What IP cameras and software does Sup Forums use?
I have a cheap D-Link camera, but I am looking to expand to get a few more.
I have looked into iSpy and it seems to be a decent program.

Not OP, but how are IP cams different from regular CCTV cams? Is it possible to simply connect them via LAN to a PC and view the feed on a browser?
I would very much like to avoid using proprietary DVRs if possible.
Ip camera thread.
It's been a while, let's get this started then.
Shop Hikvision from BHphotovideo or if you don't mind being cheap you can buy Hikvision off Amazon without warranty.
This is kind of unrelated, but does anyone else go on insecam.org when they get bored? It's basically just a huge archive of unsecured IP cameras. It's mostly shit like garages and shops but sometimes you find some really interesting and slightly creepy ones.
I remember one of those thread where someone posted what looks like to be the basketball court of a random elementary school Nothing out of the ordinary until the gymnastic class started practicing and the thread was flooded with pedos. Those fuckers then tracked their schedule just to tune in time. Just like your favourite twitch stream...
How to power a cam without PoE?
I want to put one infornt my building.
Holy fuck this is scary
how do i prevent my cams to get on that website?
I just buy cheap ass ESCAM cameras.
I don't need the full 30 FPS I just need them to work.
And I use Synology Security station to record so as to avoid alot of configs and shit.
Pretty much , IPSec Cameras use the onvif protocol (All of them, some have better proprietary versions but whatever) you just get a program that works with onvif and you can turn any computer into a recording machine.
My personal preference is using XPEnology (Basically synology for PC a NAS OS, you can virtualize it if you don't have a spare computer) and record it with the Security station.
You know you can splice the ethernet cables that do PoE to a transformer and it would work right?
Or you can just mount it on a wall put a tiny sealed box and put a small transformer in it.
You remove the default user and password and set your own (Preferably setting your own first heh) and then change the camera ports if not blocking them acess to the outside world if you're only using them locally).
Is there any place that offers free online storage for cam footage?
Doesn't have to be anything special, just maybe sore the last 24h.
They all suck balls though unless you're using good brands (the higher end brands have their own cloud platform to do these things and their free I think)
Cheap VPS and install FTP or something similar.
Don't be a retard and leave the default password on the admin account.
Looks like pipe bombs
>FR
>Looks like pipe bombs
Great, now the poor guy that put the camera up is going to get SWATed.
At least it doesn't look like he's growing weed like in this one : insecam.org
shitty netbook + couple of webcams
I have a shitty chinese dvr with 8 analog inputs, I've been looking for a 16 channels one with a software that doesn't suck but it's hard
Thats a bit overengeneeired for pipe bombs.
>Synology
50 bucks per IP cam license kinda kills it, the cams I buy cost that much.
Blue Iris DVR software
Hikvision cameras
Done.
Setup your storage needs in BI, setup motion triggers, hide it behind a VPN. There, now it's secure and remotely accessible.
