Noise isolation ≠ Noise cancellation

tell me a decently priced $50-$100 headphone that won't look like shit in public places. aliexpress is fine.

Use IEMs if you're in public a lot:

Shure SE215
RHA MA750 / MA750i
Yamaha EPH-100
Xiaomi Piston 3
JVC HA-FXT90

I agree with , Iems make much more sense if you are outside a lot, i mean, there are a few good on-ears and even a few small over-ears that work fine outside, but they will never be as discreet, portable or isolate as much.

Any not to expensvie DACs to go with O2?

amazon.com/Sabrent-External-Adapter-Windows-AU-MMSA/dp/B00IRVQ0F8

Just specify your budget otherwise I'll just say ODAC for ~$150.

That looks like shit.

50euros

Asking "Hey guys, what's your opinion on x?" is frowned upon.
Wireless is frowned upon.
Headset requests are frowned upon.

And likely worse than your motherboard audio.

What is your current source? You probably don't need a cheap DAC unless you're hearing noise or interference.

Fuck off shitter

Laptop motherboard.

Please save me.

My laptop's sounds like crap too, o went with an audio interface, what's your budget?

no more on wof
no reason to live

Hello, Sup Forums. Hoping you can offer some advice. Looking for some good quality headphones, mostly for gaming, music, podcasts at night so as not to bother my neighbors.

I already have a FiiO E12 amp. Using some shitty old Bose headphones I got as a gift.

>Budget
$200-$500
>Location

>Source

>Preferred type of headphone
>Open or closed
Doesn't matter, whatever sounds better. I'll just be using these in my room, not in public.
>Comfort level
Good to very comfortable.
>Preferred tonal balance
Whatever is best for gayming
>Past headphones
Bose TP-1A

What's a good pair of earbuds for 20 euros, relative quality for the price

A cheap but ugly solution is the Behringer UCA202. May sound better than your laptop but I can't be sure.

If you can stretch your budget a little, I would go with the SMSL M3

>Sennheiser
Yep, it will snap.

DT880 for well balanced v-shape, K702 for wide stage, HD600 for slightly warm , HD650 or Fidelio X2 if you preffer warmer than HD600.

Thanks!

wheres her right ear?!

Need something cheap to listen to music while outside

Incidentally, this is going for 19 euros, good buy?

>open
>outside

What are some good closed headphones for outside

Also, closed headphones that are a value instead of good

A pair of good in ears?

>bringing $1000 headphones to the dirtiest place on earth

Sure

I'm ordering speakers, but I didn't buy a stand for them (2 studio monitors).

Does the sound fuck up if it's just sitting on the floor?

they should be at ear level, not floor

fuck, I can only find stands that are like $70, seems a little shitty for stands.

Are there any that are cheaper than that?

They should be lifted up from whatever surface they are on with tweeters aimed at your ears. Where are you planning to place them?

no desk? I'm not sure I understand your setup

My desk is very small, I'll have to just buy some stands. bigger desk wont fit in my room

bob marley earbuds, y/n?

Need to get replacement buds for my Sennheiser M2 IEG's.

Do you guys recommend those foam ones, or should I just get cheap shit like this from amazon:
amazon.co.uk/Isolation-Replacement-Sennheiser-Momentum-Earphones/dp/B00Y4WZAQE/ref=sr_1_4_det?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1469476325&sr=1-4#productPromotions

Wondering same thing, should I get comply tips?

Just by my desk so I can do music production, I'll need stands or something to put it at ear level but stands are kinda pricy.

>tfw wanted to order these but sennheiser only ships to the US

Could you GUY'S help?

Budget - My budget is 100-140 Eur (never more than that, ofc if there is a model that is way better I can wait a bit and get 10 more Eur but that's it

Location - I live in Portugal (Europe) so Amazon is fine

Source - phone and PC, planning to buy a USB sound interface, i am a musician and I want to do tracking and mastering.

Preferred type of headphone - full-sized closed.

Comfort level - as long as they stand in place around my ears and not over them, and they don't hurt I am fine.

Preferred tonal balance - I would like them the flattest I can get. I can use my EQ if I want to spice the bass up. I do like a bit of bass, keep that in mind if there isn't a good pair with a flat tonal balance.

Past headphones (Skip if you're lazy) - some gamecom meme gaming headphones that cost me 30eur

has anyone here tried the AKG K92? They seem to be a reasonable choice for someone looking for a portable closed headphone.

And recording !!!!!

I've heard good things about these:
ortofon.com/silicone-eartips-set-p-577

amazon.co.uk/AIR1-Earphone-Latest-Generation-Earpads/dp/B00THKPMCA/ref=pd_sim_23_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=1K3KY0VN14BE4PWV2NVV

I'm very new to all of this but are the HD 558's a good pair of starting headphones? I mostly listen to music (all kind of music), sometimes make some "music" for projects and occasionally play games.

They are right in my budget but I thought I'd ask before committing.

They're very good for casual listening/gaming, but bad for mixing due to their colored sound signature.

I second the Fidelio X2's

Okay I understand, well I don't produce anything very often anyway. I think I'll be buying them. Thanks dude!

Kill yourself.

Nice picture.

Is that Genelec monitors?

I feel ya

Yea it's an M040.

I have 'em. They're kinda junky but for 19 euros there are no other open back even remotely full size headphones that I know of, or headphones that sound better of any type that I've tried. They're also the lightest full-size headphones I've ever had so that's nice. I have made a minimum-effort convolver impulse response file for 'em at dl.dropboxusercontent com/u/575062/ma100_IR.wav which will improve the sound somewhat.

The only caveat is, is the opportunity cost of getting these not getting better more expensive headphones? They sound nowhere near as good as any of the full size headphones I actually use, all of which originally cost at least 5 times more than what you'd be paying for these.

It's not outside if you can't see the sky.

You can do it.

Anyone ever try something called Superlux HD-681 Evo

They're dirt cheap like those meme cans without the Evo in it

Oh hey you got the IsoAcoustics meme stands too.

Actually considering the M040 over the KH 120 after a little more research.

What do you guys think of the Fiio E10K?

Noice, heard them a while back in an non-ideal environment, was still impressed with them.
Aren't you the faggot with the JBL monitors? You won't get much of an improvement from upgrading. Do you have room treatment? I've got the KH120 but I only got them because it's front ported and quite flat. Even if you flip a coin and upgrade, both are excellent.

Out of curiosity why are you considering the Genelec over the KH120?

Bretty gud

>Out of curiosity why are you considering the Genelec over the KH120?
Look better, better distortion characteristics (possibly due to the size), lower power consumption

I don't really have the opportunity to compare the two as the local shop only has them available through order.

I have to say I dislike the looks of the stands but I really needed them and there weren't many options for the M040s. The old foam pads I had were worn out and I couldn't position the loudspeakers properly with them. I like to think that with these monitors being bottom ported, the extra space underneath could have some benefit. Also less desk bounce now that they are lifted up and aimed properly.

The M040s lack maximum SPL but that hardly matters when I'm sitting a meter a way from them. There is a faint hiss from the class D amps inside but I can't hear it unless I turn my PC off. Bass extension could be better too I guess but it's still good. For the price these go for, they are really nice loudspeakers. I'd tackle on bass in nearfield by other means than better loudspeakers anyway.

Evos are very bassy and have equally poor build to most other Superlux headphones. Really tiny earpads, too. I can't recommend them much as the standard HD-681s are considerably better sounding, imo.

I've been very happy with these. No thoughts about "upgrading".

Do you recommend anything else on that price range? I could splurge a little bit more, if necessary.

Very uncomfortable even with the velour pads that come with them.

>I can't hear it unless I turn my PC off
I should add: and stick my ear to the woofer.

>I like to think that with these monitors being bottom ported, the extra space underneath could have some benefit. Also less desk bounce now that they are lifted up and aimed properly.
Take it with a grain of salt I guess but according to Genelec the port is designed to work fine with either a stand like the IsoAcoustics or on a flat surface, they even make their own foam pads with a metal plate on top specifically for their M030/M040.

>Fiio E10K
In that price range... maybe a SMSL M3 but it's not portable. A Dragonfly Black if you need something ultra portable.

>they even make their own foam pads with a metal plate on top specifically for their M030/M040.
Yeah I noticed that when researching for stand options. The port design is really unconventional on these and I couldn't really say what is for the best here.

Almost want to avoid the M040 just to stop looking like your clone now, what happened to your other desk? Or did you stain it and that's the same one?

Don't really care about portability. Thanks.

Looking for a good pair of wireless headphones I can use when lifting and running. Can't keep my phone in my pocket while squatting.

>$200-300 budget, but really price is no issue
>bluetooth, so i can connect to my phone
>not too bulky

any ideas?

>Almost want to avoid the M040 just to stop looking like your clone now
Or you could think it as being a bro.
>Or did you stain it and that's the same one?
It's the same one, stained and lacquered. I wanted some change and it's easier to clean after a coat of lacquer.

That doesn't look like Beijing.

I'll just have to figure out if the M040s are actually going to fit on my desk or if I'll have to wait until I swap out my 2160p panels for a single 2160p ultrameme (whenever those begin to roll out).

Is that a PG279Q?

Are there any over the ear headphones that sound like the VE Monk+?

I fell in love with how they sound. So crisp and clear.

What size are your IsoAcoustics stands btw? I got the ISO-L8R155 or "medium" sized ones and these are the minimum you have to have for the M040s.

2160p ultrameme sounds tempting for everything else than gaymen.

Yes.

Are Rock Zircon a meme?
Mine broke after like a month.

>What size are your IsoAcoustics stands btw?
I have the L8R155 as well.
>2160p ultrameme sounds tempting for everything else than gaymen.
The only gaymen I do is CSGO once in a blue moon or some other degenerate shit when I get asked, but two 2160p displays are almost too much, I think I could just as easily get away with 1 1/2 monitor space with the more compact form of an ultrawide for desk space.

They were pushed pretty hard about a month or two ago and then disappeared except for the odd recommendation (likely from an owner who hasn't tried others) so I'd say yes.

You forgot:

Asking "Hey guys, what's your opinion on x?" is frowned upon.
Wireless is frowned upon.
Headset requests are frowned upon.

XD

Forgot image :(

I "downgraded" from my dual monitor setup to this one which matches in resolution to the larger display I previously had. I'm not missing the extra desktop space for one bit really. I got too accustomed to using virtual desktops in W10 on my laptop that it carried over to my dual monitor setup, leaving the second one mostly useless. Sometimes I found myself just using the smaller 1920x1080 alone with the 2560x1440 monitor tucked away.

This does what both of those monitors did but better. High refresh rate, lower input lag and much better color reproduction after calibrating. Also G-Sync™ and the menus are nice. Works for games, photo-editing and other media.. consumption. For photo editing I could do better but I'm not too serious about it so this ends up being a good "compromise".

>degenerate shit when I get asked
Peer pressure must be massive to make you play such things.

The OP is lacking.

>Asking "Hey guys, what's your opinion on x?" is frowned upon.
>Wireless is never as good as similarly priced wired.
>Headset requests are dumb.

Next time, make sure you include

>Asking "Hey guys, what's your opinion on x?" is frowned upon.
>Wireless is frowned upon.
>Headset requests are frowned upon.

Panasonic 120's they are ten usds, sadly they sound better than any earbuds I've ever put on. You have to try them, they are really good.

Next time, ask your mommy to cut your meat smaller.

Kill yourself samefag.

You don't have any real argument why wireless is bad.

>Peer pressure must be massive to make you play such things.
It's more a case of me not ever desiring to play it unless I have somebody to play it with, like this BF1 beta people keep pushing me to try.

I figure I should calibrate my PG279Q as well, what did you calibrate it to sRGB?

Doesn't it look washed out compared to racing mode which is a bit vibrant in nature?

I don't do any professional work but maybe I should just pick up one of those spyders to try it.

Enjoy your 128kb mp3 quality over wireless :^)

good enough for audio books and podcasts

Nice meme.

Funny how some faggots on this technology board don't embrace technology and hold on to old beliefs.

Why bother embracing a suboptimal technology? I bet you're the type of idiot that bought an oculus/vive/any other shitty proto-VR garbage.

Prove that it's sub-optimal.

Oh wait, you can't.

Your sources were blog type audiophile articles which have no real meaning.

Wireless sounds like shit and you can't prove me wrong :^)

Stupid normie!

Can't say I have much interest in trying out all new hype titles either and especially not by myself. BF1 is something where I'd likely just enjoy looking at visuals instead of playing and I doubt I can get it looking pretty and at playable frames with my GPU right now. My interest comes and goes. Actually BF1 should have top tier sound design. Might be a reason to test it...

sRGB yes and no, not really. In comparison the saturated screen modes look off once I've been accustomed to sRGB. Some companies offer calibration as a service(often cheaper than getting the tools
yourself) and you'll get pretty much there already by just copying calibrated settings and an ICC profile from tftcentral. Monitors don't show too much variation in manufacturing.

>and I doubt I can get it looking pretty and at playable frames with my GPU right now
I seem to go alright at 4K with the resolution scaling setting at 20% on my 390.

Though my 390 is overkill for the eroge I spend most of my 'gaming' time on.

My HD598's head band cushion and pads are coming off is this a common issue? I've had them for about 3 years.

Cheap bastard here
Got 3 options
KZ ATE
Moxpad X6
TAKSTAR INGPING H60

I should be fine then. I'm back on my GTX 780 ever since GTX 1080 crapped itself.

I've seen the pad velour material peeling off over the foam. Earpads in general are a part which wears out but couldn't tell you whether your case is normal or not.

beast headphones for £100 ish?

looking for closed backs if that's any help
