>Have a wireless keyboard >Plug in to a windows machine >Touchpad doesn't work >Update windows drivers >This time touchpad works, but tap-to-click doesn't >Go to Logitech website >Download driver >Reboot >Finally works
Meanwhile in Linux Live ISO: >Plug in wireless keyboard >Shit just fucking works
Windows is a timesink garbage. Why do people fall for "Windows just works" meme? Honest question.
>Have a wireless keyboard I have found your problem. You are a faggot.
Aaron Ross
Unless you are NEET gaymer, wireless keyboard is perfectly fine for people that prefer doing work to manage wires.
Evan Phillips
Whether you are a NEET gaymer or not, whichever OS anyone uses or not, this thread has stopped being a topic on everything else save for ridiculing your faggotry the moment you mentioned the term "wireless keyboard".
Last but not least, politely said, you are a faggot.
Adam Wood
> i have no argument so i'll call you a faggot.
Like a cornered animal
Nicholas Hill
>Meanwhile in Linux Live ISO:
try plugging a printer
Xavier Wood
>plugging in a wireless keyboard Don't you have Bluetooth, user?
Josiah Smith
>have usb wifi dongle >plug into linux maching >doesnt work >download drivers from another computer >transfer to linux machine >extract archive >open terminal in folder >make >sudu make install
Meanwhile in windows 10 >plug in usb wifi adapter >shit just fuckin works
James Nelson
>have a keyboard with macros >oh shit waddup doesn't work on autistic linux
Even windows freakin xp has more compatibility
Angel Edwards
>2017 >Plugging a printer LOL what is google printing?
Yes. Don't know what do I use it for tho..wait, my keyboard is a bluetooth one.
>Wifi dongle What 1990 era laptop are you running?
I was on the same problem too, my wireless wasn't included in ubuntu's default but now it is, but windows doesn't ship with the drivers so it goes like this linux >take lan cable >open hardware manager >installs driver just in a minute windows >take lan cable >hunt down your drivers >nothing shows up >give up and install pirated driver manager >watch 20 dollars of propriety code does the same thing as free software
Brandon Harris
Wireless keyboards are great for when you're watching movies or casual browsing from the couch, I have a wireless one for this and a wired one for everything else, fucking plebs
Camden Baker
I have one too it's RF though and not Bluetooth so it works in literally anything you can plug attach a regular keyboard to
Nathaniel Lee
All you had to do is install logitech drivers from logitech and pair the thing with bluetooth you dumb motherfucking copyleft foot fungus eating pedophile
Christopher Howard
Do you find it difficult to type on those flat keys? I have a similar Logitech keyboard and typing isn't so great.
Mason Gonzalez
i have the same keyboard op, it is by far the worst thing I ever typed on, windows is doing you a favor
Thomas Perez
>using wireless keyboards instead of a small controller or a remote control You are an immense faggot, and also stupid. Does your computer also take up half your room you hipster cakeboy?
Jose Lewis
Enjoy typing on that controller you faggot.
Jace Harris
not him but every remote control I've had that was meant for use with a PC has been absolute ass, and with both remotes and controllers there's the extra layer of hassle of mapping all the controller's buttons to useful functions in windows and making the thumbsticks work like a mouse etc.
i'd take a keyboard w/ touchpad over those options any day
Isaac Howard
Good luck typing on those you autistic piece of shit
Dylan Baker
I have a remote control with a small slideout keyboard. Again, go kill yourself cakeboy. You can even set up a slideout phone to do the deed if you have a brain in your skull.
Grayson Thomas
>This level os /v denial. Neck yourself you Vydia NEETs.
Chase Myers
I do enjoy typing on it, thanks, stupid kids :)
Kayden King
Disgusting

macOS users have a similar experience to Linux users in this particular aspect. Practically every input device I've hooked up my my Macs have worked right out of the box without drivers. In fact, the only thing I remember having to download drivers for my Macs for in the past several years have been printers, and for those cases the OS recognized that it needed printer drivers and offered to download and install said drivers automatically (and said drivers were actually from the printer vendor and fully up to date, unlike the drivers Windows Update tends to give you).
Matthew Clark
Meanwhile I plug my wireless logitech keyboard into my windows 10 pc and it works perfectly.
Fuck off you linux autist. Stop trying to justify using a non normie OS. Nobody fucking cares.
Luke Williams
This, CUPS is far better than anything Windows has to offer.
Aaron Gray
>Have chink wireless raspberry pi keyboard >Plug in to Windows 10 machine >Everything works
Windows just works
Samuel Bell
>Wait for updates to finish >3 hours later I-it just-t work guys r-right?
Kevin Johnson
>he doesn't have one of these pleb!
Andrew Lewis
Pic related is the best remote I've used. Swipes are better than fidgety direction buttons (and can include velocity, so you can quickly select something on the other side of the screen without spamming the right/left buttons), clicky hard plastic buttons are better than your stock gummy button shit, and dictating out searches works way better than onscreen virtual keyboard.
I just wish I could control my AV receiver and the TV itself with the same remote somehow. Having to use the remotes that came with the receiver and TV is frustrating by comparison.

>have 3 monitors >boot up desktop Linux >fucking horrible tearing on 2nd and 3rd screens >get told to "install a compositor" >look this shit up >instructions are for older versions of the OS and don't quite work
Meanwhile on Windows: >have graphics card >have 3 monitors >haven't seen tearing in desktop applications ever
Linux is forever banished to my server, at least until Wayland is stable and nicely usable. I want fucking nothing to do with Linux GPU drivers and the entire cancerous edifice built atop X.
Elijah Adams
Every hp and brother printer I've ever had to use worked immediately after plugging it in. Samsung was a huge pain in the ass though, had to install the official drivers in the aur in order for it to work perfectly.
Josiah Watson
>Have 5 monitors between 2 desktops, and 3 laptops, 2 of which have optimus shit >boot up desktop linux with official nvidia drivers and bumblebee where applicable >literally no issues with tearing
Meanwhile on Windows: >optimus causes windows 7 to blue screen >crimson drivers cause windows 10 to blue screen >mpdn and madvr segfault to driver issues
Windows is forever banished to my compatibility os, until the foreseeable future.
Wyatt Phillips
I have one but it makes right click by itself
Ian Rivera
>linux >plug in >it works right away sure thing
Gabriel Jenkins
how new
Ayden Lopez
>get new hardware >uninstall previous drivers >get latest drivers from manufacturer website >never have to worry about incompatibility or old drivers
Instead of it "just working," think about having the latest stable drivers, the way the hardware was intended, you dumb fucking nigger faggots...
Brayden Wilson
You remember how applel told people that "they were using it wrong :^)" as a response to the iphone 4 reception issue?
Nicholas Wilson
Now this thread can be closed.
Austin Parker
>have arch + xfce >plug in second monitor with different resolution >correct resolution is set without no problems
and supposedly I'm using the le broken xorg.conf meme distro
Lucas Butler
Yes
Colton Turner
holy fuck this
Michael Stewart
I have the same one and it worked right away idk what you're doing
Julian Brooks
literally never had this problem Running Windows 10. I jam in obscure shit, it instantly downloads generic drivers by Microsoft and shit just werks
Lincoln Gomez
>Try to use Microsoft Bluetooth mouse with OS X. >Doesn't detect in Mouse. >Detects as bluetooth devices in Bluetooth settings.

Hp, Brother and many others are simple as fuck as CUPS is Apple's daemon for printing.
Gabriel Foster
>the year is 2007 >be me >have PCI wifi card >install >linux doesn't detect it >download drivers from another computer >transfer to linux machine >won't install because of proprietary broadcom blobs >have to download another three packages to get b43fwcutter to work >two of those packages are scripts to download more files from eastern European IPs >finally get all files together >realize that this is all bullshit >dump Linux for three years until driver is open sourced
Brayden Walker
>buys broardcom wifi card wifi card >doesn't know how to tether android >doesn't know how to install drivers typical wintoddler
Cooper White
Ironic how winshills talk about their trash OS for "just working"
Adam Ortiz
mine too. we got chinked.
Jose Young
Should've just got Microsoft's version. Easiest install and even better reception.
Jose Cox
Have an old scanner and even older printer On Linux: >Plug in >Install simple-scan (literally 20 seconds or less) if not already (enough for me) >Just werks
On windows: >Plug in >need a driver >The latest one is for vista, I have W10 >try vista's driver >doesn't work (expected) >google >found something >install >doesn't work >give up, say 'fuck this', reboot to Linux
Thre only problem I ever had with printers on linux was with a particularly wonky HP printer. And even then it was like a 10 minute search and 1 minute fiddling with packages
Jason Bell
Printing on linux has not been an issue in literally 10 years.
Henry Sullivan
>Printing on linux has not been an issue in literally 10 years. yeah, you should thank Steve Jobs for that. apple bought CUPS and they spent money & time on getting drivers.
Joshua Edwards
>>have 3 monitors >>boot up desktop Linux >>fucking horrible tearing on 2nd and 3rd screens That's weird as man, I'm running 2 monitors on linux mint with an nvidia card and it just works out of the box.
Benjamin Myers
>>the year is 2007 I'll take things that haven't been relevant for half a decade for 500
Logan Gonzalez
You do know that Microsoft pays hired online shills to spread FUD and anger trolling about other OSes, right?
Printing on Linux is easy... If it's hardwired. Good fucking luck setting up WiFi printing.
Jace Scott
Have an old HP printer on home network. Never had any problem on Linux. What did I do wrong?

This thing is Thinkpad tier durable. Accidentally doused it with soda, had to take it apart and rinse the plastic since the keys got sticky, but it still works perfectly. Just werks under Linux too.
