If you don't want your OS to be a hobby, windows is the way to go.

you're in for a big surprise with linnex

>I can't install Windows
>That means Linux will be right up my alley!

been using linux for a little under a year on my laptops. this automatic update's been going for nearly an hour and i have shit to do on my desktop

your HDD is probably dying

try setting it upright

Ditch winPOO get Linux master race

this pc came installed with windows when i was in 8th grade, so 8 years ago

>8 year old PC
>why isn't it working perfectly
>lets install something with even less support!

Just dual boot you tremendous boy molesting fruit. Unless of course you want to spend twice as much on hardware to force it to run in WINE. The alternative is to play whatever geimus get ported and end up not playing anymore because almost nothing good ever gets ported.

okay...? Still looks like it's on its side to me...

do you legitimately work for microsoft, or do you do it for free? because ive literally never had a problem with linux on any machine ive used it on

do you work for FSF or something?

Not having problems with Linux means you're not using it right

I've never had a problem with windows on any machine I used it on

3rd failed update cycle and i have work to do

say bye bye to windows Sup Forums

Come on nigga, there's a reason every forum about a distro is 98% tech support.

>Can't install Windows 10
>Thinks Linux will be no problem

Have fun !!! Let us know how it goes on your blog

i installed it on my new thinkpad yesterday, and i doubt i will bc i wont encounter any problems from shitty zero-option install software

>fell for the lenovo meme

lol so you just blindly follow any of the garbage people spout here, eh?

Windows either works, or it doesn't. It's not as well documented as linux and unix and doesn't throw understandable errors. Microsoft probably doesn't want it to be too easy for the average user to steal the market advantage away from trained sysadmins. They DO sell support. Even then, it's a bug more often than a user fixable error.

if linux doesn't work, you can either fix it, or find out why it's unfixable for the average user (usually hardware support instead of a software bug).

i bet this fucking gaylord thinks specs on a laptop matter

>hurr where its vidya card for playin LoL

Not specs, but build quality sure matters. And that took a huge dump once IBM sold the brand

I have three thinkpads. One is an IBM 365XD my dad gave me when I was 12, a used T40 i use as a low-cost-high-power raspi alternative ($20, needed HDD), and a lelnovo T410.

Guess which one has less flex, more reliable hinges and connections, ports that always worked on the first try, and durability shit like a roll cage and higher quality plastic

hint: not the IBM ones

and then it all went down the toilet around the time lelnovo switched to 16:9 panels across the whole lineup

you cant even take a fucking picture properly what makes you think you can use something more sophisticated like an operating system?

my T430 is sturdy as a brick house

Or ubuntu. My pc illiterate father and cousin use it with no problems

There is a recent-ish (last 12 months) update that does this if Secure Boot is enabled, especially on VM's and IBM PC's.

Thanks for proving his point

If you are a normie who only uses his PC to check E-mails and for shopping on ebay and amazon - Linux is actually better and more easy to use than Windows.

If you actually want to do something else, you better get used to searching the web for obscure pieces of information on how to get this shit done on Linux.

like what? give me an example
