First for memeheiser 598Cs

Second. Hope they're good.

Looking at M40x vs the 598C. What do

...

>order my HF5s this morning at 4
>they aren't shipping until tomorrow
>one day shipping

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Is this worth the $78?

What can I expect from the 598Cs?

I was in the same dilemma and ordered the 598Cs because m40x is not discounted and costs 99€. If I don't like the sennheiser I can just return it but if I lose the discount I may regret it if they actually turn out to be good

only if it comes with a free hooker and a bottle of bullet rye

I doubt they will be good. They will probably just be like any other headphone in the $100 range.

No

What are the best deals today?

Why use the hd598 name then which would be bad for the company image if it is shit

Anybody has earbuds/in ear headphones reqs? Need a new pair

>was about to buy the HD 600
>suddenly HD 598 at less than double the price
D-Doushio?

>X2s dont go on sale because le discountinued

XD

It's just a quick cash grab. People will still love and defend the original 598 no matter how the Cs turns out because that's how it goes.

YALL GOTTA STOP BEING NIGGERS AND TELL ME ARE THE 598s GOOD OR NAH

won't know if you don't try

No one knows yet, they just went on sale today.

Nobody knows anything about the closed version.

Is there a bluetooth alternative to the 7506s?

>bullet rye
hd600 are better, stop being a poor nigger and buy them

has anyone not bought them for full price here? wtf all these stupid hpg threads and ppl saying they don't know

where is the egotistical namefags when you need one??

explain the bullet rye to me pls

I ordered the 598c but can someone explain why the m50x is considered shit without memeing? Some reviews really praise it but some say it's shit. I heard many people recommend m40x over them. I hope the 598c s turn out to be at least as decent as the m40x

Looking for some good quality and non-gaudy headphones that i can use in public and on my commute. Was looking at portapros but the openness put me off.

For a gaming headset, yes.

For a music enthusiasts... Just grab a good pair of Wireless Beats.

Has anyone here tried the new fostex cans? TR-70/80/90? They look nice, I am a huge fan of the TR-50.

Go check slickdeals and Head-fi.

Some examples:

DT880, 140
LCD-2, 500
HD800, 850
HE400i, 225

These objectively are the best headphones on the market. prove me wrong.

Some info about the HD 598c

>inb4 plebbit

M40x is actually 74 on US Amazon right now so a bit less than the 598C'

is there an adapter that makes normal 3.5 mm cables work with sennheisers?

>Just bought DT770s
>These new sales

Well fuck me that's what I get for being impatient with my shopping

Sennheiser RS 120

These are good for the price range

But no wireless is as good as wired

Price of 770s?

170

Those aren't compatible with bluetooth though.

It is 99€ on Italian Amazon (no discount) whereas 598C is 56% discounted at 99€ I just thought I might try it and if I hate it I'll return it

>but they have more bass, more forward mids, and much more treble/brighter sound.
That roughly translates to "more everything" or "I blasted these at high volume".

dif user here but wut sales r u talking about?
i see a price difference between the black (179) and gray (137) on amazon, but there isn't any "sale" on them...

V6/7506 or m40x

is that good, then?

I want to thank y'all, I'm still very happy with my Fidelio X2, it was recommended to me about a year ago in a /hpg/
In the meantime I also upgraded my basic speakers to a sweet Tannoy DC6 set, and I'll be picking up an upgrade for my creative sub next week, an REL Q200E. I really wonder how it'll sound.

probably means the 598s

There's barely anything of value there, take the impressions about how they sound like with a tiniest grain of salt. You can't really have more bass, mids and treble at the same time when making a comparison unless you had them playing at a much higher volume than the other headphone. What you can deduct is that they are at least decent but we'll see how they are once someone bothers to measure them. Preferably multiple sources and with a nice enough coupler to allow a decent comparison between other models.

I ordered the 598 Cs, we'll see how they are!

ok thx senpai

looking for Black Friday sales on over ear headphones

Subs are a nice way to get bass extension but low frequencies are tricky in rooms. Your next step, assuming you'll take one, is to get a microphone to measure the room response and correct it with EQ in parts which it can be used, think about positioning the loudspeakers and sub as well as possibly doing some simple acoustic treatment. All starts from measurements though, you can't really guestimate it. Of course there is gear to automate the process.

Grab the hd598c join the hype train these will be the new memephones!

I have a HiFiMAN RE-400 and, sound quality wise, I'm pretty satisfied with it. I'd like to take another step towards sound quality. What I enjoy the most is clear vocals. I don't know if I can get better sound quality than the RE-400 with this budget, and I understand if I don't.

See reviews man, nobody here likes wireless, most sound bad, you might also want to look the battery life an weight for convenience

Guys, help
Is Sennheiser HD 598 cs worth ~120$

what makes them a meme

Everything is a meme on Sup Forums (I ordered them hopefully they are not shit this will be my first quality headphone)

If they're your first quality headphones then they'll most likely be great.

Bose Quiet Comfort.

I still have and use the Bose but I want a new pair of headphones to specifically use for the gym. I am forever done with earbuds

In an "ignorance is bliss" kind of way?

Same here, never had an audiophile one, so shall I get HD 598 Cs

They have lower impedance

what is Sup Forums's opinion on the ATH-MSR7BK?

Guys ?!!

Yes. Thanks for making it obvious.

they'd probably be mediocre at their normal price point but for the sale price it is a steal and will sound great and you won't know what you're missing out on in the 600 or 650 anyway.

That is what I am afraid of because I'll probably like them anyway since the best headphones I owned are the cx300 II iems. I just want them to be headphones that are worth the price and overall good compared to the competition. I was thinking of getting m40x or m50x but these were too good to pass on

Let this be your new standard then. When you feel like it's time to upgrade to newer headphones you'll have a decent level of quality to reference back to.

Just bought some M40X for 88€
to replace pic related (`・ω・´)

Been using a gaymen headset for years, when I first started looking to upgrade and read about closed and open I figured my set (plantronics 780) was closed since I didn't see any holes or anything in the back. After trying the logitech 230 (returned, hated it) I was sorta stunned at the lack of sound, couldn't hear anything going on around me at all and more importantly I couldn't hear myself talk which was really creepy and weird

I'd like to get real headphones for a decent price, obviously the 598C are the really big sale of the day and was thinking of getting them but idk, am I gonna experience the same thing I did with the shitty logitech set? Is it going to be really hard to hear my own voice when I talk? - I play games with friends rather frequently and use VOIP a decent amount and not hearing what I'm saying was super strange and made me very self conscious

What's the sound level that comes out of open ear headphones? Are we talking people 10 feet away can hear it or do they have to be closer? I was worried at first I had been broadcasting porn sounds for years but then I realized when I take them off I can barely hear anything from the headset unless the audio level was ridiculously loud. Anyone know if these are sorta a basterdized version of open ear or am I just expecting open ear to be a lot louder then it actually is? The "people around you can hear what's going on" was sorta the big drawback to me and why when I read the descriptions I initially leaned far towards closed being better (before I realized I had been using opens for years). If its not actually very loud and people have to be right next to you to hear then I wouldn't mind it

TLDR - If I was creeped out by my first experience with closed will I not be able to stand the 598Cs? If so, what do I do since the open back version isn't on sale and I really don't want to spend that much money

Yeah I think they'll be decent and sennheiser is pulling this for publicity since their list price is 229€

look 'em up on camelcamelcamel.com chucklefuck
they usually go higher, and today they were 100 but you missed out

They sound excelent for music and can become a headset super easy too

Reposting this again because I didn't get an answer last time

I pretty much only listen to rock, electronic, and a bit of hip-hop.

Would the X2's be good for that?

I've been using MDR-V6's for years, they're great headphones, especially for the price. But, I'm looking for something more exciting and "fun" for music, while also being open back. I feel like I've narrowed it down to the X2's, unless there's something better for my preference under $300?

I've tried the M50X and 598's, they were both good headphones for certain things, but just not quite what I was looking for.

I'd like that, but I'm moving to a new place, and while the living room is very open and 80% of the available space, I have to share it with a roommate who also has a pretty big audio setup. So I can't just do my thing and set it up in the middle of the room. It's gonna be pretty basic around the tv, maybe move it a bit further from the wall than most people would do, but that's it.

X2 are a great upgrade, if you have an amp look for the k7xx and k712 for fun

A guy in my town sells the sennheiser hd 215 for 30$. Should I go for it? I've never had good headphones , just shitty ones.

I didn't miss, still 100 + 20 shipping
So dickhead, my question was, is it worth the price?

HTF600

Would prefer something that doesn't look compeltley autistic as well. I know the KSC75 are like THE recommended clip-on, but they look like dog shit.

Test the sound leakage of the ones you have with the cups on a ball or something, simulating the sound level as if it was on your head. It'll sound very different & most likely louder.

like i said in previous post, look it up, you'll be better prepared instead of asking questions.
Average + $183.28
and like people have said earlier in this thread, nobody really knows since they're closed and different model than everybody else has bought, and only 9 reviews on amazon.

I'm very happy with my X2, a lot more clear bass then I expected. No regrets.

How much did your HTF600 cost? I'm looking to order one on Amazon but it's $35.... I want it.

quick question: would the akg k553 be well on buses or airplanes, or generally in public?

I got them in 2012 for $29 on amazon. They have held up great. Got the velour pads on them and they are comfy as fuck.

They are super big, are you handsome or a girl? Because you might seem like a freak with them

I tried but honestly I couldn't hear anything until my ear was basically right up next to the back

is there something inbetween closed and open? These don't have big holes/vents for air that I see on pics of open ear headphones so maybe it's some inbetween, I don't know

Pls repon

i'm a guy, with an average sized head, maybe a little on the smaller side

CAD$65 for SHP9500

Good deal?

> 170
What currency?
Here in Italy DT770 have been out at €130 for quite a long time.

Cool.

I should have picked up a used pair when everyone was returning them like crazy because of the glued earpads controversy. It dropped to like $142 on Amazon. I ordered them and for some reason chickened out and canceled them.

I'm just looking for something "fun" and that seems to be generally what people describe these as.

A part for the looks, they are the best sounding for that price range IMO, look for photos online they are big and have a large cable, you might try the mdr 1a or the ath msr7 for portable

yeah i just don't want to look lie an autismo on the bus, and since they're closed, i probably shouldn't worry about sound leakage. are these headphones easy to get a seal with? i've seen a couple of people complain about it

Canadian. And it wasn't a Black Friday deal, I just settled on those because I've read good things. Considering cancelling and ordering the 598 for 70 bucks cheaper before it's too late.

Do you know if they are comfortable? I was reading people complain about clamp and I live in a country where I will certainly have to order them (no trying them in store).

I have a pretty small head and would be open to changing the pads if necessary.

Currently looking at deals for new headphones. It's between:

NVX XPT100
ATH-M40X
HD598Cs

I've never had a very good set of headphones. Interested in getting the 598Cs for $99, but not sure if I'll be able to tell any difference in audio quality due to not having a lot of experience.
