If you think about it, the headphone jack is mechanical and therefore a point of failure, making it external isn't a horrible idea
If the adapter is damaged, you get a new adapter. If the phone's headphone jack gets damaged, you need a new phone.
>the headphone jack is mechanical and therefore a point of failure
And the USB connector is not?
> If you think about it, the headphone jack is mechanical
What did he mean by this?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
THEY ACTUALLY DID IT HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH
That feel when you realize it will sell even more than usual.
I KNOW
I KNOW I'VE LET YOU DOWN
...
Its literally a band of metal that electricity goes through its not mechanical you retard

I'VE BEEN A FOOL TO MYSELF
...
>39 dollar earbuds
>39 dollar adapter

Apple in ANY year LUL
Profiting when people break the cords. GUESS I NEED A NEW LIGHTNING CORD (or whatever the hell it's called)! OFF TO THE APPLE STORE!
Are you guys seriously going to argue that physical connectors are not mechanical devices?
They have springs and shit to keep the male connector secured, they are very clearly mechanical
the lightning connector is easier to disconnect than a headphone, they're frankly more robust
>remove a feature for aesthetics
>have to include this fucking adapter with horrible aesthetics anyway
The point at the end just clicks into a hole its about as mechanical as the eraser on a pencil
