Best music players

convince me this isn't the best ipod to date

The iPhone 7

the shuffle is cuter

feel tha wheel

> It has a headphone jack

I think this is better because to scroll through your library effectively, you need a tall aspect ratio. I use this sucker in my car inside a leather case. Planning to get a magnetic holder that hooks on to your AC vent.

Forgot pic related

I had one of these and I concur. It was great until some fuck "lost" it when it was playing through speakers at a barbecue

I use mine to work out.

>touch based
>best
stop with the memes

PowerAmp is better iCuckold

Step aside.

fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you

>not using the based clip+ with 128gb microsd

my clip doesnt recognize any larger micro sd cards, anything larger then 16 and only a small portion of the tracks show on the device, why is that?

you need to install rockbox on it

obligatory

I miss this version

Cant find it under 60, need link anoon

obviously, even with rockbox it doesnt read them.

Is the best ipod ever. I had one but i forgot it on the roof of my car...

>tfw discontinued
>tfw no longer that sweet unbeatable price:performace ratio
What the fuck are we supposed to use now?

This was perfect for everything.

Any media player you guys would recommend that is the same size or roughly so as the iPod Touch 2nd Gen? Sansa Clip looks fucking tiny.

Touch screen preferred.

> "picture viewer"

>Touch screen preferred.
you're memeing right?

...

Close. iPod touch 64gb with wolfson DAC.

6 years later and going strong and no lag.

>touchscreen
>only 64GB
no

>make one file change to the microsd
>Stare at "Refreshing Media" for 5 minutes

No, I'm not. Pretty sure it's faster to hold my finger at the bottom of a screen to go through thousands of songs than it is to scroll forever on a clickwheel. Maybe not, I haven't used a clickwheel since around 2007 so I can't fully recall. Normal buttons are good too I guess, especially for when I have to drive.

Maybe 4 years ago, but prices are way too high now...

>using stock firmware

what are you fucking stupid?

this is correct

Overpriced piece of shit manufactured by exploited workers for neo-colonialist Apple corporation. I bought a mp3 player with the same functionality even better features than ipods, and it was also made in China too, but the company that made my mp3 player is not ran by greedy joos, so mine only cost me $2.

If you keep rolling the clickwheel, it eventually speeds up scrolling to where it's jumping letter to letter. Though with the touch, you can swipe down the edge of the screen to jump directly to first letters.

got u covered m8

Fiio M3

Matchbox size, supports Flac, 8gb internal expandable to 64, 24h battery life, sound quality better than any ishit you can throw at it (assuming you have somewhat decent headphones) all at $50.

/Thread

>doesn't read any format that isn't mp3
absolute shit

But I'm not a pleb and know how to convert any format to mp3. Also, you're a slave to iTunes and you can only have it one computer, you're software dependent. My mp3 player isn't bound even by Linux, Windows, or OSX operating systems, I can use it any one of them with no problem with transferring files.

Preferred the Nano with the wheel, because the touch one was too small for my hands and barely registered presses.

The original iPod Mini was the greatest of all times though

It's just that MP3 has shit quality at lower bitrates that sound good with AAC or Opus, so it sucks for something with limited storage.

"everybody know, they for girls"

i would kill for one of these, no idea how you would control it but who cares.

Does it even squirt?

Bought a Zune (don't remember which one), used it for 2 months, loved it. Then it bricked and I never got it fixed because I smuggled it from the US.

Sad times

Anyone else miss this form factor? Does anything like it exist today with good SQ and storage?

Sony's B series Walkman, and those solid color Transcend MP3 players, their design is retained from the first model back in 2010 but they manufacture new batches every year

Does someone here own a XDuoo X3?

is there a battery seller for this? mine doesn't boot.

Everyone forgetting these bad boys.

Creative are god tier.

Are there any decent Bluetooth clip-on players with 32 gigs or more?

It does play AAC though.

I definitely miss this form factor. Imagine something like this, but thinner, and with 128gb of space. I'd be in heaven. I'd just roam around the city for hours and listen to music in pure bliss.

>he didn't buy like 4 of them years ago just in case

Zen M for me. 6 years later and still going strong (knock on wood).

anal insertion.

>1 deep insertion: turn on
>1 fast insertion: play
>2 fast insertions: stop
>insert and rotate clockwise/counterclockwise: volume up and down

I haven't figured out how to change songs yet but boy am I enjoying figuring it out

The Vision M was my first one mate. I lost it at school and I replaced it with the X-fi. I miss the vision M so much though. It was a beast. I remember just sitting up late watching family guy and shit on it all hours of the night. I miss it.

That sucks bro, sorry for your loss. The touchpad started getting a little screwy about 2 years ago, and it's got some scratches, but other than that it works like a charm. It still has features that other brands tend to overlook.

sold mine on ebay, it still gets some pretty good scratch

I have a Zune that still works, but the pin connectors where you're supposed to hook the cord got fucked up. Somehow it still charges, but I can't sync new shit to it. Any advice?

This one was my fav.

Best one ever, if the storage was upgradeable it'd be perfection.

This little fucker felt so comfy with that physical clicky wheel. However, it broke after a year so I bought another one, which also broke after a year. Dunno if they were so shitty or I was so unlucky but I didn't buy another because they were phased out by those touch shit fuze+.

Now that my clip also got bricked and I'm too lazy to fix it I found out that searching for songs by typing with a physical keyboard is the comfiest. Too bad android players assume that physical keyboards don't exist anymore and thus don't use it to the fullest and BB10 ones are simply poorly featured.

Hello there

Superb build quality mate. Loved the one I use to have.

I like the 5th generation one. Still have it, still use it.

Yeah 5th gen was nice too but the addition of a camera is really stupid imo, hated the trend that everything had to have a camera just for the heck of it.

>tfw got my brand new for 22USD back when they were still on the market
Why did Sanshit have to discontinue their best product? All their other players are garbage

>Why did Sanshit have to discontinue their best product?
The SoC's no longer in production.

>The SoC's no longer in production.
Huh. Is it not worth throwing in a new board into the same chassis?

Apparently not.

to be fair pmps don't really have that much of a mainstream market anymore

your phone

Eat shit and die.

No gapless playback, poor tag organization, 4000 file limit. That's what killed it for me.

You're a retard. Don't ever reply to my posts.

keep carrying 20 different devices to do things that your phone can do.

>#
>the guy that whines about people's superior choices in hardware is also a cancerous newfaggot meme-spouting shitstain
What a surprise.

#56534306
not gonna give a (you) to a retard, i don't want to feel dirty

The Zune HD was a sexy beast when it hit the market. Would buy one now, but they're fucking expensive on eBay.

>being this new

Why would i want to load my phone with music? That's not an efficient use of space for a phone.
Besides, every single media player app on every phone has some sort of turnoff to it.

pls not to reply to #-posters, just hide post and let them fade into obscurity

#56534344
>storage being an issue in 2016
i guess since you want to use a mp3 player you're also rocking a nokia 3310 and it can only store 8 missed calls lmbo

phones are uncomfortably big compared to smaller music players

#56534556
right, so lets carry a phone AND a music player. lets also unplug headphones from the player and plug them into the phone every time you want to watch a video on your phone, actually no lets carry 2 pairs of headphones, you're a genius man.

I have a Fiio X3ii. The screen is garbage, managing playlists was a pain in the ass until I found a reliable way (Foobar2000 + Wingrep) and the firmware can be buggy (battery indicator is worthless as three stars could mean 10 minutes or five hours of playback left) but I just love it. I really like how it doubles as a PC DAC/amp combo so I can bypass my shitty laptop soundcard.
Hardware-wise it feels great though. Clicky wheel like the old iPods, sturdy and clicky buttons and two outputs. Also, memory card slot.

yeah Zunes were fucking awesome. iirc though they were never able to attract consumers away from Apple iPods in large enough volumes. Another objectively better product killed off because people refuse to look at anything without a fruit logo on the back.

>everybody carries their phone whenever they're carrying their PMP
>everybody uses the phone for watching videos
I haven't plugged headphones into my phone one time since I got it over a year ago

I have two pockets nigga
What kind of gay ass pants you wear?

Throw and ssd in there and you are right. Still use mine to this day but I've been favouring my s7 lately. So much less to carry.

Its weird that I own a couple of hi fi daps and I still go back to my 160gb classic.

Apple had something right and its a shame they never added ssd or bigger battery to the lineup.

The least they could have done was keep it in production for custom orders only as I would pay a good price for 256gb storage ipod with flac compatibility.

yes I know you can do the same thing in a diy and I plan on doing it when my hard drive dies.

I have the same problem, shit. Doesnt accept 32 or 64gb cards.

I end up just having a small playlist for gym and that's it ...

Do people really use this piece of shit?

Navigating through that much music with that GUI and control is an absolutely fucking horrid experience. There's no point in filling a device that large if finding what you want to listen to is that difficult. Smartphone w/ local storage and then Subsonic for my entire library is so, so, so much better.

ipod shuffle 3g

>want to hear a specific song
>can't

i had one of these for running, it was perfect for putting a bunch of trance mixes on shuffle

I've got to disagree.

THIS THING SAVED APPLE IN 2001 AND BEFORE
>It has a Jack
