GTX 1060 6GB vs RX 480 8 GB.
Exact same price.
Cmon man are you even trying?
The answer is
c) put it in a savings account or buy gold/stocks
I don't understand what I did wrong...
save up some more pocket money and get away from mid tier trash
Video games are not very important.
Sooner or later you will need a new washing machine, a car repair, a new kitchen, ...
Save
1060

wtf guys.
Literally yesterday I asked what was the best card for average vidya gamer. And you guys said 480 vs 1060.
Not I'm being told I'm an idiot...
If video games suck so much how do you know who Zenyatta is?
I have $75k.
But the average gaymer spends less time playing vidya than the normie playing some f2p garbage on their cell phone.
How long are you planning on having it for?
My current graphics card is a GT 220 fuck you guys... Thank to the one guy for the advice.
Until I kill myself in a couple years.
If you're planning on having it for more than two years go with the 480, Nvidia is very good in the short term but is worse in the long term. This is also not mentioning the rise of DX12/Vulkan which AMD shows more promise in.
>I have $75k.
You'll have 75250$ if you don't buy either GPU
what do you want me to do with my money?
what graphics card do you have?
Not him, but invest in silver
Ya I like that idea. If I get the RX 480 should I get the 4 GB or the 8 GB.
I saw a couple ">I fell for the 4 GB meme" threads yesterday.
Only about a $50 dollar price difference.
>what graphics card do you have?
Intel integrated
never mind I was looking at 470 not 480
price difference is zero
Doesn't Overwatch run on a toaster? My GTX1080 does it 4k@60fps, which is a surefire indication that it's not made for high-end PCs. I support OP's decision to buy a mid-end GPU if he plays nothing but that shit.
I'd get the 1060 because it has much better power efficiency, so it'll run cooler and quieter.
oh jeez, that's hard. 4GB is going to be good for at least the next year, but after that, the new consoles getting more RAM might make it not enough. If you want to be safe and spend more money go for the 8gb 480, if not, go for the 470 because if you raise its power limit it is within 95% performance of a 480.
It doesn't have MUCH better power efficiency, the TDP of the 1060 is 120w and the 480 is 150w. However, if you care a lot about this it is something to take into consideration.
Games that can even occupy more than 6GB VRAM will be rare for many years to come. GTA V maxed out needs just over 5GB, and it's a very pretty game with lots of stuff going on. Even then, midrange cards can't even crunch the VRAM-heavy features like MSAA fast enough, anyway.
also, the 470 has a 120w TDP as well
I like my rx 480 that I have. Runs every game fine without getting over 75c. But if you're planning on just getting another card later on like in a year, get the 1060. But if you're planning on using it for 2+ years then go for it.
install your cpu cooler you piece of shit
I was never talking about 6GBs I was talking about 4gb limits, which there are games now that use more than that at times. Besides, why do you think that there will not be games that use 6GB of Vram in the near future? With the PS4 and Xbone the VRAM requirements jumped up. Back then people were saying how you'd never need more than 3gb ever in a game. The same thing will happen when the Scorpio and Neo are released.
This was a picture before I put everything together.
Computers don't even POST until you install a fan
>buying sub-8GB graphics cards in 2016
>Scorpio and Neo
I doubt they'll be worth looking at desu senpai
>computers are not very important
>anime collectibles are not very important
>hobbies are not very important
Go kill yourself.
Everyone has a different concept of what is important to them. Lives are important to the common folk, no one in here gives a shit if people die tho.
both are okay. you don't really need more than 4gb for 1080 games.
amd has shitty software though so dont rely on most of their stuff.
>anime collectibles
>hobby
Are you serious?
This and wait for HBM2
>not trying to turn that $75k to $75m
I didn't say to buy them, I said that they're going to change the base requirements of a PC
