>decide to try out OpenSUSE >comes preinstalled with a million fucking programs >theres a program that literally just displays a ruler on the screen For what fucking reason? This is about as bad as Android bloat.
>try to install kodi since it’s not in the default repositories (but they had room for fucking KRuler??) >have to manually add it in and install it with command line >it crashes first time I try and start it This is why people don’t take Linux seriously
Grayson Thompson
Try Ubuntu. Also I think openPEPE lets you select what packages you want when you first install it from its gigantic ISO file .
Jack Collins
That's true, this retard must have mindlessly selected everything and he blames OS for that.
Gabriel Myers
this. I remember having tried out openSuSe a few weeks ago and it was by far the most bloated shit I've seen in my entire life. Actually it's even more bloated than Windows.
Ian Jones
OpenSUSE or CentOS?
Jackson Clark
This shit is the biggest meme distribution. It serves no purpose for beginners or experts or anyone in between
Isaiah Cook
>I don't want bloat Install gentoo. The truth is a lot of people like having a ton of crap out of the box.
Robert Thomas
It used to be a great professional distro. Then they tried to make it be all things to all needs and it got watered down. You can still make it lean and light, but you have to know what you are doing.
Jaxon Thompson
>Gentoo but that requires effort
Camden Flores
Install Ubuntu MATE
Gavin Long
Actually I take it back, tumbleweed is pretty cool
Michael Butler
Those are programs bundled with kde, they have nothing to do with opensuse. If you don't want them, don't use kde, or remove them in literally 5 minutes.
Nathaniel White
It's a great distro, all in one distro so everything already there.
Josiah Ross
>Install Mint MATE fixed it for you mate
Nathaniel Cruz
>decide to try out linux >dig out old unused laptop >use lubuntu cause old hardware >start install >error: unsafe swap bullshit >a bug that's as old as the universe still unfixed right in the installer >shakes head >google workaround >finally install >download updates >all of a sudden mouse cursor disappears >shakes head again >google issue >"it's a b-bug." >mouse cursor disappearing bug in 2016 soon 2017 >finish installing updates >shutdown, reformat and never touch the laptop again
YEAR OF THE LINUX DESKTOP

OpenPEPE worst OS. try Fedora
Joseph Watson
>using lubuntu Anyway, works on my machine™
Alexander Rodriguez
Manjaro is the path to enlightenment.
Jayden Anderson
enough with the memes
Carter Barnes
>comes preinstalled with a million fucking programs GOOD THING YOU CAN SELECT WHAT PROGRAMS TO INSTALL WITH THE OS HUH?
Xavier Moore
Using openPEPE on workstation since early 2014. Stable as fuck, feels good man.
Isaac Sanchez
There many programs in OpenSUSE. It runs GNOME3, Firefox48, Midori 0.5 Browser, Chromium Browser, F-spot (Photo organiser), Liferea (News Client), some games and many others. It only falls when you try to update it and has poor PDF reader, that can read only small files. Fedora has more programs if you want, but has more mistakes.
Jayden Reed
Look at Ubuntu MATE if you want a green system that actually werks.
Jacob Russell
Also OpenSUSE can play MP3 files by Firefox or Rhythmbox.
Matthew Robinson
If you have money for Windows, then 3D games and thousands of programs are waiting for you.
Anthony Kelly
it all went downhill when they moved from germany to the us.
Jason Murphy
listen to the expert guys
Matthew Myers
this, fedora just works and doesn't have stone age packages like canonical shit
Thomas Clark
>COMMAND LINE

Ayden Thomas
>another thing destroyed by 'murica
Easton Barnes
You can select which packages you'want during the installation process. Guess you clicked "next" when you got to that part.
