Are they actually selling live systems for 25$?
Man ill set up my own business
...
>$50 xtra pc turbo
>doubles the speed and storage
they are literally selling a USB2.0 baseline model
Thats quite a good way to get money from tech illiterates
Top kek
OP, are you just pretending to be stupid?
>2016
>not blocking ads
that's fucking retail margins too
what's the bulk price I wonder
If you bulk order them they'll be even cheaper and you can get them with your own wank logo
fucking lxde
now that you notice it
I was browsing using edge, and it was a InPrivate Window
pretty stupid feature: extensions are not activated in that mode....
This has the potential to get into the Sup Forums humor thread
I can't find the exact model, but if it's anything like this, we're literally talking 1000% margins per sale.
>pcs just become slow on their own
thank god Win10 has a refresh option for retards.
>companies making money ? How dare they !
who said that? they're just running a racket is all. I want a piece.
We're not complaining, were just amazed how easily you can make money of of stupidity
...
The idea was right there all along.
Whomever created Xtra PC was just the first to notice it. Or at least, capitalize on it.
Year of the Linux desktop right here
Please tell me thats a 'gag gift'
ywn be jewish enough to think of something like this first.
>Built on the proven foundation of Linux, it bypasses the old, slow, bloated Windows operating system to make your PC into a blazing fast, high performance PC with a new, simple to use, operating system that has the familiar look and feel of your Windows PC.
They're really milking the idea of the bootable flash drive.
it's a joke on whoever gave it
You could get in on the racket as well, you can sell open source games on ebay/elsewhere.
see these ads daily
it must be making some money, then
that's a good sign
>tfw some scammers will make 2017 the year of the linux desktop
It is money going to the softwares' prolification, but it seems like damages should be easy to get. I wonder why there's never enough donation money to go after this stuff.
The logic being that an extension could potentially keep a log of what you do in inprivate mode, defeating the purpose.
Using inprivate to fap to scat porn has no benefit if your adblocker remembers your choice not to block ads on iEatShit.com so they'll let you watch videos.
macrohard winblows btfo
...
I'll play Devil's Advocate here.
99% of people don't understand the idea of USB bootable OS. But a lot of people have hard drives crash, slow ass computers filled with malware; and no cash to fix either of these problems.
For $25 they can get the PC into a running state again, at least enough to get online and look at porn.
You aren't going to get a windows repair, or new hdd installed for anything close to that.
And yes, at least Win10 can refresh itself these days.
years ago Sup Forums GPL attacked some overpriced OEM rebranded PCs with a reskinned ubuntu sold as a computer "for the elderly". Does anyone remember what it was called?
I don't think anyone is really disagreeing with you, it's just that it's a very easy-to-undercut business model.
How do they expect normal people to "change the bios settings" to let it boot from start-up
Also, there is going to be a uefi issue with secure boot and all (it's more recent tho)
>$30 for 128GB USB drives
Fucking hell Americans have it great.
it's marketed to old computers, and F12 really works on most of them.
They might benefit from having a database on what machines require what.
>open office
triggered
Also if they're going to be ripping people off why not use the small thumbnail sized USBs or micro/SDs? Ain't nobody got the physical space for this shit.
think i'd go for the pro version desu
>micro/SDs?
Can't boot from a microSD, genius.
Maybe if you're on a fucking ancient toaster.
this product is targeted at toasters...
>he doesn't know my grandma has the latest i7 and GTX 1080 running windows 98
tsk tsk
Then do it.
too much of a pain.
youtube.com
Know what I'm getting for Black Friday, thanks OP!
t. not a stealth marketer
Holy fuck. I actually had a d610 latitude. Thing was a beast. Lasted me 12 years and sold it for $200 still
To make money?
Any comparison of LXDE and XFCE?
any cost of entry are too much for most people.
?
>it's actually 10x faster
extra pc is just a linux distro. it's not a pc, and it doesn't make your computer faster
only technologically inept retard would fall for this
Damn son you must think you're astute.
satisfied customer would recommend paying top dollar
i will not buy until i can use it in my new MacBook pro
big if true
16 GB = 2 * 8 GB = double the speed!!!1
I'm posting this from d620 mah nigga.
>implying the people responsible for this shouldn't be publicly caned
If you look closely, it even seems to be a sticker slapped over the SanDisk logo.
reee
I'd be Jewish enough to think of it, I'd just never assume it would actually work if I go through with it.
FROG LEAVE.
>Not enjoying paying 20%VAT on all your electronics
You should probably leave user, it won't get better anytime soon.
It might even get worse depending on who's elected.
BR here, you have no ideia how good you have.
Are they really lying or being deceitful though? for most retards that probably will double the speed of their computer, and there's no way in hell they'd be able to do that themselves if it wasnt presented to them in a plug and play format.
Fellow BR here , BR user is right , you have no idea how bad it can be trust me.
So they're selling linix usbs...
anyone got a dump of what's on the stick? Would like to try it before buying
I remember this shit, but not enough.
Anyone?
>only technologically inept retard would fall for this
So the vast majority of people. Sounds like a solid business plan to me.
> Implying a bunch of freetard hippies and their "i eat shit from my foot" leader are going to bother suing some straya cunt
Nice screengrab.
Love the austistic peasants and watching them get the piss beat out of them was pretty funny.
So I was considering stealing your name and pretending to be an absolute retard with it to get the board to hate you but I guess I don't really need to
Many people ITT are saying that it is a scam and that it should be illegal, but it's actually pretty good that they're offering this product. If you created a guide about how to make a live USB and advertised it as in their publicity, literally no one would give a shit to try it; put a price tag on it and people will automatically think that it's good and want it. That's just how it works. They're providing people with a solution for their problems while creating an abstraction layer from the technical stuff involved; basically they're selling a computer that just works, you don't need to know anything just for 30 bucks. You all wish you had the vision of these people.
i agree
in a way this is top tier apple marketing
it targets old people and tech illiterates (apple users).
too bad they can't use their usb-a anymore
I hope that is the usb stick that fries anything that it gets put into.
What if the PC is set up to not boot from USB?
How do they expect tech illiterates to configure the bios?
How compatible is Linux with wifi drivers out of the box these days?
People are not going to connect a network cable to download the required driver. (Wired Ethernet is generally better supported out of the box)
everything but new broadcom, I think
intel woks great
also, duplicated OP's results on linux
Imma try with mpv next
forgot
oh wrong thread whoops
wait but it isn't a $25 PC it's a $25 live usb...
It's just Lubuntu with minor tweaks
>Louis Rossmann
mah nigga
please kill me now wtf
k
>charging $25 for a live usb
this is genius, why didn't I think of it
because free was better
No Internet. Kinda poetic
remember this?
>webcam in the bottom near hinge
Fuck you, lenovo, you could have done this in 2009 so we would not end up with HUEG ASS bezels around fucking screen
>it's just that it's a very easy-to-undercut business model.
Not really. It's going to come down to distribution channels and brand recognition.
Can you undercut them? Only if you can get the drives in enough volume to make it economically feasible.
Everyone here is just mad that they didn't think of it first.
Personally, I want to know how they deal with supporting users in configuring their systems to boot from a flash drive. How do you walk people through countless different BIOS configurations?
