"gameready" drivers rarely do anything but add hacks and shader optimizations for specific games. There isnt much other reason to update GPU drivers otherwise.

But explain to me how dedicated graphics cards and their drivers, and anything else relating to them, would go to Sup Forums, a "discussion board" about video games and video game consoles

I just had a BSoD from my factory drivers last week so I just updated and I've been fine since.

GPU drivers are just awful these days. I just hope in the future all these little hacks added to increase performance disappear. Its not a drivers position to optimize shit like that.

And while we're at it, we might as well move /pcbg/ to /vg/, since people on Sup Forums would get really autistic over it. Same goes for /fglt/, which is technically a general.

All OS discussion - Linux and BSD included - would also have to go to Sup Forums, since you can use operating systems to play video games. Except for older operating systems like 95. Those would go to /vr/.

Deep learning? That could be applied to video games.

Private trackers? You can probably find games on them.

Smartphones can also play games, so those would have to leave as well.

And gamer chairs exist too, so we might as well abolish all discussion of furniture from Sup Forums on top of everything else we're doing.

Lets make Sup Forums a barren wasteland because a vocal minority don't want to see anything relating to two companies that make the only dedicated graphics available on the market, that also happen to target their products for gamers.

nvidia always had that problem with drivers, every other driver had severe performance regressions. However, their drivers didn't use to blow screens up.

There is no reason to update them unless you buy a new game which doesnt function correctly under them

NVIDIA just recently fixed the Pascal SLI VRAM reporting bug, before that it was Pascal DPC latency and their driver control panel in general is a slow piece of shit, thank fuck Inspector exists. SLI support also isn't all-around amazing, so NVIDIA is definitely also fucking up in multiple ways. It's just not as bad as AMD, where CF is in an even worse state than SLI in terms of support and the DX11 draw call bottleneck is a pretty serious issue and not something you can work around.

Funnily enough, this current version fucked up my Gears of war 4. It will hit only 20fps no matter what. But I found a fix by putting the resolution scale to 107% or more.
