Agree completely, dumb design that is used give the notification space the illusion of functionality and cover up the fact that there aren't actually any customisation options beyond a theme and where to place items on your activity bar.
Solus is a fine OS at it's core but it needs a strong community who will actually work on it and another year before it's ready it for serious use imo.

the arch wiki is shit. Whenever an arch user have a problem then nobody helps and just say "look in the wiki" and nobody can find anything in the wiki that is helpful for all the exotic problems that arch users get. It's a terrible wiki that isn't even useful for even installing Arch. What do you do if your wifi don't work after following the instructions? The wiki have no answers for that, what if neither the wifi or the ethernet work? well.. Tough shit, nowhere does it say what driver to get or how to install it. and so on. It's a terrible wiki when you have such a broken OS like Arch that breaks when you look at it the wrong way.
It's an experimental tech support emulator with all sorts of strange errors that have no solutions online and require you to read tons of documentation because the wiki is so shit. I can't believe I endured it for a year when I just wanted a functioning desktop. The shit people go through for nerd cred and to impress neets online.
