Desktop threads were basically the same handful of faggots who made a single post with their desktop and then spammed anime pictures. I'm OK with anime, but why make a thin veiled "desktop thread" on Sup Forums to post cute girls? There are other boards for that. Desktop threads barely had any desktop talk, and were mostly fags masturbating over their Linux rice and bullying new people.

No one ever gave a fuck about giving directions on how to make shit look good on those threads. I still enjoyed lurking and looking at the actual desktops, but it was always the exact same shit every single time. No new pictures, skins, programs or anything, and anyone who did try to post something different was quickly reminded not to do, because the threads were just for anime spam.

sometimes it's hard to give advice because the entire aesthetic the person is going for is awful, and can't really be salvaged. i dunno if that was the case for you.

alternatively, if the person asking for help hasn't demonstrated that they're putting in some effort then i usually won't bother trying to help them. it's not worth my time if they're probably just going to blow off the advice.
