I need to host a really small program written in java. It is a "server" program, so it needs to be running 24/7. It takes fuck all cpu/ram/storage requirements.
How can I do this for free? I was looking at Amazon AWS free tier but I am still confused.
Pic unrelated

Yep, but I don't want to ask my uni if they can host it.
The stuff isn't illegal at all, but it is questionable.

I have no issues with hosting it myself, I don't pay for power or electricity
BUT
I can't port forward it to be internet facing, as I don't control my internet :/

Yeah but there is a million vps hosting companies. Which is the best/cheapest? idc about lag, 1mbps connection is more than enough.

I don't know if this would work but it's very cheap: nearlyfreespeech.net /
Also there are some $1/month VPNs around I think.

Hi I'm a professional developer and I use for Linux compatible stuff a vps named dime vps, the 7 dollar plan is good and it's ready almost instantly. Also the support team is good, do not recommend if you're used to setting up a server, whatever are your needs.

Google cloud computing. You can spin up free instances. I'm not sure what the catch is though. Probably bandwidth limits and all that.
