deluge

>htop

are all there

>exa (remplace ls)
ls is too core and acceptable, looking at its github I dont see much benefits
github.com/ogham/exa

>deepin-terminal
will check out

>i3-gaps / i3status
recommend WM?
i3blocks is better

>deluge
checked it out, decided to go for qbittorent and transition

exa is just design benefit (and i like "supporting" Rust lang)

>decided to go for qbittorrent
Botnet

Bomi isn't abandonware? :|

I recommend sxhkd instead of xbindkeys. Its configuration syntax is much easier.

Also rtorrent as a torrent client for people who like it simple. It has a nice and minimalistic ncurses interface but there are several gui web-interfaces available.

And youtube-dl, a terminal tool to download youtube videos. It can do pretty much everything you'll need, even download all the videos in a playlist whose title matches a regex.

hopefully
guy resurfaced little and made some tiny commit
twitter.com/bomi_player

>sxhkd
will check out

>rtorrent
used to be there
people who look for terminal based torrent client will find it fast
also its kinda not that simple if you are interested in simple queue

>youtube-dl
hmm, probably will add as its really valuable tool
tmux will probably be its casualty
most people benefiting from the pic have no idea what it does and what multiplexer is and dont need it

Rvxt-unicode is a good terminal, especially if you're on a non-US keyboard.

Official request: replace htop with glances
Reason: it's cooler

urxvt need to be added to the list of terminal emulators

>audacity/lmms
Put ardour on there, it's the flag ship audio program for linux.

>shitty apps guy
>such bait

its very popular and it was there for some time
but out of the box its pretty meh and needs some tinkering in its config file to be interesting
and after that its juts regular terminal
no idea what features should be interesting that all of others dont have

>glances
had a look and installed it
lots of python dependencies
does not seem better at first glance
could not kill process which seems to not be done yet
github.com/nicolargo/glances/issues/476

might be cool but its definitely not at htop level yet

>Put ardour on there, it's the flag ship audio program for linux.
will probably do, no idea in that sphere, and most people dont recommend there nothing

Why remove mpd?
My mpd+mpc setup is good and with i3 keybindings it's all I need to play music.
I added npmcpp to have a ncurse interface but I'm not using it much

decided to abandon terminal alternatives to regular daily used programs like audio players or email clients, browser,...
rather put there interesting and useful less known programs that lack decent popular front end

experienced linux users already know about mpd and either use it or not
new users looking at the pic are unlikely to go for it
felt like space could be used better

also you might be interested in mopidy, was mentioned in the past as better alternative to mpd

>Lastpass
>Recommending a service that's been breached twice.
I was lucky to delete my account right before the first breach.

here : wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/List_of_applications
and people should just try and use whatever they like

So you use keepass now I assume? With what browser integration addon?

would you be surprised that you would not find quite a few applications from the picture on the list?

not him but pass and passff is perfect

huh, first time I am hearing about pass
seems interesting

bump for americans

I installed bomi and nomacs because of this image.
did I Get memed?

installed right now, or long ago?

nomacs is pretty much the best opensource casual image browser once you go through settings and put shit the way you like and when you check out the tool bar stuff and right click on image stuff, show panels you like...

bomi is amazing video player, only shortcoming is that development stands on one guy, and it slowed down to crawl and it wont compile on some distros with newer Qt
had to switch from it to mpv which does not bother with gui

>No Qutebrowser under browsers
>No Mutt anywhere on the guide
>No rTorrent anywhere on the guide
>JDownloader instead of uGet/aria2
>No feh under media
>Clementine is listed as comfy, but no QuodLibet anywhere in sight
>Krita installs HEAPS of KDE garbage when you install it

>No Qutebrowser under browsers
of course, its edge case software for hardcore keyboard monkeys
lacking addons...

>No Mutt anywhere on the guide
was, now its gone
doubt many people actually made use of it and though it would be great idea to manage their emails in terminal

>No rTorrent anywhere on the guide
same as above, was there, is gone
required spending time with manuals and config files just for basic use
and even for queue it needed rutorrent, so why even have there inferior things...

>JDownloader instead of uGet/aria2
last time I checked jdownloader alternatives they were shit, could not download from most of the host sites, could not resolve captchas
people shit on jdownloader cause java and memory, but it works reliably

>No feh under media
too simple, hell even for category simple its too simple

>no QuodLibet anywhere in sight
could not even get it to scan my library and play something

>Krita installs HEAPS of KDE garbage when you install it
so dont install krita, or realize its not garbage if its needed

>mfw people are pointed to the wiki even though it's literally never fucking updated
at least we can put this shit up but goddamn it's like trolling now with the shit you see on the wiki

I am not op but if you are unhappy with the picture give constructive feedback please.Or make a new one.
