GPU Steal or Waste?

Okay, last time people didnt really explain their opinions.
I got this card for $25.

Was it a good choice?

You could've done better.

Perfect working condition

no. igpus are faster than those cards.

This was debated last time, what is your evidence?

I needed a single slot card.

Intel Iris pro
Basically any modern APU

gpu.userbenchmark.com/SpeedTest/7716/NVIDIA-GeForce-9800-GT

It's shit. Any decent AMD APU shits all over it. Even a GT 730 will beat it (11%)

I'd argue that Intel Iris is superior to all, absolutely fantastic on hd 4600

There's this je-ne-sais-quoi with the integrated graph that nothing else can achieve, I'm not even kidding

even an athlon 5350 apu beats the 9800gt if you have the fast AMD specific ram
and that only draws 25w max

Why even waste money when most iGPUs will provide what that thing would attempt. It is a waste of space.

Decent deal because it is a piece of history and will go up in value over time. If it was any other GPU from that era it would be a poor choice.

>it is a piece of history

It's a 9800, not an 8800.

>piece of history

RIVA TNT2 master race

pre geforce

It's not even 10 years old.

Do you also use 512mb MicroSD cards just because the were part of history?

There's honoring history and then there's being a retard. You're doing the latter.

>It's not even 10 years old.

But it will be. I do think OP overpaid. Ten dollars would have been better.

>Buying shit that is barely worth the material it's made of

i had a 9800 two years ago, i paid $10 at the good will, i paired it up with a phenom and ran everything i threw at it on high (PS3 Tier games).

It was a real nice GPU, i kinda miss it... U_U

It was the only nvidia GPU i had that didnt shit the bed or overheat.

Kill yourself.

Anecdotes.

I have a 9500 GT sitting around and a HD 530 igpu. I plugged it back in once for fun. The nVidia card can reach 70C (50W TDP) and gets around half the FPS sustained in gaming in the worst cases, compared to my igpu, which generally runs at 1-5W and peaks at about 15-18W during stress tests, and sits in the 30-50s temperature wise with the 4 cpu cores spewing heat all over with the stock cooler, depending on which game.

My motherboard even has more video outputs than that video card.

lol I would have sold you my old 650 gtx for that.I cant give that shit away.

>not a gtx+
Try harder

I bought a 9800 GTX 1GB for $20 and that was 4 years ago. Gave it to a friend.

Oh man, I still remember buying a gt9500 before I had any idea about computers and just how underwhelming the card was.

Nonetheless, I used the card for years in my home PC.

A waste if you're buying it for the sake of actually using it. You can get much faster cards with support for newer APIs cheaper or around the same price. Not to mention, cards with current driver support

>tfw you got a 7600gt for free and played WoW in BC with it on medium settings.

2008 was the best

It's $25 you poorfuck, what the fuck does it even matter?
