Really bored of traditional smartphones.
Help me buy my next phone by giving suggestions of gimmicky phones or just phones that look different
Gimmicky smartphones
...
bumpin.
thoughts guys?
...
just glue your iphone to an iron Wesley
>2016
>wanting anything that's not glass slab
you're too late, user
BB Priv, maybe.

wut?
...
it looks great, kindof expensive though
...
...
cool, thanks for contriboot
Did I mention the Vertu starts at € 8.400?
But you can buy a € 18.500 version if you want to show off.
I actually kind of want this one
God dammit I want a smart phone like that! I likes my T9 and having something that folds to protect its own screen is excellent! Not to mention they don't feel like a plywood panel in my front pocket!
Samsung W2016 or equivalent
buy Kyocera waterproof and hiker's smartphone from Japan.
kyocera.co.jp
latest one is Android 6.0 only though
want this. where can i buy??
It's model is w879 from Samsung. Available only on the Asian side of the world at the moment but I would buy one in a heartbeat if they were state side!
Used to have the Verizon Juke. Strangest pgone I ever had.
> pgone
Fuck me.
i remebmer that phone, looks nice
...
but why is it so ugly?
welectronics.com
Technically a mobile phone - opis-tech.com
It has a little contacts book compartment! - johnsphones.com
Holy shit!? $1k?! You must be shitting me! And it's pre-order only? God damn prices like that are more expensive than the latest S series from Samsung! Still want one nonetheless
that is pretty sexy desu
Motorola Aura. I don't know how it works but I love the look of it.
texting was a nightmare... also i remember them not being so durable.
I'm dumb and forgot OP asked for smartphones so here's the closest thing to a smartphone I have in my interesting phones folder.
Just get any Samsung phone, they're full to the brim of gimmicks that will ultimately result in less productivity and more lag
Jesus dude too real.
Just got one and it's amazing
I would go into the trouble of getting it but it doesn't work with 4G where I live. Still thinking about getting it because it's cheaper by the minute and I fucking love the design, size and screens.
dump your interesting phone folder, at least dump the newest you have there.
LG g flex 2, I have one my self, the gimmick is pretty nice imo.
This seems like it would eventually get snapped.
nah, its fairly sturdy, not invincible or anything, but at least as good as most other phones, though the "self healing" back or whatever they call it is a total meme.
I always wanted one, but retards at Blackberry basically killed the BB10. I will stick with my Z10 until it dies.
get an xperia play. (psp+phone)
Pretty fun. I had the first gen model and while it didn't last I loved the thing.
i mean its gimmcky but its high class stuff, honestly if i was a rich top guy i would love one. Talk to my butler live on my vertu smart phone.
time stamp just for fun?
>bb10 will never be entirely open source
what a waste
why? where do you live?
Super gimmicky but I love the old school look
...
The review I read was brutal. I'd wait. Also thermal IR resolution is the pits, next generation is getting a lot better.
Then again I think the next gen. phones will have to have multi spectral cameras in order to provide something better than we have now.
Even near IR (700 - 1000 nm) would be a major advantage.
Are there flipphones avaible in western world with android 5+?
>that iphone concept
LMAOing at chinks thinking Apple would be innovative in any (positive) way.
wut
i just found this surfing youtube
My dad actually had that, he loved it and hated when we moved him to a smart phone.
The intended customer is a wealthy Chinese businessman, what did you expect?
i had an old hydro, it dropped in my attic
What is this phone
>waterproof phones
would be nice if it also didn't mean you can't take the back off without a heatgun. That poor battery.
What is an image search retard..
Now that's my kinda phone!
I'm not the only one late to the BBOS10 party then.
I'm not late, I switched from a Q10
thoughts on going back to an old school flip phone?
if you have any need for texting at all, don't do it. but if you truly only use calling, it's a much better experience than a smartphone
Flip Phone + Laptop/Netbook with good battery life + Mobile Broadband is an ideal set up.
yeah i'd really miss the texting and navigation tools. but i'm on my computer so much and it sucks to be tied to a phone when i'm not
>5 hours late
Its a phone from a shitty anime
>buying a phone for the sake of looking different but giving up practical functionality.
alright
>chinks
Millions of white teenagers and elderly would fall for it too and you know it
what's a good smartphone to take creepshots in the gym locker rooms?
>LMAOing at ... thinking Apple would be innovative in any (positive) way.
Is this satire?
any galaxy s/note with the s-view flip cover
I had LGs Android flipphone for a short while. I don't recommend it, it's a pain to use.
This is my favourite designed smartphone on the market today. It seems BB are the only company with the balls to "think different" if you will.
Shame they're not making handsets any more, because Apple are on the slide and people will be looking for alternatives.
>$300
>android app support
>sdcard slot
should i get one?
One drop from waist height and your screen is shattered.
Typical chink philosophy. As long as it "impresses" people on first sight, that is all that matters, regardless of whether the software is a piece of shit or it falls apart after 2 months.
any android, you just need the spycam OS app senpai
dont think iits avail for iOS
im gonna get one, even thiough its a dead platform, idc
>He thinks Juiz is better than Google Assistant
Always wanted one of this fml
My brother had one of those. It was pretty slick
>>waterproof phones
>would be nice if it also didn't mean you can't take the back off without a heatgun
I don't even. You do know that waterproof electronics with removable batteries have existed for decades now, don't you? There have even been waterproof smartphones with removable batteries like the Casio G'zOne Commando. How fucking new to ruggedized electronic devices are you fuckers that I regularly hear this shit on Sup Forums?
Fx0 flashed with Android
>translucent casing
Holy shit, if that was available in blue, it would be Y2K as fuck.
>Juiz doesn't cater to any faggot with internet.
Call me when you can buy hellfire missiles instantly via Google assistant without da government knowing.
>flawless intuitive OS
>great physical keyboard
>can scroll with the keyboard without touching the screen
>big 1:1 screen ideal for reading text
>all this gets abandoned because normies need their fart apps
Normies need to be euthanized.
>As long as it "impresses" people on first sight, that is all that matters
Kinda very much like Apple then?
Just my opinion, but I highly disliked this design as Ive owned a G4 and it incorporated the same element.
I use my phone on my desk and trying to use shit like the calculator drove me insane. Flat phones are ideal for me.
I'd buy that. I want one custom made with carbon fibre and titanium.
>I'd buy that. I want one custom made with carbon fibre and titanium.
Coming right up sir. That will be $26,999.
i only they would produce one with lte band 20 it would be the perfect phone
99% of it is flip phone novelty stuff but here's one I would actually love to have. The Motorola Photon Q. The last proper QWERTY phone that runs Android.
This is what I've been wanting to get for a long time, but they're highly prized and very expensive used.
Get a Droid 4
Even when it's outdated as fuck, it has god tier keyboard and even has unofficial Android Marshmallow
>Looks basically the same
>Has pretty much the same specs
>But is sold for sensible prices on eBay
Thanks for the tip. I may get my precious QWERTY keyboard after all.
are those comfortable to hold with the square shape? do you need two hands? does the glossy plastic get finger prints?
You can hold it one handed but most of the time you'll be using two. Holding it sideways is easier so for things like browsing web pages you can still use it one handed with ease. The glass collects finger prints but it comes out of my pocket looking like new
I remember that phone. I had a freind that had it.
Sony phones starting from the Z series were waterproofed by using an adhesive that acts as a sealant. My Z1c lost waterproofing because it ran hot one summer day and shifted the sealant around. My Xperia active is protected differently, and is also immune to wrenches and SUVs
>Sony phones starting from the Z series were waterproofed by using an adhesive that acts as a sealant
What ever happened to using a fucking gasket?
Best phone I ever had.
Still works.
this. how hard can it be to put a rectangular piece of rubber under the back case?
