>use windows xp sp3 for work >company brought 3tb Hard Drives >3TBs seen as 700gbs >Cant format due to drive being full of important files >Have to use XP for legacy Support >Not my computer
is there a patch that will make the drives detectable without a format?
fucking this OP. Run XP through a VM. Convince them to use at least Windows 7 if they won't use linux. If they won't do that tell them to fuck themselves with a 10ft pole and leave that shit hole.

If you're lucky, the drives are GPT-partitioned, in which case you might try something like Paragon GPT loader. If the disks are 4kn (native Advanced Format) you won't be able to read off them under XP no matter what.

Install 7, shrink partition to small sizes, attach to XP VM.

you're company should be fired.

On Windows xp 32-bit running natively on a computer with no EFI support, you HAVE to use a third-party tool in order to use all of a hard drive that is larger than 2 TB. Several PC hardware corporations have made freeware designed for this. Maybe one of these will work for you.
If it doesn't HAVE to be native windows xp, then you can try to use use ANY newer operating system and run Windows xp in a virtual machine for the legacy support.
Julian White
install Windows 10.

Hard drives don't go in work stations you silly fool. That's what company file servers are for.
Carson Morgan
You can check if linux will detect 'em just by using a bootable USB, OP. If it can't, then its the BIOS/motherboard combination and you can't do anything about it.

shoot your procurement guy/cto/ceo, whichever is too big of a jew to hand over the shekels to microsoft

Fired because you can't use a handful of $100 3TB drives to their max potential? Quit--your employer is too poor to have a bright future.

Is there any particular software your business uses that will only run on XP? If not, upgrade to 7.
Nicholas Baker
There are some companies that still use DOS. When you have tons of in-house programs that won't run on anything newer, you simply don't upgrade.
Easton Anderson
Dude, fucking VM windows xp.
Gabriel Jones
That's not a patch you need, it's a Patachu.
Jack Hernandez
There is literally nothing wrong with XP and with a simple registry hack you can make MS think XP is POS2009 and get updates for quite a few more years.

If you are still running xp beyond end of life your company are most certainly paying for support and security updates for xp. I suggest you ask your IT staff for support. Oh and you should tell them to hurry up and migrate. Enterprise support for xp is only going to get more and more expensive.
