I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. I'm browsing from a firefox window that Ubuntu gave me when I clicked on "learn more" on one of those slideshows when you're installing an OS, and the site loaded for me in 2 seconds. It's probably your internet or your torrent client that is causing you grief.

Does Elemenetary offer anything that you can't find in the official MATE spin of Ubuntu, which can be configured to use an OSX-style dock with a flip of a switch, and now has a HUD-like search function built in?

I'm not the one with issues ("mobile site lags while scrolling"), I'm just pointing out why it's an issue.

The site loads 5 MB of data, images that are basically photos as PNG. Not only that, also tons of JavaScript. It's not a surprise that weaker computers (such as cheap mobile phones) will struggle when scrolling on that site.And that is just horrible web design. But I don't blame them in particular, it's something that unfortunately is the norm these days.
