What did you even do
Bamping with machine name and bent rails. Received like this from FedEx
You are supposed to open it in front of them quickly while recording it.
Good luck.
have fun never getting any sort of compensation
Why the fuck would you buy this? It's from 2007.
It's cheap
It's a G5, just replace it with a toaster. Will be faster and probably run cooler.
There's gotta be a front panel replacement rr...right?
Does it even use SAS?
Yes
Whats the smallest room where I think about using surround 5.1?
Why does 1 drive appear three times in my boot order override, and if i change the top entry to either of the ubuntus, will it take me to the grub still?
wait is this the same server than OP's?
if so, you may need to check the status of those disks ASAP yo
Am I safe transporting my computer 50 miles by car on the freeway if it's in the original packing box but only GPU removed? I got a NH-U14s on my CPU and while it's held up fine just sitting here, I don't know how well it will do in the car.
I have an android, and Lightning just isn't working with i2p.
Every time I try to switch to it in general settings, I just get the same message, that i2p needs to be installed and running, and the asks if I would like to install it, even though it is already installed and running.
Even worse, whenever I say yes, it doesn't give me anything, just that the app or whatever wasn't found.
Also, setting the proxy to localhost and setting the port number to 4444 doesn't work very well in lightning, if at all.
No, completely unrelated, its pic related. Also is fast boot bios a meme, because everytime i turn it on, it disables my keyboard, and forces me into ubuntu
What kind of PC upkeep shit do my fellow idiots use? I use CCleaner, Malwarebytes, and AVG.
I have avira and malwarebytes
Malwarebytes and common sense.
I've only done one scan in about a full year, no viruses.
Just strap it down. would be a better place for this.
Or just looking up "how do I transport fragile materials" on google would be just as fine.
how well do updates work with cyanogen mod? I installed it on my first gen moto g but don't know how reliable it is to update.
EFI table bullshit?
First off, see:
wiki.cyanogenmod.org
Secondly, what exactly do you mean by reliable?
>Secondly, what exactly do you mean by reliable?
like is shit going to break if I use the updater vs installing from a zip image?
my nigga
Does the statement (false) && (false) evaluate to true?
No, but you should always do a backup of the most important files before doing any sort of system update. Even on PCs.
a=b=false
print(a && b) #prints false
print(!a && !b) #prints true
Wasn't 100% sure what you meant so I covered both cases for you.

Just collect the shipping insurance and buy a new one, problem solved.
I don't see any files that specifically say they are for updating, it's all just releases or nightlies here: download.cyanogenmod.org
Do I just flash any .zip that is newer than what I have over the existing system after doing a factory reset?
Do not do nightly updates. Chances are, you're not a developer.
Only do releases (snapshots are the same thing)
sup /sqt/
Does flashing a new rom (via recovery) remove:
>Xposed Framework
>Busybox
Because Ive heard that some xposed modules or alterations stay unless you completely reflash the device with factory image.
working with c/c++/asm. what is the best 64 bit debugger for windows?
Adwcleaner + Malwarebytes.
You do realize you can just uninstall xposed and thats it
Does anyone know of a decent UPS? Nothing too expensive it would be for a small server and home surveillance
>not using a server for gaming
what about changes in the build.prop made by the modules?

I decided to put my 3tb external to work and do some torrenting on it, because I heard this can be done.
So I installed transmission on the drive, loads alright, downloads fine, but then I get some error message about the drive no longer being mounted, and then when I restart the application it has to download the last 10% of all my files over again eventhough I have the whole thing? And then if I leave and come back it says its unmounted again but I can browse to it and everything is there?
I basically have no idea whats happening. I think I'll stick to internal drives but if you have any ideas lemme hear em.
I don't mean to start a debate, but is Apple losing its edge with normies?
I was watching the news today and they said that many people and apple fans were disappointed with the removal of the 3.5mm jack. This stuck out to me, because it is the first time that I saw such a criticism come from the non tech press.
they cant use their $850 apple headphones anymore.
They dont care about that, they are mad they dont get the oppurtunity to support apple by buying headphones.
Thats what they are mad about
Apple's market penetration is an American phenomenon - probably in part because they're an American company. Look anywhere else on the planet, europe, asia etc everyone is using Android. I think their die-hard fanbase is getting tired of shelling out $700+ for a phone that really doesn't do a whole lot more than the last one did.
My ISP's shitty maintenance has fucked my upload bandwidth so hard, I basically can't upload images. What are some ways I can use Imagemagick to compress the fuck out of my images without hugely distorting them, so I can still post them a little?
TL;DR: how make images small?
Old enterprise hardware can be a lot better for the price than new consumer hardware in some cases. Like 10GE NICs that use PCIE 2.0.
>The all new iPhone now with a slightly better CPU, slightly better camera, slightly better battery and slightly more water resistance
Apple is making a big deal out of the headphones things to cover up the fact their latest iPhone really doesn't offer anything revolutionary that you can't find on an Android a lot cheaper.
Don't buy Seagate until further notice. Their low quality has finally become a scandal. They're being sued.
>I don't mean to start a debate, but is Apple losing its edge with normies?
Not sure, but maybe. I think it's a matter of thinking of what else they could add to the phone that the majority of people would use. For easy common use for everyone, you already have entertainment available from multiple apps and sources as well as personal use such as Internet, cloud storage, and a camera to record whatever you want. Not saying it's not possible, but what other features could they add (no headphone port jokes, it's already obvious)? All I can see them doing is just adding a better battery and screen as the technology changes and advances. There's not much point to changing the interface either since it would only cause people to relearn how to do the same things again. I think they are just using the headphone port removal as a way to garner attention, but I'm just speculating.
What I find odd are a lot of the written articles talking about the headphone port removal. A fair amount of them are saying the removal was long overdue or "finally/at last/about time" and such. Not saying they are, but they almost feel paid off. I'm sure it's possible, but I really can't imagine anyone looking at their older device before the recent news and saying "man, if only it didn't have a 3.5mm headphone jack installed. It would be a REAL device then."
Why people say old motorola modems were botnet?
>Old enterprise hardware can be a lot better for the price than new consumer hardware in some cases.
...when it's not literally ancient garbage that belongs in the trash.
Firefox (Nightly) is automatically lowering the volume of foobar when I play a youtube video/webm
How do I disable this
So I have a GTX 960. Should I upgrade to 1060 or 1070? Is the performance difference between a 1060 and a 1070 worth the ~$200USD?
Thanks in advance.
Can anybody help me with understanding what matters when looking for a monitor?
I want to get a 25" or 27" 1080 monitor, but I'm also gonna play a bit of fps on it.
IPS vs LED? What's a "dynamic color ratio"? How much does it matter? Say one that has a dynamic color ratio of 10million:1 vs one with 12 or 30 million: 1?
Aren't ALL 'response time' figure a meme since they can't be below the monitor refresh rate, i.e. 60hz will ALWAYS have a 1/60 (~16ms) latency?
How much does the 'contrast ratio matter', since this value varies between 1000:1 to 5000:1 (and probably more).
The microcenter near my house has all the monitors priced pretty much exactly the same, but every one of them has something very different. All I want is good colors and no ghosting.
>25" or 27"
that's too big for 1080p, get 1440p or a smaller monitor.
>I'm also gonna play a bit of fps on it
144hz it is
if you have the money get an ips screen, if you don't, get a tn screen.
all else is irrelevant, just look up some reviews
My MOBO has two PCI E slots. Graphics card blocks the first one. Sound card is using the other. I want a new wireless card because current one broke, what do?
I need some recommendations for a projector to use with a laptop in my living room. I don't need it for games so input lag doesn't really matter and this is not for a proper home theater setup with a white screen and all, but I need one that projects well. I'm searching on Amazon and I don't really know what price range I should consider, let alone, which ones to consider in general. It's not that I'm looking to spend more money for no reason either, but I want to get my money's worth.
Does anyone familiar with projectors have any recommendations? Any specific features or specifications I should keep in mind? I see a lot of them priced $100 to $200 and I might be leaning towards those, but again, I'm not sure what I should consider.
USB or conventional PCI
i'm on leave in south korea and everyone uses apple products. they're glorified here just like in the states and they cost even more here
i bought a 2014 macbook pro non retina for 1.600.000won (in 2014) which is quite a bit more than i would have paid in the states
I have some computer a relative gave me to fix and it's behaving very strange
it seems to not post, but when I move the ram (there's only 1 stick) to a different slot it will boot correctly for a few times then it will randomly decide to stop posting again
when it is not posting, I've unplugged all sata and usb devices from power/the motherboard and it doesn't change anything
I ran a memtest on it after it decided to actually boot correctly and it passed with no errors
I've let the computer sit overnight with a flash video playing and it didn't crash or anything so I'm assuming the only thing that could be wrong at this point is the motherboard, I just want to get a second opinion before I pull the trigger on that
I've lurked quite a bit and it seems 23" is the largest size recommended for a 1080 res, but is 2" gonna be that big of a deal? Might as well get something slightly larger if not.
>144hz it is
Yeah but those cost like $300-400, the 1080 res ones at that.
Thanks though, I'll just get the cheapest one with good reviews.
My main internets not working. The third light from the top (it has a sattalite and an arrow pointing out) is blinking, while the two above it are solid, and sometimes it goes back to just the top one and the second one from the top (it has a sattalite and an arrow pointing in). What do?
srsly...
Call the ISP. If you're on an ADSL/2+ etc connection check your cables.
if you don't care about the dpi, go for 25 inch. just keep in mind that everything will be slightly bigger and slightly more blurry.
dell is a pretty good brand.
>agreed. It was fine when I mailed it to user, he must have dropped it while opening it.
>agreed. it was fine when we picked it up and the whole way to anons house. I heard a thud shortly after he closed the door, he mush have dropped it while opening it.
>agreed. I say the delivery guy give it to user in perfect condition while looking through the window this morning, btw when do I get paid?
>have 6 year old seagate 2tb drive that is filled with 1.8 tb of data I NEED but have no other drives I can stick the stuff on..

Wow they are? Noice.
WD Black is a safe bet. Back your shit up asap.

Yeah dont feed the meme
The majority of us arent mobile cucks
>WD Black is a safe bet.
I was thinking red since I don't access the files a whole lot, which is suppose to be more durable?
youre right, I dont NEED that much shit. I do WANT most of it though. And no, none if it is anime. About a few hundred gb of movies, but no weeb shit though.
>20 2tb
thats alot of 2 tb user, Im jelly
I want to get a 1TB SSD, but I know next to nothing about SSD technology. Can anyone give me a shortlist of good ~1TB SSDs for me to look into?
you dont need 1tb ssd's
get 60/120/256gb for your system and a 1/2/3/4tb platter for your data
Depends on the specific model, but
Tier 1: Samsung/Intel
Tier 2: Crucial/Sandisk
Tier 3: Pretty much everything else
Overall I would recommend the 850 evo
>Best android distro?
Stuck in a boot loop thought I'd take the opportunity to switch from stock.
Device is an Xperia tablet Z and it was starting to struggle with 5.1.1, will something like cyanogen take up less resources?
>>>/xda/
Evo 850 pro. It'll practically never die. I reckon the 1tb ssd will be used frequently for large writes and such (e.g. torrenting etc.), and even though the evo 850 can endure that just fine, it's best to just get the 850 pro and forget ever worrying about the health of your ssd ever again.
Samsung are great, if you like dataloss.

That was 6 years ago. They have gone seriously downhill in recent years. Do not buy their new HDDs.
I can access websites just fine via Wifi, but the Ethernet connection is borked. It worked until I shut down the pc yesterday.
> play some video games on Windows

I didn't update anything. I tried rebooting the pc and the router, dis- and reconnecting to no avail. What is going on?
>ssd will be used frequently for large writes
If anything will burn out an SSD like a match, it's that. Have you considered a large ramdisk instead?
nvm I solved it
Router randomly decided to change the internet access filter policy from manually set "unlimited" to "standard" which doesn't have internet access.

Stop shilling that thing. They haven't been around long enough to claim they last for shit.
The 850 has been out for 2 years, how much longer are we supposed to wait before buying something?
If I partition a 60GB SSD with a single 20GB partition, will the wear leveling algorithm make use of the allocated space, extending the life of the drive?
how to make fish my default shell??????
...
Review sites have performed a ton of different benchmarks to showcase the longevity of the 850pro. The 840pro sustained 2.1PB of written data before dying. That's slightly more than 80gb of writes per day for 7 years.
The 850pro is even better. Seriously, why don't you let go of your preconceptions and inner-convictions and read an article or two.
The firmware issue is a different matter entirely though.
I'm currently using an 80gb Barracuda 7200.9 with literally over 40,000 hours of powered on time and it's working just fine. It has one uncorrectable sector and one pending sector but otherwise seems to be operating without a hiccup. I'm switching to an SSD soon anyways but I've been using this shit as a boot drive for a little over a decade IIRC and it hasn't given me any issues whatsoever. Don't ask why I'm still using it, it's completely arbitrary at this point. The rest of my PC is a 4670k and 980 Ti so it's not like the build is old.
man chsh
Seagate went to shit after the thai floods a couple of years ago. Apparently they bought whatever they could get their hands on and long story short they're all shit. Drives manufactured in 2015 are on par with the failure rate of WD however.
Got some chink malware from a program that decided to go rogue after no problems with it for over a year.
Is this service safe to delete?
What should I do?
Boy am I glad all of my current seagate drives are pre-flood then. 1 of my WD drives is pre-flood as well, but I have a 1TB post flood caviar blue in my bedside rig. I need to replace it, as it has one bad sector and a couple iffy sectors that it has been flip flopping on for some time now.
