I can hit between 70 and 80 wpm with minimal effort but I only use 4 fingers, the index and middle fingers specifically. Reason for this is that I learned to type from gaming and you don't learn to type properly in school here.

Should I learn to type properly or is it too late after all these years?

Pretty happy with this. About 6 months ago I had plateaued at about 100wpm now I can mostly consistently do 110+

lrn 2 type the right way. There's a lot of websites/programs that exist which can help. You will be slower at first but the gains will outweigh the loss.
