upon becuase ots disguating
>Or people rioting when they decide its not enough?
There WILL be riots when people are out of jobs when their jobs are inevitably replaced by robots (it's happening regardless of what the minimum wage is; a higher minimum wage will only hasten it) and they have no alternative source of income.
And at that point money becomes an outdated and tired concept and might as well be done away with
because panasonic ergofit are super cheap (disposable) and comfortable
Couples in arranged marriages are far more happier than couples in "romantic" marriages.
Shortening a headphone cable from 5 meters to 1.5 meters and using a four wire cable can objectively improve quality (crosstalk reduction), but at some point you have to stop caring about differences that are very small.
>Bluetooth is ~200kb/s
SBC high quality stereo is 328 kbps, Bluetooth audio can do much more than that, and can work with much more than just SBC.
Bluetooth 3.0 was 25mbps iirc, not sure about how much that's been improved on in 4.0 or 4.1
Who is Steve Wozniak?
Apple co founder, wasn't it?
Yes. He said the other day that removing the headphone jack from the iPhone 7 was a mistake because adapters are a pain in the ass and BT audio sucks balls. He was not wrong on either count.
Okay, Pajeet.
I'm only going to give a shit about wireless when:
> inductive charging
> audio quality on par with wired
> microphone (not sure how this is ever happening)
All in in ear buds, not headphones.
Doesn't aptx fix the audio quality issue?
And most of them already have a mirophone
I wanted to make the switch cause the cables keep getting caught in stupid places when I go for a run / bike.
I asked csg for a cheap option and no one helped recommend one so I'm still using my ear pods for now
Maybe you'll recommend one for me to try out?
You want in ear, or over ear?
If you want cheap, your best bet is bluedio
definitely not over ear but I have a weird ear that can't really use in ear that well (it pops out after a while due to oil or something)
I took a look at bluedio and it seems fine for what I want to do.
However, reading through the thread, some were mentioning apt x and how bluetooth can't transmit 320kbps music without compresion, how true is that?
A quick google search indicates that might be a real issue for FLAC but it is possible for AAC 320kbps which is most of my musics.
I didn't realize there is a limitation in bluetooth in this aspect but it shouldnt hinder me from getting a wireless one in the near future
>good range
>good battery
>good size
Pick two of these,
>good build quality
>good sound quality
>good price
and pick two of these.
The result is why they're a shit meme for shit dudes.
Modern Bluetooth earphones sound fine, they're pretty much on par with non Bluetooth ones.
I've ordered the bluedio n2 and it should be here this week, but after going through the thread I'd recommend the m2 instead since its got better battery life.
Pretty sure they come with ear hooks too, to hold them in place
I prefer to have less things. I have a single pair of headphones, which work with any device I want to use them with. They'll also work a few decades from now, when your wireless shit is long gone.
>what is aptX
what are patent royalties
what is my spreadsheet looks cheaper without it let's ship
>when wireless is long gone
You mean wires.
Wi-Fi Direct headphones when?
eww
>implying battery life has improved much since 2012
It's the area in technology that barely improves. Even processors have improved much more than batteries despite the recent slowdown.
Batteries may not have improved much according to you, but battery life definitely has.
>being this retarded
A$12 Bluetooth in ears get 7 hours.
A$25 Bluetooth overear headphones get 40 hours.
That's plenty.
Also let's go over battery life in other tech.
More Laptops are now lasting 10 hours+ without needing fuckhuge batteries, Android phones have almost doubled SoT in the last 3 years.
You are wrong
These are pretty nice for music, i still have my TDKs from 2 years ago for watching movies or playing Osu, latency is an issue for me
iPhone 4 battery capacity (2010): 1420 mAh
iPhone 5 battery capacity (2012): 1440 mAh
iPhone 6 battery capacity (2014): 1810 mAh.
iPhone 7 battery capacity (2016): 1960 mAh
That's a 38% increase over 6 years, which is really quite a poor improvement compared to other improvements like processing power.
Battery's are shit, you are wrong.
Yes but look at how much battery life has improved.
Capacity isn't everything you retard.
I'm no audiophile, but even I can hear the difference between Potato, 192, 256 and 320 or greater.
That's because of software related improvements and processor related improvements. Among other things.
Also the capacity growth was overstated because phone companies went for the larger phone meme, so part of the increase is from just size alone.
A pair of Bluetooth headphones only needs to power the coil in the headphones themselves. The power usage of the headphones is dependent on its resistance (P=I^2 R) hence to minimize power use you'd have unamped low resistance headphones that likely doesn't make for the best sound. There hasn't really been any improvements here either, just ask your resident audiophile.
So for headphones, capacity matters even more so than phones, and phones it matters a lot (for phones CMOS scaling has improved battery life as well).
Because g is full of useless idiots who think they can tell the difference between flac and 320kbps mp3 using their smartphone
>implying wireless headsets do sound like shit
You're a fucking idiot
