Pls help me I'm just trying to install it and learn.

The octothorpe means root, my friend. livecd is just the hostname the live system has preset, and the ~ means you're in the home directory (in the case of the root user, /root)

Install funtoo instead. It's easier.

You can install Gentoo from any live CD. I recommend sysresccd, which is much nicer (and still Gentoo based, so a little bit more convenient).

OP here wtf i installed and it's just a bunch of text and shit LOL this is gay, going back to windows. Linux is a load of shit, it's cli only, no mouse, way too hard for the average user.
