Released almost 2 years ago, it is still plagued by bugs and crashes more frequently than a fucking alpha software. This is considered "stable" by its terrible, incompetent developers

Sounds like you're using an old version, frequent bugs and crashes stopped over a year ago.

it was hoped that this fall lubuntu ship with it, or at least ships alternative ISO along the regular release, so it must be pretty close to being acceptable for shipping
LXQt is also a merge of whole LXDE and Razor-qt teams... so hope is that it wont be like dying and stagnating xfce
KDE5 is fine, and gets better with every update.

At some point in the past I thought KDE was cool, but I gave up on it after all the fuckups. Now I am on xfce and openbox, and I am happy as fck.
It reached final version like winamp. Can't improve perfection.
