Why aren't you using an APU yet?

but i am user.

stop shilling for amd :^)

cause I'm poor

Soon

because that other thread last week implied I should be using a pentium 4 so I threw out my i5 and bought a pentium 4.

should I buy an APU?

do APUs crossfire with video cards for extra performance yet? otherwise whats the point?

enjoy you're macrostutter

Yeah but its referred to as
"Dual graphics"

oh nice. didnt know they finally did this. does it work well?

>does it work well?

I have no idea

this site did some testing and it actually seems to work well. they used a lower end apu and video card though.

i wonder if zen apus + vega dual graphics will be a big thing. sounds exciting.

Yes it does user! And even a higher end apu with hbm would be very, exciting!

APUs let you play 6 year old games on low.
The bottleneck is the iGPU that is barely faster than a GeForce 8800GT from 2007.

The gpu used on APU's is usually an underpowered version of AMD's graphics cards. AMD managed to achieve this because of the way they design their processor cores which leaves a ton of die space to be able to put a full blown GPU in there.

It's not recommended because in the end you get a weaker process, and its performance can be beat easily by just getting a discrete processor+gpu combo. If you're on a tight budget though then it's worth considering.

...

>I can't afford discrete graphics
>So I think i'm better than you
stay poor user

>AMD APU
>bottleneck is the GPU
no its the shitty bulldozer cpu that is the bottleneck

Retard, AMD real meaning is
Advanced Micro Devices.
Advanced than intel

I'm waiting for AM4 APUs before I jump back in

Honestly for gayming you're better off with something like a i3 6100. Twice as high single core performance than the best AMD CPUs.

it's about 50% faster per core, + Hyperthreading puts it ahead of an APU, but an i3 would still lose to an FX 8 core in multi-threaded performance

also the iGPU on the APU is of course stronger so it can actually run some demanding games, AM4 APUs with DDR4 shouldn't have any real competition from intel

The CPU isn't that weak.

-> loo

cuz apus are shite

A10 7800 4 cpu cores 8 graphic cores 3.5
8 g ram
multiburner, multicard reader, usb3 holes everywhere.
keyboard
mouse
$399 Canadian.
Now watch me shitpost.

That's somewhat better comparison. i3 = better single threaded performance, APOO = better overall benchmark performance as it has more cores
