AMD is so bad

Why is AMD such a bad company? Everything they make seems to be far inferior to Intel and Nvidia.

Pajeet company that outsourced work to China & India

they poor

They have very little money for R&D.

There has to be the lesser of the two evils. Intel and nvidia obviously fill the role of the more evil choice.

well a 15w mobile soc is beating as projected everything on its perf range...

i guess that conclude that amd is shit

There has to be a competitor.
Unless Intel broke off its plants into sepperated companies.

They spent all of their money on Jim Keller's salary. If Zen doesn't perform spectacularly AMD is fucked.

Its probably running in 35w mode there.
cTDP.

That isn't how businesses work. AMD's Zen core arch only needs to be good enough for their enterprise Opterons to be attractive at the right price point.
Seeing as how they already got two contracts to build super computers for some Chinese firms, and build a semi-custom HPC chip, they probably have something good enough.

Its exactly what AMD said it would be. Zen is a 40% IPC uplift over Excavator with the same clock scaling.
That isn't Haswell levels of performance per clock on average, thats easy to see looking at Anandtech's bench tool. But its somewhat competitive in most integer bound workloads, and at appropriate power levels that is decent enough to win market share.
5.5w~ per core at 2.5ghz.

its the mobile cpu not the desktop one.....

They have less money to run the entire company than Intel spends on bribing OEMs and retailers to make sure things stay that way.

No shit, moron.
All 15w SKUs of Carrizo and Bristol ridge are configurable in either 15w or 35w mode. Maximum cTDP for the chips is 42w.

Why even post when you literally don't know a single thing about the part in question?

>decent enough

This describes everything from AMD. Everything is so meh. Nothing to make you actually want to buy them over Intel and Nvidia.

Comparative to either of those companies, AMD's R&D is stretched a hell of a lot thinner. Its a miracle they do as well as they do with how little they're spending, and still developing new IP.

Summit Ridge is looking at offering somewhere around 2x the throughput of an FX 8350 in integer ops while doing somewhat better in FPU ops as well, in a 95w envelope.
It'll do pretty good in some metrics, but not tackle intel's latest on average. For the little under dog company that something. They need a serious influx of cash if thats ever really going to change in the future.

AMD has been exclusively hiring Indians and Chinese on H1B visas and have been investing more into marketing (and still haven't fired the alcoholic, bald hack roy taylor) rather than R&D.

>yet another anti-AMD shitposting thread

>it's shitposting if it doesn't fit my AMD fanboy narrative

shill

Why don't people just buy what suit them ?

I want to like amd, but their products are just so... Not great. They're not bad, just not good either.

At least the 480 is doing slightly better than the 1060 in some benchmarks.

amd these days suits fanboys only. intel is often cheaper, faster, and more energy efficient. nvidia too.

I wonder who could be behind that post.
