9 dollar mini PC with Debian.
Can I use it for emulation?
My mouse is acting up, wheel scroll will stutter in an opposite direction and clicking sometimes opens multiple tabs. I'm guessing it needs a cleaning, but how do I do that without destroying it?
apparently my laptop's GPU only supports 32 bit color, which is a pain since I'm trying to run a game that only supports 16 bit.
How do I get it to work?
You can emulate a $0.99 calculator
It's a mouse.
Invest $5 in a new one.
What GPU and OS?
NVS 4200M
Windows 8.1
>not Dwight
You had one job.
It'd probably help if we knew what it was.
just open it up carefully
my mx518 has been cleaned a few times since I bought it, and my trackball mouse is super easy to clean
>buying a new thing when you can just fix the current thing you have
>$800
Assuming it's a laptop
not even worth it New In Box
Open it and do what though? Can of air, cotton swab? I don't know what to expcet.
and why exactly?
I use cotton swabs and a small amount of iso alcohol
because it's AMD and you could get a better new laptop for $800
you could get a T420 and a 512GB ssd for $400-500 or so
is there REALLY no difference between the i5 and i7 for gaming? is that thread memeing me?
Well you can try messing around with the programs compatibility settings in it's properties, or you can go into the nvidia control panel and try changing it under "change resolution", maybe make a profile for whenever you want to play that game.
not unless you want a extra 5-10 frames on the newest games at super high resolutions
only thing that really matters is clock speed for gaymen
if you want to be a degenerate and stream the i7 is better just because it's got 8 threads
Best Place to download apk files.
fuck paying for shit.
Where place router?
There used to be little difference. We're kind of at the transition point now where it's more arguable. It still depends on the game but with more optimized coding and the advent of DX12/Vulcan higher thread count is starting to matter more. If you've got the budget an i7 is starting to be more justified, especially if you're considering VR.
A used t420 with 120 ssd is up for sale for 400$, so the price is a lot different here.
Behind camera.
where the fuck do you live
Fuark, my bad, looked the wrong place. Found a new one on another site for the price range you mentioned. Hmm, never thought of a Thinkpad. Just thought of buying one from one of two stores around here, and it was the best one in our price range.
local computer shops always outrageously overprice things
these niggers are selling a fucking T400 for what you could get a top tier T420 or T430
On top of microwave to extend the range pixels.
I'm trying to install the VLC plugin on Nightly x64, but I can't for the love of god figure out how to do it.
I'd guess it's not compatible with e10 yet. Mozilla's going through weird times addon wise right now.
True, true. They're not even that local, they're like electronic retailer chains. They had a wide range of HPs, Acers and what not but we chose this one instead (Asus) Oh, well. Should've come to Sup Forums in the first place.
Also turned out that the prices vary a LOT around here (Denmark)
A T420 new goes for 1300$ one place and 600$ another place..
Is water really as wet as people say it is? ..asking for a friend
If I only run Windows in a VM for offline games, with no personal data on it, is it safe to disable updates?
I don't know anything about the used computer markets outside the US
the only thing I know is that you should be able to get a decent condition T420 in the US for $200 or less
some updates are actually important since they fix bugs
I normally just disable updates until things start crashing
depends. if your "friend" is very hot, or very cool, it might not be wet at all.
Anybody want to read some big words that don't mean anything?
welp, shit sucks. I'm trying to get kodi streaming through Chorus2 working, but the HTML5 thing doesn't work. VLC plugin was working when I was using the 32bit version but it doesn't like me having a billion tabs open.
whats a good, cheap vps?
want to use one for a terraria game server for some friends and myself
Ramnode
what good reliable program to read iso files
is this a good headset for the money?
Is pic related a good build?
(Also got a 1070 on the way)
7zip or winCDEmu
I'm not seeing a hard drive
I only use like 5GB of space, it'll fit on the SSD
Already got one. I'm more worried about if the motherboard is overkill honestly.
Nobody uses hard drives at home now grandpa.
0/10
Oh yeah. I don't think the average person ever needs to go over $150 for a mobo, $120 if you're even remotely shopping for a deal.
What would you suggest?
Trying to install pygame on ubuntu. I have python2.7 and 3.5; using the
sudo apt install python-pygame
However, that only installs pygame for 2.7. Using the import pygame function for 3.5 returns the no pygame module error.
How can I get pygame to install for 3.5?
you should probably install it via pip and not apt-get
How much does L3 cache size matter when it comes to gaming? Thinking either buying i3 6100 or 6300 with 3mb/4mb respectively.
please help me to understand what i need to do? do i scrap the GPUs or get a new MB or power supply?
got these errors on my build:
>1 additional PCI-Express 6-pin power connector is needed.
>1 additional PCI-Express 8-pin power connector is needed.
What the hell is a "System Admin" anyway? A few of my friends seem are saying they're employed as one but I've never really wanted to ask them what they mean.
not a question:
in the end i'm sticking to Qt. turns out i couldn't run the .exe files because i was creating them "debug" and not for "release". also for the ".dll missing error" turns out i needed them in the same older as the .exe. using "dependency walker" for that now.
still can't run from different directions than created but will look into that later.
I have bonded ADSL.
Both lines are connected to Internet, green lights on the router, but only one will transmit data, blinking green lights.
How do I fix this? I've tried googling it but I can't find anything.
>Build new computer
>Install and update everything including drivers
>Start playing games
>FPS is 60+ with everything on ultra
>Everything running smooth as hell
>After 3 hours shit begins to hit the fan
>Stuttering begins
>Blue screens from failing drivers
>Random reboots
>Artifacts like crazy
>Have latest drivers but still have problems
>Decide to try a different driver
>Downgrade video driver by one version
>Every single problem goes away
I don't get it, could a driver really cause all these problems? This was about a week ago, haven't hand a single problem since downgrading my video driver, why is the latest driver CAUSING issues for my card, shouldn't it be fixing them??
modem/router combo.
>software cannot get worse
see windows
just updating since newegg just updated their price on it.
>Updates drivers
>Video card blows up
Spot the Nvidia user.
No thermal paste at hand - what's the best alternative for a couple of days until I have some?
Get a game one instead. Vastly superior in all cases, unless you really do need to be quiet.
>drivers
You sure did spot the Nvidia user.
sadly i do need to be quite. thanks of responding though. so the game one has a better sound stage?
Yeah, because if it was AMD an explosion wouldn't even register as a temperature difference.
Women and beer.
Mayonnaise
Ummm... there's a lot there that's just wrong.
Should I finally make the move to Win10? Got it for free, I'm on Win7 now and I'm gonna format soon anyways. Is there a guide for Win10 settings like there is for Win7?
It's just a simple open vs closed headset. What is more important, less sound leakage or a better soundstage (and cooler ears)?
Also they are easily the best headphones in their price range, seriously. You will have no regrets. Shit is mid-tier audiophile gear with a very good microphone slapped on for pretty much free.
...
I don't get it. Is AMD missing because zen is never gonna show?
sound stage is very important to me. but i dont want sound leakage. i dont mind my ears getting a little warm either.
B- But user, those do not fit in between the CPU and cooler.
I do not trust this.
Driver's missing because AMD has no drivers
this is more like nvidia.
Here.

No clue if your speakers or keyboard are any good. I'm still using the same keyboard and stereo I bought in 1999.
Should I upgrade from a gtx 960 2gb to a rx 480 4gb.
I've never used amd before. 1080p monitor.
Not much of an upgrade.
I have a number of youtube videos.
I download it with ytdl and used the thumbnail as album cover.
What would happen if I use Ffmpeg to concatenate those files?
Its still a pretty significant upgrade
anandtech.com
They would be concatenated
/ic/ reporting in.
Will GTX 950 + i3 6100 be able to handle photoshop/sai in 2560x1440p ?
You mean the resulting MP3 file will have 3 different album cover?
It isn't? Not being completely and utterly cucked by 2gb of vram and terrible bandwidth would be quite nice, desu.
the 480 seems to bench substantially higher as rightly points out.
I guess I'm just after advice about the general AMD experience. Plays.tv should hopefully be a decent substitute for shadowplay (I rarely record footage anyway).
Game support is the big meme I guess I've always been afraid of, but I don't really play games when they're new. I pretty much always wait until they're at least a few months old.
Not really, since all he's doing is moving from "very high" to "ultra" in the latest games. Everything else the 960 can max already.
>Not being completely and utterly cucked by 2gb of vram and terrible bandwidth would be quite nice, desu.
You were cucked the instant you went into Sup Forums with a below average IQ.
I doubt it
Any modern GPU can handle 1440p
Photoshop performance will be less than ideal with an i3 but it will work
If you want to run 144hz the extra frames are nice
Also future games
>something totally unrelated about Sup Forums, a board I don't browse
w-what?
I can't play the latest games at Very High at 60fps with the 960, especially when it comes to texture quality which is one of the most important aspects to make things look decent for me.
>I doubt it
I see, so maybe only the first file's album cover will be inserted.
Then how to concatenate files using ffmpeg and youtube-dl in single command?
youtube-dl -x --audio-format mp3 --audio-quality 0 --embed-thumbnail --exec 'ffmpeg -f concat -i {} concated.mp3 && rm {}' 'URL 1' 'URL 2'
Would this work?
What is a good frontend to KODI (XBMC) that works like netflix? Browse and then just click to stream on the browser.
>MP3
what are you doing?
He's trying to download songs from youtube and concatenate them together
Couldn't tell you if that would work, but with the process you're using you're doing a double lossy encode. If you tell youtube-dl to download mp3 that just means it downloads the best quality then converts it to mp3. You want to download the native aac or opus file then concatenate then convert to mp3 if you really want an mp3 file for whatever reason.
Skylake Pentuim g4400 or Haswell Pentuim g3258?
Pairing with rx 460
Why?
Is there anyway to sync and edit tasks you've set on Google Calendar via Android?
3258 if you overclock, otherwise 4400
Because i want a budget gami- i mean responsible work machine with upgrade paths in the future but for now which pentuim can benefit me longer
